I will not address the table situation even though Stephanie assured us it would not be a problem. The three hostesses act like juveniles. The worst part was the Scallops were served COLD! I mentioned it to the server and his response was OH, did you want me to have them heated!!

We dined in the tavern and it was the MOST charming atmosphere. The bartender was great. Food was incredible. The meatloaf and foie gras were standouts but the chilled pea soup really surprised us! We loved everything and will be back

Delicious food and cozy setting. This was our first time eating downstairs in the tavern and we loved it. The menu offers a variety of options to choose from including a pre-fixe menu or à la carte menu. Staff is friendly and very professional. Will definitely go back!

We had a very nice dinner experience! I visited with my fiancee and we just got engaged - congratulations and a small candle were given with the dessert (a very kind and tasteful touch). The food was amazing and the service was very attentive. The duck was amazing and the toffee dessert will be my go-to when we come back.

I have always loved this restaurant. The foie gras is fabulous. The duck is not so great. I’ve had it all over the world and I was surprised that it just wasn’t that great. Also, I asked to take half of my dinner, which I did not eat home, the waiter somehow didn’t hear me, but to the credit of the restaurant they gave me a whole new dish to take home. So they were very gracious about that.

This is a traditional fine dining restaurant. Tables are amply spaced, the dining room is quiet, the service attentive. The food is terrific, with interesting variations on standard fare. For example, a fluke tartare was flavored with red radishes and crunchy flying fish roe. There is a cozy barroom downstairs where you can eat if you want a more casual setting. Ample wine list with something for everyone (though not everyone can afford Batard Montrachet for $1150!) We had a dry Hungarian wine for about $70. An example of the service: I ordered grilled salmon. I knew it was overcooked with the first bite. My wife ordered a steak, medium rare, and it was perfect. Before either of us could take a second bite, our waiter was at the table to ask whether the food temperatures were OK for us. I said the steak was great but not the salmon. My plate was whisked away, and the manager came to ask how I wanted the next piece cooked. I explained and within 5 minutes, out came a second piece cooked exactly the way I wanted it.

The atmosphere is incredible. Loved it! We at upstairs which is much more romantic and quiet. We checked out the lower level which was really a cool vibe but just not what we were seeking. The only complaint was the main course. It’s a pre fixe menu and we each ordered the filet mignon as our main. We were surprised at how tough and chewy out steaks were. My wife’s was worse than mine and she did ask for a different entrée. They were wonderful about it and the duck she ordered to replace the steak was far better. I imagine part of our issue was being there off season with virtually no one in town to fill these restaurants. I would still recommend the restaurant for the experience, the outstanding service and ambience.

High quality food and dedicated service but obviously understaffed as the fine food came Luke warm, spoiling the quality of the experience. Sending it back for reheating rendered everything overcooked. Disappointing overall.

This is my fourth time coming to 1770 House in just 2 months. I adore the space, the home-iness especially during the winter, the incredible food, choice of fine dining and casual (downstairs in the Tavern) and most importantly, the hospitality and conviviality--not easy to find in The Hamptons!

As usual, the Tavern at the 1770 did not disappoint! The cozy and romantic atmosphere adds a special touch to the evening, and the food is always on point. Our server (I forgot her name!!!) was so sweet and very attentive - an excellent wait staff is another aspect of the dining experience that can make or break your dinner, but they were great!
