Beautiful restaurant with amazingly gracious and accommodating service. Problem was that we didn't love the food. Our fluke and caesar salad entrees were quite good, but we were disappointed by our entrees. Wife's ragu was bland, and my curry cod was a bit too spicy. Perhaps just a matter of our taste, as neighboring tables seemed to love their food. Wish there had been more choices on menu (quite limited with no specials). Nonetheless, open to giving 1770 another try when we return to the area this summer.
1770 is always a great meal. top notch ingredients cooked extremely well. good wine list with a few holes at a few price points. if you want to spend big money on wine great otherwise you have to dig around. love the toffee date pudding, oysters and foie always top notch. butter with the parkerhouse rolls should be a thing doesn't go with olive oil. this team is a well oiled machine.
First time. We loved it. They could not of been nicer to us. I even asked for a table change, and They only wanted to please us, which they did.
The chef put together a great menu with excel beet salad and Scottish salmon dish. Cant wait to go back
The best restaurant in the Hamptons. Bar none. On every level
One of the best restaurants we have every been too, in every way!
Love this restaurant! We usually sit downstairs in the tavern, but just tried the main dining room. Romantic atmosphere, and our server was very attentive.
Sat by the fireplace , drank Cabernet, and ate the most delicious dinner!
1770 house was one of the most memorable
Restaurants beautiful room great service exceptional food and wine
1770 House is our favorite restaurant in East Hampton by far. In fact one of our top, top favorites anywhere.
The food is superb, the service is outstanding and the ambiance is very elegant in a low key, proper and polite way.
If you go there soon, make sure to try the Lamb Loin over Saffron Risotto . What’s lamb loin?? As presented, it looked like thick sliced steak. But more tender. The risotto was also perfect under it. A great combination!
Amazing table, patience with our many requests to taste wine and the best chicken of my life!
We just ordered drinks and appetizers as we where going to a movie , the foie gras was amazing so was the beet salad and the fluke tartare , we had a nice glass of wine .. we enjoyed this quick bites the service was attentive and fast
What a sweet date night we had, and we've been married for 38 years! We arrived very early before diningroom was opened and the staff could not have been more welcoming and making us feel right at home by offering us cocktails and turning on the fireplace while we lounged in the living room. Steven waited on us warmly and efficiently. Food was delicious. I must admit the Caesar salad was wilted and over done. Still, a perfect evening!
HreT food and service!!
Just lovely.... a perfect romantic spot; the staff is attentive yet not intrusive;
The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is gorgeous and the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. The food was just okay. Ordered the fluke tartar and the foie gras which were absolutely delicious. The foie gras melted in your mouth so good. However, the entres fell flat in the most disappointing way. This place is know man for the meatloaf and that was nothing special let me tell you. I don’t want to say it was dry but it was sorta on the dry side and the flavors were just like, I dunno meatloaf from a diner. I mean it was good but I have no idea why it’s so popular. We also ordered the veal cheeks and they had no flavor whatsoever. Bland city.
What a lovely way to spend part of a wintry evening! The ambiance is warm and cozy, with excellent food to complete the experience. Both the chicken and salmon entrées were cooked exactly as desired, the endive salad ,ample and fresh tasting. Their prix fixe menu had wonderful choices, and the price was perfect. Our waitress was not only welcoming, but knowledgeable and attentive as well. A true East Hampton treasure!
Intimate special occasion restaurant with fab food and warm cozy interior.
An exquisite setting for a flawless meal and extensive wine cellar
We always enjoy going to the 1770House. It’s our favorite restaurant in the Hamptons. Always great food, cocktails and service are outstanding.
Amazing. Best food in the Hamptons.
Wonderful experience, very welcoming and knowledgeable staff. The food was delicious!!!
The food was fantastic. It was so cozy/homey. Got a drink downstairs in the "basement" tavern part of the restaurant before dinner. Expensive, but worth it. Highly recommend.
The most amazing service we have ever had anywhere! The staff was excited about the food they had to offer and everything was really delicious. Their warmth and knowledge added so much to our meal and made the evening very special! I can't remember the last time everything about an evening was perfect.
Fabulous hospitable service.. go out of their way to let you know they are interested and want it to be the best experience it can be. Delicious meal. Left feeling taken care of.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience!! The food, service and atmosphere were superb!!!!
Beautiful setting and fine dining. Highly recommended for food and ambiance.
Absolutely loved our dinner last night! Food and service were both excellent.
Ambiance and service were exquisite. Classy, mannered but supergracious and friendly waiters. Food ( chicken & risotto/ salmon with pureed broccoli and partridge ravioli) was delicious and since it was LI restaurant week , was a fantastic deal!
1770 House is consistently excellent food and always enjoyable. It was a treat during Restaurant Week.
1770 House is one of the our favorite restaurants that we visit regularly. We went there during restaurant week, $28.50 for three cour meal. Had yellow beet salad that was excellent. For main course we had salmon that was perfectly cooked, and had cheesecake and ice cream. Food at the 1770 is consistently good, and you get your money's worth. Only drawback is that the menu is very limited. Wish it has little more items to choose from. In any event one will get Money's worth.
I honestly can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food was delicious & I was told the martini's were perfect! I can't wait to go back.
Was one of the best dining experiences i have ever had. Food was amazing, service was impecible. Cant eait to go back.
After a year or so of struggling through kitchen changes, 1770 House is back to being as good as ever. Wonderful food in a comfortable space with an emphasis on locally sourced products. Highly recommended
My spouse and I went for L.I. Restaurant Week. We enjoyed an elegant, relaxed dinner at an amazing value.
Excellent service, ambiance, food.
Wonderful as always!
This was a superb dining experience. We especially enjoyed our server, MJ’s excellent service and thorough knowledge of the menu.
The food was just beyond compare.
Truly the best restaurant on the east end. The quality of the service and food are excellent. On the expensive side but worth every penny. The no substitutions policy is a bit annoying but I'll give the chef a pass on that. Definitely worth a visit.
Tables was too close
Expected a better experience.
Wonderful place for a special occasion.
