Kizaki is Chef Toshi Kizaki’s highly anticipated solo omakase restaurant, marking the peak of his remarkable career as one of Denver’s most influential chefs. After celebrating more than 40 years of success with his first restaurant, Sushi Den, Chef Toshi reconnects with his roots, paying deep respect to Edomae tradition—a 200-year-old Tokyo-style sushi that honors the integrity of each ingredient through authentic Japanese techniques. Kizaki offers Denver’s first true expression of Edomae-style sushi, with an omakase menu featuring approximately 20 courses showcasing raw, cured, seared, cooked, and dry-aged preparations. We offer a full bar, along with thoughtfully curated sake pairings, wine pairings, and a unique combination of sake and wine pairings to further elevate your Omakase experience. Omakase will start soon all guests arrive. Omakase at the counter or table is $225 before tax. Drinks, extra pieces of Sushi, and gratuities are not included.

The spirit of Johnny’s restaurateur father, the original Alteño, is felt in the very soul of the restaurant.

The campestre influence woven throughout Alteño is inspired by Johnny’s childhood spent in the mountainous region of Los Altos, known for its rolling hills, historic colonial architecture, and wild, untamed land. Amazing fresh food - love the crudo options and wonderful Mexican wine selections. Everything we had from cornbread to the lamb was fantastic. The music was very loud, increasing the volume of speaking required and hearing your table mates or waiter usually required a repeat or a decipher attempt after. Will definitely try again - reservations are months out

Every time we come to Denver we love to go to Sushi Den. The miso cod is mouth-watering the the sushi is so fresh! Such a delightful wait staff and amazing service. Definitely recommend. Also - easily handled that one of us is gluten free. ;)
