A word from Zocca
Zocca offers contemporary Italian cuisine, fine wine, and cocktails at one of the most scenic spots on San Antonio’s renowned Riverwalk, where towering cypress trees shade the restaurant’s riverside patio. Zocca’s casually elegant interior of burnished copper, rich wood, and handsome onyx panels creates a relaxed, welcoming ambiance. The culinary artists in Zocca’s kitchen bring a contemporary spin to traditional Old World flavors, focusing on locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients to create delectable and memorable dishes. Zocca’s private dining options can accommodate from 10 guests to 100, in an al fresco patio setting to the convivial Chef’s Table to buy-out of the entire restaurant.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "My dish, pasta with crab in a lemon sauce, was good but my husband's was fair at best (the risotto with seafood) and overpriced for what it was. We ordered one salad, split, and got two. Etc."

  • "We went 4 times in 5 days so you know we loved it! I am gluten-free and had pancakes and pasta and both were quite good. The food, the view, the location, the service - all worth it. When you go, ask for Raul - not only will you get great service he will throw in a little fun to make your night more enjoyable. Thank you Raul and staff. Next time we visit the Riverwalk, we'll probably come back 4 times again!"

  • "We had an excellent dinner on the Riverwalk with a group of 7. The food was fantastic although our service was markedly slow. We ate outside on a beautiful evening and relished the view as well as the ambiance of the Riverwalk at night."

  • "We had a family of 4 gathering after the 1pm Wicked show on Sunday. So we had an early dinner. Zocca knew about the reason for this special day and they made it even more special. Due to timing, we almost had the place to ourself and it was very good and enjoyable. Would recommend going back."

  • "This a great spot on the river walk with a pleasant setting, attentive service and quiet enough to converse without a lot of background noise. The food was superb. There is a river taxi stop just steps away from the restaurant."

  • "We enjoyed our evening at Zocca's. Service was excellent. Menu is short, but nice selections. Wait staff was not hovering or trying to move you out. If there weren't so many restaurants in San Antonio, we'd return. We did attend the play after dinner and the valee attendees allowed us to keep our car in the parking lot until after the play, which was ideal since the Majestic is within walking distance."

  • "Lovely location on Riverwalk with good food and excellent service. Our server Raul was fantastic! Quality far superior to other Riverwalk restaurants."

  • "A big thank you to the staff for being so good about all my restrictions. One of the few places we found in San Antonio that has a gluten free menu. One of the managers went out of his way to make sure I got served and got what I could eat. The pasta was well cooked which is very hard for gluten free. It was in too much oil but had great flavor. The sorbet was not great to me but my husband liked it and the presentation was nice. White table cloth service. Great view of the river. The area was beautiful and well kept. We would eat there again if we're in San Antonio and recommend it. People were very friendly. Good job!"

  • "Greet took over 5 minutes, at which time we ordered drinks and appetizer. Received appetizer quickly, however the menu listed olives and grilled vegetables, platter did not have any olives and grilled vegetables consisted of one small piece of zucchini and yellow squash. After waiting 15 minutes for drinks, that never came, we left."

  • "The food was very good but out waiter was probably the most attentive waiter we had on our vacation. Always checked back to make sure everything he put in front of us was to our liking. That by far is worth it even if the food is mediocre."

  • "This is a great Italian restaurant, good for a date. The price is high, but the food and service more than make up for it. Service was excellent, the servers were courteous and the food came extremely fast. My only complaint was that it was very noisy, I had a hard time hearing my date. I recommend it for special occasions."

  • "In the Westin Hotel. On a quiet part of the Riverwalk, although it was raining the night we dined. Food was a bit unusal - a little twist on the normal Italian fare. Cesaer salad was remarkably good. Most portions were large enough to share. Service was slightly better than average. Wine list consisted of common wines that are generally commercially available."

  • "While the service was good, and the atmosphere very nice, the real star of the evening was the food! I was impressed by how the Penne with Veal Meatballs tasted. And the fried risotto... very flavorful! I'd love to return to see if all the dishes here measure up to the high standard these dishes set."

  • "I loved the food at Zocca, and it was on a very quiet part of the riverwalk which i LOVED. I had the seafood risotto and it was perfect, my husband had the rigatoni with meatballs and loved it. I think my favorite thing was the fried artichoke hearts. I couldn't have hollandaise sauce cause i"m pregnant so they gave me a lemon vinaigrette which was amazing - I told them they should always serve the lemon vinaigrette with it cause it was light and fresh. Service was really great...took a litle while for a waiter to come to the table but once he did he gave my husband a free glass of wine cause he felt bad about it."

  • "We had a nice evening sitting on the patio alongside the riverwalk (the quiet part, away from the throngs of tourists). Menu isn't huge, but a nice variety. Split a pizza as an appetizer, very good flavor. Brick oven chicken was tasty, tender and moist, with creamy mashed potatoes and asparagus. Spaghetti Bolognese was good, too. Our service was very good, but a little confused as they tried serving us food/beverage for others three times. May have had to do with a very large private function in the back half of the restaurant. Anyway, it was a nice evening."

  • "We were away from home for Christmas for our son's graduation from AF basic training & we wanted a very nice meal as a family. Searching online for restaurants open on Christmas day, we found Zocca, and I'm glad we did. The food was very good; standard holiday fare like turkey and roast beef, omelets, waffles, etc.. with a nice gourmet twist to them. There was a sugar plum salad that I would eat over and over again, if I could! The price was commensurate with the quality of food and service. I was very grateful that all the staff had a good attitude about being at work; everyone was exceptionally nice and made a great deal of fuss over our new graduate, thanking him for his service. I felt the same way about the staff at Zocca!"

  • "My boyfriend and I went here for a post-Valentine's getaway. The restaurant is on the quieter site of the RiverWalk. It was a beautiful night so they had opened the doors of the restaurant so we were inside but looking out on the river. For a Saturday night, it was really not crowded. The food was great - we both got pastas and they were delicious. Our waiter was so wonderful and came around at the perfect times. He also did not charge us for the coffee we ordered. It was a very romantic setting and we loved it."

  • "Bruschetta appetizer was yummy and so was the pizza, Our waiter was great, I wish I remembered his name. if you want to sit outside on the riverwalk its very nice. It was too cold when we were there so we stayed inside. remember this restaurant is downstairs in the Weston Hotel. the directions or address does not say that. I almost missed it while walking with my google map."

  • "We enjoyed the special five-course Valentine's dinner. The food was delicious and the servings were just the right size. It was a beautiful evening on the river walk, and the service was very good until it came time for the bill. We had a hard time finding our waiter to get the bill, and then it took another twenty minutes or more before he came to get the credit card. He was very apologetic, and it was the only snag in a wonderful evening. We plan on visiting Zocca again when we are in San Antonio."

  • "Food was bland. Had the Brick oven chicken and was flavorless. The staff was not very attentive. Prices are too expensive for the quality of the food and service."

  • "Stayed at the Westin and so very glad Zocca was in house! We had lunch and dinner one weekend and all the selections were wonderful. Everything from the selections, presentation and taste was excellent. I had the Crab Pappapelle and my husband had the Chicken with pared wines and each were so delicious! Even if you are not staying at the Westin, you will want to try their excellent Italian specialities. We will definitely return when we are in San Antonio."

  • "I love the design and setup of the restaurant, ample outdoor seating as well as indoors. A lot of restaurants will sacrifice a few guests' comfort and put tables near the doors to maximize capacity and revenue, not in Zocca, they have a large service station in front of the double-doors to the river walk, thumbs up! The food is superb, attentive service."

  • "When you have Sea Bass on your menu, serve Sea Bass and not Tilapia or whatever that was you caught from the river beside my table. You would expect much more from the location and price."

  • "There were 6 of us there dining on a Saturday night, "just" down the street from the Lila Cockrell theater, where we saw a version of the Nutcracker later that evening. I say "just" because the traffic getting to the theater from the restaurant was terrible, and the slow service didn't help matters (Our server was constantly walking fast; they didn't seem to be particularly busy that evening, but may have been understaffed). I find most annoyances not worth complaining about; however, I had to uncharacteristically seek out another server to acquire about dessert & coffee, and then finally our bill. The food was delectable overall. My spinach tortellini was a bit bland, but my Mom really enjoyed the chicken masala--talked it up for 2 days!"

  • "The service was the best we've experienced at the River Walk. The food was delicious, however, my husband had the Italian sea bass which came accompanied by very little. It only had three cauliflower florets and a few strands of green beans. Needless to say he was still hungry. Thankfully my plate was too much for one serving and he helped me finish it. Other than that, the food was devine, and so were the margaritas."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner indoors although there is out door dining along the river walk. Wedge and caprese salads were fresh and well-prepared. Linguine with clams was very tasty with a good amount of clams and seafood risotto was very good also. We paired Falaghina with the risotto and Ecco Domani with the linguine, both are excellent Italian whites. Pumpkin bread pudding was superb. Although this is a hotel restaurant, it is definitely the place to eat if you are staying at the Westin Hotel on the river walk. It was a little crowded, which is unusual in my experience for a hotel restaurant, especially with so many choices on and around the river walk so that tells you it is a great place to dine."

  • "Four of us (ages 63-70) dined inside during cold weather at Zocca's. The patio, right on the river, looked inviting, but we chose to sit inside. The staff was personable, the service prompt and correct, the food delicious, and we all decided that we would return again and recommend Zocca's to many others."

  • "This is a pretty quiet part of the riverwalk. Tables are setup beautifully right on the edge of the river. No real people watching because it isn't the busy part but it was nice a relaxing. Food was good, maybe a little expensive. Service had great moments but sometimes we were left waiting even when it wasn't that busy. We'd go there again."

  • "It's a beautiful spot on the riverwalk but it took so long to get our food it ruined the whole experience. My friends steak pizza was great and so were the bloody marys but everything else was just ok. There was probably only 8-10 other tables and it still took us almost 2 hours to have a sandwich. Our waitress was nice but something was holding her up. We found slow service at most of the restaurants we went too."
