A word from Wind & Sea Restaurant
The Wind & Sea Restaurant is located on the water in the Dana Point Harbor. With water on three sides, every table has a spectacular view.
We serve fresh fish selections daily as well as Alaskan King Crab Legs, lobster tail, shrimp, steaks, pasta, and vegetarian dishes along with an extensive wine list which has been awarded a Wine Spectator Award annually for the last six years.

Monday through Friday we have Hawaiian Happy Hour from 4:00 to 7:00 featuring our world famous Mai Tai's as well as draft beer, wine and food specials. Live entertainment on Friday and Saturday, as well as plasma and big screen TV's, keep the lounge exciting at all times.

The waterfront open-air patio serves the full menu and is heated at night, perfect for an order of nachos and a margarita or a full dinner under the stars. Private banquet facilities accommodate 20 to 100.

  • "We arrived at the resaurant at 1:45 on sunday for Brunch buffet as i went to get my food they started taking down the buffet and said take what you can its last call.we were told by our waiter that the buffet ran till 3:00.we were celebrating a :very important birthday for my wife and kinda ruined it.The person in charge was not too freindly and really didnt care, he was more interested at being upset with the waiter"

  • "I travel 100% and rarely get to see my peers, so an opportunity to eat dinner with my manager led me to Wind & Sea in Dana Point. Originally planned to eat inside, in the main room, but once I saw the outdoor lounge (around to the left from the main entry) I had to eat out there. What a good choice; the boss sat facing toward the harbor inlet and enjoyed a great view. Of course, the food was great and not too expensive. It was very pleasant all around and the boss commented afterward that I made a good choice."

  • "I chose Wind & Sea because of a previous experience having lunch there with my mother with a view of the harbor. Some family was driving up the coast to see us and I chose Wind & Sea because of the atmosphere and view. I was not disappointed and the family members all enjoyed their lunch and we had a nice dining experience. We had some laughs watching people on paddle boards and kayaks outside the window. The United States soccer team was playing in the World Cup, so the bar was a bit noisy, but it also created a fun atmosphere."

  • "We really like this restaurant and will certainly go there again. On this particular time our waiter wasn't that attentive and didn't get our orders right. Two of us had the clam chowder and it was only room temperature so we had to send it back. Also, although we were in the dinning room we were too close to the bar and so it was noisy (I don't hold that against the restaurant--it's just something to beware). All this being said, we consider the poor service and lukewarm chowder to be a fluke and will certainly go there again."

  • "When we made our reservation, they would not hold a window table, but could request one once we arrived at the restaurant. When we arrived, we did request a table by the window and the hostess said that was possible, but then stated that they were being held for parties of 5 or more. When we were got to our table there were 3 open window seats and the ones that weren't open most had 3-4 people seated at them. We were seated at a large half booth, which was too large for 4 of us and not a good view table at all. One man that had come in ahead of us was complaining about the same problem was told the same thing and after we were seated, he was escorted to one of the window tables. As window tables opened, 3-4 people were seated at them!"

  • "The food was good and plenty. Our service was great.We were talking about the long brunch lines. We suggest that the outdoor dining has it own set of buffet or a better flow for the ones given. One person was holding up the line with buffet items. The omelet lines moved like clock work. We watched from our seating and there had to be a better placement for the flow. Second, we sat next to three empty tables of eight where we could of been out of the way of the people in the bar area (free seating/no reservation) and the oatmeal/muffin bar. People were constantly bumping into us. I would not come for brunch at the Wind & Sea.It was not comfortable and other restaurants in the harbor have a better/easier atmosphere, and not a cattle call."

  • "in spite of a couple of the dishes being prepared wrong, it was so great there on the patio we didn't care. and when the food did arrive, it was just fantastic. really! the best fried shrimp i have ever had. and the roasted chicken sandwich was outstanding. the fish and chips was wonderful. we will be back as soon as we can."

  • "My wife both had Mahi. Her's was done in a teraki (sp?) mine was top with a chipotle salsa. Her was very good mine just ok. The pieces of fish were very different in taste. I believe she had Mahi and my bland fish was something else."

The lobster tail was tough and the pasta was over cooked. the garlic bread was dry and not appitizing to eat.The only entree that was worth the money was the clam chowder. I would not recommend this resturant to anyone. Very disappointed."

  • "Dined on mother's Day so the restaurant was very busy. Our server was friendly but seemed a lttle overwhelmed. I orderd a Bloody Mary that tasted watered down. We have enjoyed the Calamari Steak in the past but today it was rather over cooked and dry. Our son ordered the special Stuffed Halibut entree. It was suppose to have a Cajun flavored sauce, however he advised it was tasteless. We always enjoy the view of the harbor while dining so we will return in hopes of having a better meal."

  • "I was expecting a zoo on Mother's Day. It was very busy and the lines for waffles and omelets were too long but that was no surprise on Mother's Day. The food was very good and I have not enjoyed a breakfast out as much in years. Our table was lovely and our waiter absolutely superb. This man deserves an accommodation for his efficiency with that packed holiday crowd. We were seated within 5 minutes. Parking was an anticipated problem and my daughter had to drop off & park up on Golden Lantern. It took her a long time to make it and she is an athlete. As far as your service of booking online I give you a fantastic! I called the restaurant and was told there were no reservations, went online and an 11.30 reservation came up. We will return!"

  • "I was disappointed in the customer service from your hostesses. I stated upon making the reservation a month prior, that this was a very important luncheon, I was surprising my girlfriends asking them to be my bridesmaids and my maid of honor.imrequested outside and the girl didn't tell me it was first come first serve! I wanted to have a table ready so I could set up gifts etc. Not having a table ready, was disappointing and a little embarrassing. We had to wait 45 mins. I also forgot my bag filled with leftover gifts under the table when we left. I called within 10 mins of leaving and the hostes said she didn't find anything. That was disappointing too. I sure hope they were telling the truth and not keeping the items for themselves. "

  • "Easter Brunch, Beautiful day. Our server was excellent. The food we ordered off the regular menu was excellent. The view was great, the location of the restaurant is fun. Our server was wonderful, everything he recommended was on spot. We rewarded him with a very nice tip. SHAME ON THE MANAGER. The manger would not allow us to open the door or window. Because of the BUFFET burners the air smelled like butane and it was very stuffy. Outside it was a beautiful perfect day, we just wished we were able to have some of that fresh air. The manger told us that she would not open the nearby door because it would not make a difference. She was wrong, an hour later, another customer opened the door. It did make a great big difference. "

  • "So many brunches feel they need to have an immense spread, but who can eat it all? You pay so much for a great variety, but can only eat so much. Wind & Sea focuses on their breakfast offerings, and does an excellent job providing a high-quality meal. The cost was EXCELLENT, especially when compared to other similar restaurants. Service was top-class. It didn't matter who our normal server was. Everyone who passed by made sure our drinks were filled. Though many like window seats, I couldn't see a single spot in the restaurant that didn't have a nice view. I am definitely keeping this place on my list!"

  • "My wife and I met some friends for brunch on a Sunday morning, We were met by a friendly hostess and escorted to a nice table by the window. The view of the Dana Point harbor was magnificent. We all enjoyed the hot fresh coffee and then went to the omelette bar, complete with an excellent selection of omelette fillings. The side dishes are also very good -- bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc. We all enjoyed freshly made waffles with strawberry topping and whipped cream -- out of this world. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit together in the magical atmosphere of brunch at the Wind & Sea (the restaurant where my wife and I had our wedding reception 34 years ago). We highly recommend the Wind & Sea for their Sunday brunch. We plan to go back soon."

  • "I have young kids (7 and 8). I usually take them with me but occasionally get to go out just with my husband, so I've experienced the restaurant in both ways. The food is consistently good and they want to make it right if you aren't happy with your food. The service is typically good (we aren't very patient people), the view is very nice, and the tables aren't too close together so usually other tables don't distract from your experience. I don't know that it's "romantic" and the interior decorating is dated but that's not way I'm going there. It's a great place for me and my family."

  • "Oh how we wanted to like this place....but the food just did not measure up. Calamari strips were hunks of flavorless mystery. Mahi Mahi seemed not to be fresh, mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box. Seared Ahi was overwhelmed by its sauce. Service staff was pleasant and attentive enough. View is of course fantastic....kitchen just needs to execute."

I love the ambiance beside the marina, the sunset views, the warm and friendly service and I've always loved the food (highly recommend the calamari and nut encrusted mahi mahi or halibut with the plum sauce).   • "This was 24 years to the day that we had our Wedding Rehearsal dinner and it could not have been more perfect! We come here whenever we have out-of-town visitors, an important occasion, or just want to have a romantic dinner for two! We have NEVER had a bad experience; quite the opposite! They have all of the components for a relaxing and enjoyable experience: Terrific buffet (best value around), beautiful view of the Dana Point inner harbor (lots of activity to see), great for special occasions (we were celebrating a birthday), very attentive and happy servers and endless Champagne. It all makes for a perfect and lazy morning in one of the nicest spots in Orange County. It gets busy fast, especially on warm sunny Sundays. I highly recommend this place! We'll be back."

  • "I had a lovely time here. The server was terrific and her service was great even though it was a bit busy when we arrived. My friend and I split the salmon and we each got a very nice amount of food with the split. It was $3 extra to split, but well worth it. For real foodies maybe this wouldn't be there thing, but for friends who want to sit and chat and look at a beautiful view and catch up, it was fabulous!"
