Diner Reviews
  • "This was our first time at Wildfish and definitely will not be the last. Yes, it was expensive, but we had way more food than we would normally have since we tried many items. Outstanding wine selection. Portions definitely large enough to split. Roy was our waiter and we will ask for him when we go back - attentive but not hovering. Décor is one of the finest in San Antonio."

  • "Had a great meal at Wildfish last Sunday. We went 6:30 to avoid the crowds so that the noise was not a comfort issue. Our food was really delicious and the waiter, Tony, was attentive and helpful. We will go back soon."

  • "I went thinking it would be outstanding and it was okay. We ordered from restaurant week fix prix menu. My friend's tenderloin/shriimp entree was oustanding, however my salmon was very oily with very few vegetables. Lobster bisque was very good and so was chocolate mousse cake. The serving of the later was very large. Really the most disappointing thing about the dinner was the wine. I ordered a 2011 Chilean wine- Los Vascos- first entry on the wine list # 601 and I received a 2012 vintage. I was told they sold out of the 2011; believe me it was not the same."

  • "Thank you for the wonderful dinner and fun evening! Our out-of-towners loved it!"

  • "We arrived at the restaurant with reservations and were seated immediately. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was perfect for a night out with friends. The food was amazing. The tuna steak was cooked to perfection. Make sure to save room for dessert!"

  • "Both of our meals were very good, cooked perfectly. We've eaten there before & it is always good. Arrivef about 6:00, earlier than we ever had before because it was Sunday. The dinner section was not busy, but the bar was full. We had a great waiter who was very friendly and personable. The service was very slow, surprising since not many diners, but I guess the bar patrons were keeping them busy. I had a glass of wine that I finished before our appetizer came. We had appetizers and waited a long time for our entrees, in the meanwhile I asked to order a drink while we waited since it was still happy hour and was told I could not have the happy hour price since we were having dinner. Skipped the drink. Irritated me."

  • "Been here twice and the quality was consistent. The wine pairing suggested by our waiter was good but I felt it was a bit overpriced. The bisque is the best in town and the sea bass is also tough to beat."

  • "Highly recommended, Can be crowded, so reservations are recommended"

  • "Wildfish was wonderful! We booked on Open Table and noted that we were having an Anniversary and we were treated like rock stars. All the wait staff acknowledged our special day. The food, oh my goodness, it was so good from the succulent crab cake to the chowder, to the fish dishes to the key lime baked alaska....everything was so very good. We will be going back"

  • "Outstanding wait staff, incredible food, great ambience. One of the best dinning experiences ever. Possibly the best restaurant in San Antonio."

  • "The service was great up until the food came then they all disappeared which would have been okay if I wasn't so thirsty. Food was great, but don't forget to order sides. Most entrees are just the main course. Then there is the noise. Oh the noise. If your party is more than 4 people, you can forget conversation."

  • "Delicious from start to finish! Totally worth the drive! Make reservations ahead of time as the restaurant fills up quickly! Only bad thing is that you can't bring your own wine!"

  • "My husband and I found Wildfish on Opentable as we were looking for a place to dine with our two children, and didn't quite know what to expect. The food was excellent (calamari is a must-have, along with the halibut), and the service was phenomenal (our server, Rae, was a native of San Antonio and shared great stories while responding to our every need)!! That said, it's not the most kid-friendly place...they have no kid's menu. Who pays nearly $20 for chicken tenders, fries and a drink? Even though my daughter and I split the halibut, and my husband and I only ordered one appetizer and one cocktail/ea, we still spent over $240. It was worth every dime, but I think we'll leave the kids at home next time. :)"

  • "If your hearing is very good, you may be able to hold a conversation. Other than that, we all loved the food and the service, which was way above the norm."

  • "Our party of 3 came for dinner to celebrate a special occasion and we were very impressed at the excellent and attentive service throughout. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating to our special requests. The food was very nicely prepared and all 3 fish dishes we had were noticeably fresh and expertly presented. Our desserts were delicious, but very large for one person. The noise level was on the loud side and it was difficult to hear our conversations with each other and the staff at times. However, the atmosphere was lively and overall pleasing. We veryuch enjoyed our dining experience here."

  • "This is the perfect spot for large groups with so many different meals to choose from, everyone will find something they will enjoy. The wine list offers a variety to compliment any meal. Wait staff is wonderful and accommodating."

  • "Food was excellent and service was good but place was very noisy and by no means romantic. Parking was also an issue so opted for valet parking. Needs improvement on lobster n shrimp bisque but lobster tacos and the Parmesan halibut were fabulous!"

  • "I'm a regular here. This is my favorite seafood restaurant in San Antonio. It may even be my most favorite restaurant, period! The food is incredible and the service is outstanding. It also has a really sexy atmosphere"

  • "Thoroughly enjoyable experience. I am quite picky about seafood but both times at Wildfish the entrees that my wife and I chose were superb. Definitely lives up to my expectations."

  • "Dinner at Wildfish exceeded our expectations. We were visiting San Antonio and wanted to escape the JW Marriott Resort. The restaurant and noise level was higher than we thought. The service and food were excellent. All family members loved their entrees and the calamari appetizer was fresh and tasty. The Asian flavor and presentation made the dish. We had both seafood and steak and all dishes were prepared well and were delicious. We wish there was a Wildfish restaurant in Houston to dine at."

  • "Loved the online reservations. Last dinner we just arrived at restaurant with no reservations so there was a wait. I was aware of the online reservations so I made them that day. We arrived on time and was seated. Food and service was excellent and just top off the evening."

  • "My husband and I were in San Antonio for our anniversary. Found this gem on Open Table. Highly recommend sitting at table 25 with Allen as our server, he made it a very special night and recommend delicious entrees. Don't miss this place!"

  • "The food and service are excellent; however, the booth we were seated in was extremely uncomfortable. the seat is too low and the big round pedestal supporting the table made it impossible to get comfortable. Next time we will refuse to sit in this area."

  • "Made the reservations using OpenTable. I had a special request as I was taking an elderly mother-in-law with a walker. The staff was great and provided a table close to the door with easy access for her. We had an excellent meal and great wine. All of us enjoyed the whole evening."

  • "Food excellent. Was there for a birthday. Seated next to a very loud and inconsiderate group. 6 to 7 people crammed into a 4 top table next to our booth. Speaking spanish excessively loud to almost yelling and constant loud laughing. Not a pleasant experience for a restaurant of this calibre, $300 bill with tip. We have been to Wildfish numerous times, this was the most unpleasent experience we have ever had. Our server was also challanged with the group. we are not against prople having a good time, but this group should have been at a local sports bar or cantina, not Wildfish. Will reconsider before returning again."

  • "Great food for special occasions. A bit pricey so make sure to ask what the market price is for lobster! Dessert was excellent as we had the banana foster and panna cotta."

  • "After reading several reviews of this restaurant my wife and I decided to dine for our 20th wedding anniversay there. The ambience was nice, I don't know that I would describe it as "romantic" as several other reviewers have. The noise level in the dining room has a bit louder than we would prefer. Food was well prepared, with a wide range of dishes and entrees. Service was exceptional. Price with tip for a dinner for both of us with appetizers, main courses, 2 vegetable side dishes, desert and two drinks was over $200. I would say one could find a similiar dining experience in San Antonio for significantly less cost, and that is really my only complaint regarding an otherwise enjoyable meal."

  • "I picked this establishment for an evening business meeting. The atmosphere was fairly noisy but the service, food, etc. was great. My meeting attendees commented several times how much they liked it. The internet showed the plate price at ~$30. It looked closer to $40-45 to me. Valet parking was a nice touch."

  • "We go there often for happy hour. The dishes are superb, especially the calamari, and the service equals what you would find on a cruise."

  • "Always have a good experience at wildfish. Food is fantastic & service is great. Upon making reservations, I specified that we were celebrating a birthday however no mention of it during the evening. A bit disappointing"
