A word from Waters Bonnell's Coastal Cuisine
Chef Bonnell 's latest concept to showcase his passion for and love of seafood.

WATERS Bonnell’s Coastal Cuisine redefines the Fort Worth seafood scene. WATERS’ menu emphasizes wild, seasonal and, most importantly, sustainable seafood. A raw bar lines the main dining room where patrons can sample a vast selection of fresh oysters, clams, shrimp and crab. Chef Bonnell also offers numerous daily specials based on the freshest wild fish available from waters around the world, delivered directly from fishermen.

WATERS captures Chef Bonnell’s famous Fort Worth Fancy atmosphere in one of the city’s liveliest districts and, while seafood is certainlythe restaurant’s signature, the menu will satisfy every palate with game, beef, and vegetarian options.

  • "Wonderful service, food and drinks! Went to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was a great pick! Very attentive service, but not overbearing. Good selection of drinks/wines. And the menu was outstanding. Had to get the trio of daily fish since we couldn't decide! Different and delicious."

  • "Service superb and I love the look and feel of the beautiful dining room. We enjoy the menu and wine list. The staff makes you feel welcome without being overly attentive. I will definitely return, although can't make it a regular stop as it is expensive enough to require it be saved for special occasions."

  • "This was my second visit to Waters and it was just as good as the first. The seafood changes daily so I tried the red snapper, and it was amazing. My date is not a huge seafood fan but still had a hard time deciding from all the non seafood choices. He went with the pork porterhouse which he loved. We shared the cheesecake for dessert. Everything from food to service was excellent. We look forward to our next visit."

  • "We've eaten at Water's a few times now and there has never been any disappointment. The bar is casual and comfortable. Very classy. Great wine list and cocktails. Oysters are delicious for starters, but so was everything else! Bar tender very friendly and takes good care of you. Servers are on the ball. Food is Always fresh."

  • "I accidentally stumbled upon Waters and am glad I did. We called for reservations for six first, then added a friend. We were pleasantly surprised to find they had put us in a private room with a window that opened into the kitchen—the executive chef even opened the window and paid us a visit prior to our meal. Our server expertly explained the concept and managed our meal—except my iced tea glass sat empty much of the time. My only complaint about the food was the size of the shrimp cocktail—four very small shrimp (just like you buy at a grocery store), but a wonderful cocktail sauce. Among us, we had almost every entree on the menu and no one criticized a bite of it from the appetizers to the dessert. It was all excellent. We will be back!"

  • "The staff was great! Wonderful bar atmosphere! The food was amazing! The "I can't decide" is a must to try. We will be back!"

  • "Chef Jon is one of my favorite people but I find Waters not up to his standard. My meal for 2 with 3 glasses of wine and tip was $180. My Paella was bland and undistinguished. My wife's fish was good but Brussels Sprouts were poorly done. Service was nice but spotty. Will not return."

  • "An evening of great food and service. Relaxed atmosphere, not rushed."

  • "This was probably my 3rd or 4th visit to the restaurant and as usual I was not disappointed. We started off with the cold seafood sampler which was delicious but the portions are a little small for the price so if that's not an issue for you I would highly reccomend it. We also had the oyster sampler which is a must! All three are awesome! I are the swordfish (a feature that evening) which was to die for! And of course as usual the lobster Mac and cheese is a must!"

  • "Being from the Deep South, I found the Crabcake Eggs Benedict satisfied an intense longing for seafood served as they do in the best restaurants in New Orleans or Charleston. The accompanying Barbecued Pork Belly was a pleasant surprise, though perhaps not what I'd choose as an entree. There was even an updated Bread Pudding for dessert. This is a special occasion restaurant that will likely become my every occasion favorite. The atmosphere is sophisticated and elegant, a place to take your significant other, as well as anyone else you'd especially like to please. The use of upholstery and softer materials provides a welcome quiet to converse. A private dining room is available that looks great for my club's occasional luncheon."

  • "Took my wife for a date for our wedding anniversary. Food was great. Blair was the best waitress we have had in a long while. Would recommend any of the fish dishes."

  • "I took my mother there for here 80th birthday. And I am glad that I did. Every aspect of the meal was outstanding. The signature drinks were top notch. The oysters excellent. And as a side note: the grilled sun shrimp from Florida were some of the best grilled shrimp that I have ever had. And yes, we all have had grilled shrimp, but the freshness and perfect preparation was more than apparent within these. Our waiter Blair was pleasant, knowledgeable and gave well balanced service. We will be returning soon. Jon Bonnell has cast a big net and caught himself a great catch."

  • "It was my fiancé's birthday and they had a birthday card for her as well as complimentary champagne! They also spelled happy birthday on her dessert plate. The food was excellent. We had a variety of oysters, the sheepshead and the ocean trout. It was all delicious. This is quickly becoming a favorite restaurant and happy hour spot of ours!"

  • "I'm sure a lot of people would like this restaurant, but it isn't for us. I ordered the Tasmanian Trout and my wife ordered the shrimp and mussels. The trout was crispy on the out side but raw in the middle, my wife's mussels were undercooked and the shrimp border line being raw. When we asked the server she was prompt in getting the manager who informed us they always under cook unless requested otherwise, we were not told this when we order nor was it on the menu. They did not charge for the meals which were sent back."

  • "The food was wonderful! We had 4 in our party and each got a different special, each person thought their selection was the best choice. Hard to believe that you can get such fresh seafood so far away from the ocean. While the food was exceptional, the service was impeccable. Jennette was the best, with great attention to detail and making sure that all of our special request were met. She also knew the menu and could describe everything without having to refer to notes or other staff."

  • "The food is pretty good but with an incredibly slow wait staff it left a bad taste in my mouth. Recommended for much older people, was pretty quiet and the booths can be nice.. Love the oysters "

  • "Being originally from the Texas Coast, I appreciate the fact that the fish were actually swimming 24 hours before they were served on my dinner plate. All the food was interesting, different and delicious. Great atmosphere for a relaxing evening. We'll be back!"

  • "Great experience. This is a beautiful place to dine or have a drink and oysters. Did I mention oysters? There are very few places where I eat them in Dallas/FTW. And is one of them...fresh, shucked very cleanly. Ask for the off menu ones there are several that major surprises and were outstanding. I thank the chef for going the extra lengths to get the very best. The food is yummy, and had a very pleasant experience with the staff. This is on my A list of places to eat."

  • "Had a fantastic first experience at Waters. Greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne for our anniversary. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and personable. The food was excellent - started with half a dozen oysters and the ceviche trio. Both were fantastic. I had the salmon, my husband had the black drum. Both were delicious. They accommodated a tree-nut allergy without blinking. The dessert was a delicate lemon cheesecake - delicious as well. I can't wait to return!"

  • "My wife and I went to Waters on our anniversary night. We had been to the original Bonnell's a couple of times, and loved that and wanted to try the seafood. We used the West 7th Valet parking that was validated by Waters, very convenient. We were a few minutes early for our 6:30 Open Table reservation and we were seated immediately at a huge, yet cozy booth next to the street windows. We each had a cocktail, artichoke dip appetizer, the seafood trio, the king fish, and the lobster mac n cheese, two bottles of San Pellegrino, and dessert. The presentation was delightful, there was plenty to eat and we took the mac n cheese home. Bryan was our server and he and his team did an excellent job. They even wrote us a happy anniversary card!"

  • "Rec'd comp champagne for a special anniversary dinner at Water's -very nice! Ordered Surf & Turf for Two $70 - Food was very good but we should have asked size of the steak & lobster. Guess the steak size was ample enough but was disappointed at small size of the lobster. Everything was put on one plate & given 2 smaller plates. Received one serving of scalloped potatoes and ribbon squash - thought serving size of these sides could have been larger since they had to be shared. Had seen other reviews where dessert was also comp for special occasions but we were charged for ours - really kind of tasteless cake with cumquat syrup on side. Ambience is very nice and quiet which we did enjoy & excellent service. "

  • "I reserved a table to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The manager greeted us on arrival and wished us happy anniversary, provided us a complimentary champagne toast, and offered a free dessert. That got the evening off to a great start, but things only got better. Our server (Jeanette) ranks among the best I've ever had (I'm 50 and have been around). She was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. She gave us excellent advice on ordering oysters and also hit a home run on her wine recommendation. I wouldn't have thought to try a pinot noir with snapper, but the two matched perfectly. Excellent food, great service, close attention to detail. I'll definitely go back and I'd recommend Waters to anyone."

  • "Went to Water's for my wife's 50th birthday with our two teenage children and the mother-in-law. Pretty place, but air conditioning was too cold since the place was less than 20% full on Sunday @ 6 pm. Loved the Texasfella appetizer of fried oyster in a shell with spinach and bacon. Drinks were fine and everyone (except me) liked their food. The Rabbit Chicken Fried Steak and the Alaskan Char were the favorite dishes. I had the shrimp and jalapeno grits and I was disappointed since the girts portion was small and cold and my shrimp were overdone. I did not feel like sending it back since my family already thinks I am too picky. "

  • "Wonderful restaurant, Lots of glass and a view to the neighborhood. The Server was Excellent, very attentive and knowledgeable, Food was also excellent. I had the "I don't know what I want" Trio, and My wife had the Grouper. And the oysters were wonderful, 12 (I think) different kinds of Oysters on the half shell. VERY Fresh and tasty. Overall A great Experience, will be going back. "

  • "A small group on a Tuesday night. The food was absolutely delicious and each bite elicited a um. Appetizers, drinks, main course and dessert. The bar drinks flavorful and the service with information spot on. It was a slow night and we were there until closing. We have all decided to return with others and posted on Facebook. Great for foodies! "
