  • "My first time to lunch at the Vintana and I was not disappointed. My party of 4 all ordered something different and everyone truly enjoyed their food. The ambiance is great and the view is pleasant. Will definitely be back to try something different on the lunch menu."

  • " Food was wonderful, large portions and seasoned so expertly. Appetizer was sesame seed brie, wonderful presentation, was such a great balance of flavors. Main dish was Bruleed Pork Porterhouse , fig jam and pork belly brussel sprouts, sweet potato hash with prosciutto demi, and my wife had Chef Deborah's Chicken over blue cheese potato and green beans.. Server Aftan was great and attentive. Bar was stocked with the largest selection of Vodka's I've seen.The Cohn group has never let us down no matter the zip code of the restaurant.Fine dinning and beautiful cars, large selection of Vodka, great service and cutting edge Chef just doesn't get any better then that. Oh also they support local beer breweries' was good to see"

  • "Took a friend here who had never been. Really wanted "Skirts on Fire" (like at the old Kemo Sabe) but of course all they offer is the Skirts on Fire SALAD, so asked to have the meat on a separate plate and not sliced over the salad. This proved to be an excellent way to get an approximation of the old Skirts on Fire dish, and the remaining salad and sides were just fine without the meat. We finished up with the decadent Potted Brownie, and had this while finishing off a bottle of Coppala winery Pinot Noir. Good service and food, lovely venue, good conversation...what more can I ask for?"

  • "Wife and I went for anniversary. Been there twice before on different occasions. It's a nice place with a nice atmosphere. The staff is very nice, well trained. Stick to the appetizers and drinks of your choice and you can't go wrong. The dinner plates are not all that exciting. If you enjoy a lot of salt, I mean enough that it crunches in your teeth with each bite, have the Rib eye."

  • "Most five-star restaurants will not substitute in their menus. Vintana has always been willing to do this. Of course the food, atmosphere and service is always amazing. We asked them to switch from asparagus to green beans and they were most willing. One time the dinner came with wine, which we do not drink wine. They offered us a wonderful dessert instead. The steaks were cooked perfectly. This restaurant does it all!"

  • "I was concerned when my daughter's chicken came out under cooked. They did get her a new one and a dessert. My food was slightly cold and slightly under cooked. I've been here three times and typically it's good. My impression of the general manager drinking was not very becoming. He seemed wasted as he walked around the restaurant."

  • "I have eaten at Vintana several times but felt the service was not as good as usual. We were celebrating a birthday which I included in the reservation but the waiter had no knowledge of this. This time it was just a mediocre experience. I ordered the filet and asked for medium but it was pretty rare. Overall, not the best birthday experience."

  • "We went for my husband's birthday dinner. Beautiful table and view. Service was fabulous, she was very attentive and friendly. Food was wonderful and plenty of it. Manager came by every table to see how people were!!!! Very nice of her when she had 3 other functions going on as well."

The waiters/waitress, managers, greeters are all very nice and helpful not snobby for the high class type restaurant it is. Definitely will be returning, the excellent appetizers alone had me sold. Also met Congressman Juan Vargas! I was impressed with his genuine sociable personality!!"

  • "I took my wife to Vintana to celebrate her birthday. The service was outstanding, the food was absolutely delicious, and the ambience was great. Another enjoyable time at a Cohn restaurant (full disclosure, we were married at the Prado in March and have a soft spot in our hearts for Cohn restaurants). A couple of negatives that don't affect the overall feeling of the night. There was absolutely no parking except for the valet. I drove around the lot and structure 3 or 4 times before finally giving up and valeting the car. Didn't like that I felt forced to either wait 30+ min for a spot to open up or valet my car. Also, for such a great restaurant, they have a not so great beer list. You're in San Diego, embrace craft beer already."

  • "This is restaurant is a true gem of a find. I have dined here on at least 5 separate occasions and every dining experience has been wonderful. The food is consistently superbly prepared. The menu will easily satisfy all foodies and varied tastes. The wine list is extensive an the atmosphere is elegant but also casual. This venue satisfies all tastes and does it well. It is a great place to celebrate a special event. I love taking out of town visitors here. Deborah Scott and the Cohn group have another winner on their list of culinary collaborations."

Servers were all very nice but we had to wait a long time for cocktails and food. We had been to the restaurant a while back and really liked it but this time was a bit of a disappointment.   • "We had an early Friday lunch while picking up some parts for our Lexus. The hostess immediately took us to our reserved table with a view of the fountain. Service was prompt, courteous and the food was prepared to perfection. The menu always has some new items with spices and methods of preparation that are unique. Parking is convenient on the third level, but I would recommend coming early to beat the crowds. All in all a very pleasant experience."

  • "My second visit. The first time was with a group of five and everyone was pleased with the food, wine list and service. Second time (a couple) something drastic had happened to the sea bass. It was exquisitely prepared on my first visit, so I ordered it again, but both the bass and its sides were tasteless and terribly disappointing. My companion had the lobster mac & cheese and was very pleased, however. The salad was disappointing on the second visit, too -- practically no dressing and seemingly rather carelessly prepared. We asked them to split it, and my plate continued all of some ingredients, while my companion's had none. I would give this restaurant one more try, but definitely would not take another chance on the sea bass."

  • "From floor to ceiling windows to tables spaciously arranged to elegant lighting, Vintana has a soothing ambience. The menu has something for everyone. Vegetarians will find several dishes to choose from, not a throw-away selection of veggies, instead completely formulated dishes. One appetizer,, the mussels, serves well as a main dish, even for those with a good appetite. My husband's seared ahi was spectacular. My friend asked for a complicated set of substitutions to an already complicated dish, the filet mignon trio. The server and the kitchen got it all right on. I love all of Deborah Scott's restaurants."

  • "Took my wife there for her birthday dinner my reservation was at 6:45 pm . We were seated then we looked over the menu and placed our order for food withing 15 mins or so (charbroiled ribeye) we had a couple of drinks while we waited for our food our server was amazing . Everything was great overall except for the fact that it took about 1:30 to get our food . The manager came and apologized i and offers us free dessert but we don't really eat many sweets so she gave us some coupons, that very nice of her but it still took way longer than it should have to get our meal and pretty much ruined our rest of the evening plans. To sum it up it the food was great so was our server just took to long to get our food"
