His sense of humor and interest made for a very pleasant afternoon. We did not let it be known that we were celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary with a first time visit to Vintana. We are very happy to have selected this restaurant for our private little celebration.
Although somewhat pricey, the food was well prepared and presented. Great place with a wonderful, open ambiance. Contrary to a recent complaint we noted on your site, the portions were large!
We couldn't finish the hanger steaks,and the lime tart was pie sized.

They actually read the comments/requests we made with the reservation and acknowledged my birthday and gave us a great table. Our server,David was excellent. Offered great suggestions for all portions of our meal. Presentation of food was beautiful and said "Look me over carefully before eating". The shad screens rose about 5 minutes before a beautiful sunset, so we were not blinded while eating. Free valet parking was a nice beginning...great ambiance and greeted nicely upon entering. Nice table by the window. Fried artichoke hearts for appetizer was outstanding! Sea bass and mac/cheese with lobster & panchetta was just as wonderful. Salads were beautiful. Bread pudding was the only disappointment. Service was excellent without hovering. Outdoor dining was more casual with fire pits in many areas, quite flute background music and the option for private cabana dining areas. The view was very nice. We ordered the apple gouda sandwich, Carolina BBQ, and the flatbread special. We arrived before noon and the service was excellent until more people started showing up and then there was a definite slowdown in the service where we had to start waving down the server because he had too many tables. Yes, an auto dealership! But it is beautifully laid out and carefully arranged so that every table has a beautiful view. Their outdoor terrace is dominated by the view and by a centrally located, long fire pit at table level with room to sit around it. There are also a number of private cabanas on the terrace for small groups. The food was outstanding, not terribly pricey, and the wait staff is well organized so that every need is met yet the attention is not obtrusive. The view of the dealership parking lot below can be avoided by sitting back from the windows. Overall a very positive experience! Although only 1 offerering per course of appetizer, entree and dessert all 3 hit the favorites list for my husband which resulted in a shared dessert since it's not something we usually order. I tried the new (I think) lemon fettucine chicken which was delishes both Sunday and as an abundant left over for Monday lunch.
Although we were disappointed not to have been seated with our requested server (Carley) she did swing by to say hello. Our server, Alex, was very congenial, prompt, but not overbearing. I had the prawn salad as an entree, which was huge, enough to take some home for the next night. It was delicious with four or five large prawns. My husband had the ahi, and loved it. It came singed on the outside, rare on the inside. It was delish! Our friends were equally pleased with their meals.
On a final note, the manager, Celene (sp?), was delightful, seeing to our every need, and asking about previous experience. Had fried artichoke hearts & sushi roll. Both good, but not must have's! Had Chef Special Vegi dish and it was superb! Friend had chicken which she said was super. Favorite was the Brussel Sprouts and I would say that this is a must have as they were uniquely prepared & delicious. Desert was s'more and was great! I enjoy the dinner & will return. We requested and received a window table so we could enjoy the fountain view. The food was artistically prepared with twists on classic dishes. We had the baked brie, salmon Cesar salad, and the shrimp salad. Everything was delicious and our waitress happily split both salads (without extra charge) so we could both try each salad. The brought us a banana bread dessert topped with ice cream as a birthday treat.

Quality of our 3 different first courses and deserts was excellent, except one creme brulee was rushed and sugar crust was not crisped at all. Two roast beef main courses were overdone (1 requested MR and 1 requested med) to point that medium well serving was difficult to cut. Very large portions: baked potatoes must have been a pound each and large amount of brocolli. Plate looked like a family serving platter. This is not a generalization, as all other main courses I noted were not super-sized.
