  • "We had a great time celebrating my birthday at Vino! Service was great (chatting and joking around with master sommelier Chuck Furuya was a BIG bonus!). Absolutely enjoyed everything we ordered: Three Cheese Gnocchi, Veal Osso Buco, Pork Belly, Steamer Clams, Caesar Salad... simply delicious. Also, the recommended red wine flights were perfect pairings for our meal. Highly recommend for small and large groups alike. Thanks for a great night, Vino :)"

  • "Good for when you want quality food and wine. The veggie dishes were outstanding. . . charred broccoli, asparagus. Also, we re-ordered the crispy calamari twice. menu always changing so check out the specials But come here if you enjoy good wine. Owner Chuck helped us pick the perfect one that fit our taste and budget. Very knowledgeable sommelier. First time at Vino's, been to Hiroshi's before. I think Vino was a little more casual atmosphere. It was less formal and less expensive but same owner, same quality service."

  • "We went for Valentine's Day, so it was a set 5 course menu. 4 of the 5 courses were very good. Unfortunately, the Entree was terrible. It was a Pork dish that we were told was prepared Sous Vide. My guess is that they cooked it way too hot for too short of a time, as it was beyond Well Done, and very tough. In addition to that, it was so salty that no other flavor could come through. The wine pairings were excellent, but only paired 3 of the courses. My suggestion would be to offer 2 pairings, 1 that is for the "core" dishes, and 1 that pairs every course. Dinner was $49, and the 3 wine pairing was $15. I would have gladly paid an additional $10 for 2 more pairings."

  • "Did Valentine's day dinner here, thought they handled what can be a chaotic night (especially since V-day was a Friday) extremely well. They clearly put thought into how to present a 'special' and 'romantic' prix-fixe meal that wouldn't back up the kitchen OR feel like it was dished out from a steam-table, at a very modest price ($49). The $15 'wine pairing' that was offered with the meal was also nicely crafted. Service was well-paced, we never sat too long, but never felt rushed. Only off-notes were that unless you asked, they didn't change soiled silverware when changing courses, and they didn't always manage to get the wine pairing to the table at the same time as the course it matched. A good experience overall, would return"

  • "This is my favorite all-time restaurant. I made reservations before I knew that their Valentines dinner was going to be a Prix Fixe meal. That means that I wasn't going to get my favorite dishes; but I though that I would give it a try for this all important night. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent without being too heavy. We also added the wine pairing. The wine very much complemented the food; and it was wine that we wouldn't normally get at your neighborhood grocery store. Thank you Vino's for making my night perfect."

  • "We went for Valentine's day. They had a set menu with seafood and their normal menu was not available. They were able to accommodate me with steak in place of the seafood. If it wasn't for the substitute I would have not have ate there for this meal. Staff was friendly and there was room at the wine bar while we waited for our table. I would go again to try the everyday menu that they have available."

  • "On the night my wife and I visited Vinos they were trying something new by bringing around a cart or tray of food to make selections from. We actually liked the idea of being able to see and make food selections we otherwise may no have tried. The service was excellent and the wine was good as well. We will definitely visit this place again."

  • "We made our reservation one day prior to the birthday dinner for a friend. She cancelled her reservation at another restaurant due to a rude receptionist on the phone. This was an excellent last minute choice and turned out to be an excellent location for us first timers here. Great food at great price. Very nice service as well! Definitely will be back again especially for the best foie gras we've tasted in Hawaii!"

  • "We heard about this restaurant from some "wino" friends, who mentioned the Thursday wine tasting format. Although we chose not to participate in the tasting last Thursday (it's $39 each), we did have a delicious dinner and the service was very attentive and friendly. I love to cook, so it's sometimes a challenge to find restaurants that have unique cuisine, but this place really delivered! We'll be back (and tell all our Hawaii friends about it!)."

  • "We had wonderful evening..Chuck and Cheryl , the owners are wonderful..very helpful when deciding on wines...The servers really work together which is a nice quality..Our dinner was fantastic..they have a great ceaser salad and the sea bass was so moist and delicious...my favorite is the kabocha filled ravioli with big tasty shrimp on top.. They have home made bread which is to die for... Parking is always easy, in the lot or on the street so that is so convient... I would highly recommend Vino for any occasion...Aloha..."

  • "Food was excellent! Service was lacking at the beginning and at the end of dinner. The waiter did not greet us and offer cocktails or wine to us for more than 10 minutes after being seated and we had to flag him down.. The same thing happened at the end of the meal when we were offered dessert menus and he never came back to take the order for at least 15 minutes and that's a very long time."

  • "Great hospitality from Chuck and Cheryl. The fresh pastas were cooked to perfection paired with exciting sauces. The crusty Italian house made bread was exceptional. The calamari was one of the best I have ever had. Loved the selection of Italian wines by the glass. Chuck is indeed the master! This was our first visit (why did we wait so long???). We will definitely return! Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories of our vacation in Italy. Well done!"

  • "We tried the burata cheese with some fresh baked bread. Amazing! For entree we ordered off the daily specials menu: grilled bellie of lamb with cream of cauliflower and blueberrs, truffled mac and cheese and lobster with corn panacota. I was very disapointed with the lamb. The fat was charred and very bitter, the meat was tough to chew. The truffled mac and cheese, although a great idea, tasted a bit bland. Simple dash of salt and peper would have probably fixed that. The lobster was quite yummy. We had some carrot cake and apple tart for dessert. Delicious! Great wine selection! And the bill didn't break our bank. Great value!"

  • "We made an 8pm reservation, but before long we were being rushed to make decisions from the menu as they were trying to close the kitchen by 9pm. We were celebrating my 50th and we really didn't want to hurry through dinner. The food was good and the wine list was diverse, but not as good as I remember from previous trips to Oahu and Vino. All in all this was a good meal, but nothing to write home about and certainly didn't want to be rushed through it. Interestingly other folks were showing up for drinks, but the kitchen wanted to close so as diners I guess we were just out of luck. So either come earlier (which wasn't an option for us) or find another spot if you want a leisurely dinner."

  • "We had given up on italian food in Honolulu, but Vino's has restored some of our faith! We really enjoyed the small tapas-style dishes, and the mini-Osso Buco and sausage ragu were also quite good. We hope they keep their regular menu, even when they go over to complete-tapas style servings (as they warned they will do soon). The wine choice, especially the smaller serving sizes, were also welcome, as we could try many types. Overall, a great experience!"

  • "Went to Vino's for Restaurant Week, and got their specialty prix fixe menu. The food was plated very nicely, the portions were decent, and the flavor and texture were very complimentary. The wine pairings were solid. The reason this only gets three stars is the service. The busboys were fairly prompt about water refills, but that was about it. The maitre'd was very polite, she brought us our wine pairings and more bread when she noticed we were low. However, her quick service highlighted the extreme slowness of the food. We sat with our first wine pairing for almost 30 minutes waiting for the first course to arrive, then waited another 45 min for our second course to arrive. No apology from the waiter. May return in the future."

  • "Vino provided a prix fixe menu that was pleasing to all of our senses! I happen to be dining with a friend who doesn't like seafood but after eating the Crispy Shell-On Shrimp, she is a convert! We both agreed that we would be coming back to check out other menu items. On the flip-side, there was a large party of women near us who were a bit boisterous. This did not distract us from the superb meal and service! We will simply request a table away from larger parties on our subsequent visits."

  • "Went to Vino for a night out with the spouse and our infant daughter. We couldn't be more pleased with Vino. We like the small plates menu as it really gave us a chance to sample many different dishes. The specials were awesome and the wines on offer were fantastic. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff and the sommelier worked the room and was available, friendly and eager to assist his guests in picking just the right one on offer. We sampled a lot of dishes, all truly delicious and well priced for the quality. Although a "Wine Bar", the restaurant is very accommodating for those with kids (we also were not the only ones with an infant in tow). Parking is easy since it is in Restaurant Row. We're definitely going to become regulars!"

  • "Chef Keith Endo is a master of Italian tapas (small plates). Master Sommalier Chuck Furuya presides over an incredible wine celler and delivers a personalized wine service second to none. A must in Honolulu if you like good food, good wine and a truly satifying dining experience. Seven of us enjoyed 11 courses which were expertly paired with eigth bottles of mature Italian and French wines. Adjacent sister restaurant Hiroshi's delivers the same experience with top notch Eurasian tapa cuisine."
