Diner Reviews
  • "Our waiter was outstanding. The food was great, well prepared and presentation was lovely. We didn't have to wait long for service or our food. I will definitely be back and would recommend to others."

  • "One of my clients recommended this restaurant. Very good Italian food. I went with the cannelloni and a salad. Great wine list. Waiter knew all of the ingredients when I asked about the meat inside the cannelloni. He even recommended what I should have the next time, a pasta made inside of a cheese round. Sounds interesting!"

  • "Great restaurant with a good wine list and knowledgeable staff. And not too pricey."

  • "My food has always been outstanding at Vesuvio. Waiter was a bit "quick to the draw" on this particular occasion, heading to take away my fiance's plate before he was finished with his meal, salad and meal overlapping. However, overall a GREAT dining experience!"

  • "What a pleasant discovery of a fine Italian dining venue in the old El Chico location on Rodney Parham. The food was excellent as was the service. The owner checked on us several times and explained menu items. Overall an outstanding experience."

  • "Vesuvio is on my list of 5 top restaurants in Little Rock."

  • "Everything was outstanding-from the taste and quality of the food, to the wine list, to the service. We enjoyed our visit here and will probably be back on another special occasion. We weren't disappointed."

  • "We have visited Vesuvio Bistro at its previous location in the Best Western. The new location is larger with more room between tables. The food we had was very good. The menu has food from all regions of Italy; not heavy on the Southern Italian style which is often the case at Italian restaurants. The wine list is quite impressive. We started with the spinach almond salad. My husband had the tuna and I had the tilapia piccata. Everything was prepared and presented well. We did not have room for desert. Our server, Flora, gave us great service and was helpful with the menu."

  • "All made from scratch and presented with passion by the servers. I'll keep going back. Piano player had excellent repertoire and made atmosphere great."

  • "Menu sounded delicious but recommended specials were what we picked this time. Soft music, attentive staff and flavorful food. We will go back for more memory making for the two of us."

  • "The evening was very enjoyable with a group of friends. Atmosphere was quiet enough that we could hear everyone talk no matter where you sat. Even when the piano music started, it was not overpowering. Food was superb and cooked per our request. Service was done with excellence. Overall, all of us would return and would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Finally Little Rock has a 5 star Italian restaurant. Outstanding specials, pasta, appetizers, desert. There really is a difference between a spaghetti house and gourmet Italian."

  • "Awesome food and service; I do miss the cozy feeling experience from prior location! Still, a great place to dine and for special occasions, particularly if larger group."

  • "Went on recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Excellent way to celebrate our 28th anniversary. Had the ahi tuna which was the daily special. Also the tiramisu and cannoli were fantastic. Will be back for sure."

  • "Food and service were both first rate and our group of six enjoyed every aspect of the experience. Two of us are restaurant owner/operators from other cities and have high expectations which were met and exceeded."

  • "Vesuvio has become our favorite dining spot in Little Rock. The atmosphere is lovely with a live piano player playing beautifully in the background. We love 1620 Savoy, Ashley's and Table 28, but Vesuvio's has the best menu. The other places seem limited on their offerings and seem to be trying to hard to be exotic (quail, rabbit, etc.). Vesuvio has plenty of class yet has a menu that keeps you constantly trying something new. Wonderful!"

  • "We like the new location even more than the old. Uniformly attentive service and good food."

  • "Excellent food with great service. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive."

  • "Very much enjoyed the food and the service was outstanding. One of the specials (linguini con vongole) was prepared with a white wine sauce, I preferred a garlic cream sauce and they were happy to accommodate and it was delicious. "

  • "Enjoy wine from Italy and inspired salads while being attended to by wait staff who are personable and informative. The live piano was a nice touch."

  • "While the prices are a bit pricey, they are worth the cost especially if it is a special occasion. Service was excellent. Waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and personable. We live in the general area so this makes it a very convenient place for us. "

  • "Celebrated 2 birthdays. It was so nice to be able to talk and hear each other without screaming! So many restaurants are SO noisy nowadays. Food was excellent and our server was great. I had the pesto ravioli .... It was simple and divine. Just what I wanted. Another outstanding dish was the lamb special ... Cooked perfectly and delicious. I enjoyed my Cosmopolitan martini - just perfect!"

  • "Our anniversary! Started out with a cocktail at the bar and enjoyed talking to the Dan the bartender. We were seated in the bar area, which has a nice piano in the center of the area. No one playing that night, but when there is, low-key. The wine list was very extensive. I had the lobster ravioli and shrimp special and my wife had the sea bass. Both dishes were excellent. We shared a pistachio gelato and a marvelous panna cotta with fresh berries. Not overly sweet. The lasagna and pasta dishes are always good also. We have dined here in the past, and the staff and service is consistently great. Santo, who is Italian, comes by your table periodically to check on your food and service. Highly recommend for date night and special occasions. "

  • "And it won't be my last. Best salad I've ever had - spinach with spiced pecans, pears, goat cheese, and a blood orange vinaigrette dressing. It was a special. My dining companions had the sea bass special and raved about it. I had the Ahi tuna. I have seen comments about prices, but this restaurant isn't meant to compete with Olive Garden. It offers upscale Italian food. "

  • "We were four, each having a different dish. While the Cesar salad was fine, the spinach with goat cheese salad was excellent. The traditional guitar pasta was excellent, as were the swordfish paillards. Two ordered the specials - both were excellent, except of a minimal amount of grit in the sea scallops. Serving sizes were just right. The service was outstanding. "

  • "Always in our travels, my wife and I try to find a great Italian restaurant in the city we're visiting. We were certainly successful in Little Rock. Excellent service and certainly some of the best food we've had. The owner came to our table and partially served one dish. He had just the right combination of friendliness and gratitude we came in addition to an air of confidence in the quality of his restaurant. Prices were surpisingly low; we would have paid more for what we received at this gem. Can't wait to go back."

  • "I was craving some carbos. They have a delicious spaghetti, mushroom, Parmesan dish and some dislish gnocchi. Filled the bill with a decent Greek salad and some good red wine. "

  • "One of the best filets (steaks) you can get in Little Rock, despite everything else you'll hear about steaks in Little Rock. I've eaten there my whole life and still think this one is up there. The Spaghetti Chitarra is absolutely amazing! Me and dates usually split the spaghetti dish and each get a filet. great meal!"

  • "I have to say my dish was excellent. Don't remember the name, but it was a pasta with mushrooms that they prepare in this $1000 cheese 'barrel' that lasts 4-5 weeks. Rich, but really good. Being a visitor to L.R., this place reminds me of a great neighborhood joint that has a loyal following. I think it needs a update in terms of ambiance, piano is a nice touch, but the song selection and quality was a little low. "

  • "Vesuvio is a family favorite for celebration dinners from birthdays, Mothers Day, marathons, etc. I have never had a disappointing experience and I have recommended this restaurant to many who have also not be disappointed. I heart Vesuvio."

  • "This is our second trip to Vesuvio's and this time we took our adult children for an early Mother's day dinner. We arrived on time, were seated immediately, and the wait staff immediately appeared. We had the same waiter as last time, Andrew, who is extremely professional and very knowledgeable about the menu. He remembered us from our last visit and even remembered most of what we ordered. This is a great place to take your time and enjoy several different dishes, all of which were superb. I would definitely recommend Vesuvio's to anyone wanting a fine dining experience in Little Rock. The service, food, and ambience is first rate and the pecans are to die for. Oh the pecan's!"

  • "What a wonderful surprise this nice restaurant was! We had the the specials for the evening...for me the gnocchi was superb. We visited on our way to Memphis and liked it so well, we decided to stop in Little Rock and Vesuvio for a return visit on our drive back to Oklahoma City. "

  • "We went to Vesuvio recently on the recommendation of a friend. It was delicious!!!! There were so many things I wanted to try on the menu. My husband and I both loved our meals. And our waiter, Vinny, was great. We'll be back. "

  • "Great food. Gnocchi, lamb, salads, crab cake, wine, and flora were excellent. You cannot go wrong!! Parmesan bowl demo looked amazing. Don't know real name on menu but ask you service other table said it was amazing and it looked fabulous. "

  • "I arranged a surprise birthday dinner for my sister's 40th birthday. I walked in to a very romantic atmosphere. The area reserved for my party was beautiful and set apart. The Bruschetta was complimentary to the reservation as well as bread and olive tampanade. The majority of my party was obviously out of their element, yet the designated server "HanK" was patient and so awesome!!! He took the time to answer every question nicely. We weren't rushed, we took tons of pictures, and no one was annoyed. They maximized our potential to have a great fine by going with our flow. There was a table set aside for the cake and presents, without requesting. The experience was better than great!!!"

The nightly specials are always extremely good. Price point has lots of variety from pasta dishes to steaks so there is something for every budget."

  • "We had a wonderful young attentive waiter named Vinny. The wine was delicious. The bread was tasty as it was sourced from a local European bakery. Best ciabatta in town though..... Greek Salad- Tasty Crab cake- Poor dish- burnt not much crab present Veal- Poor shoe leather cut with grain Ribeye- best dish of the night still average needed the sweet element from the Caramelized onion to cut the Gorgonzola. Lasagna- in edible over cooked pasta and red sauce was tasteless. Creme brûlée- fair Molten Chocolate Cake-fair "
