  • "Went on a recommendation & it was great. The décor is really great & inviting. It's open to outside patios & very open. The charcuterie board was great. Lots of selection. Had the fresh grouper & it was fantastic! The grits was great...even my husband liked it. He said it was gouda. :) He had the NY Strip & it was great. Well seasoned but not over the top. Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar ended the night wonderfully. Our server was great & she gave great suggestions. We will be back for more Grub!"

  • "An overall good dining experience, with no notable complaints. Parking in 12S can be a hassle, so the drive-up valet service is convenient. The hostess area was extremely accommodating. I called in ahead to explain we'd be a bit late for our reservation, and we were nonetheless seated immediately upon arrival during the busiest dinner time. We also had 3 people show up instead of the projected 5, and they didn't flinch or make a big deal about it; they just seated us promptly. Great local and craft beer selection. Nice food variety. Our waiter was jovial and personable. Ended up paying around $50 (tip included) to share 2 appetizers, eat a tasty main entree of shrimp and grits, and drink 2 high gravity beers; not cheap, but reasonable."

  • "VERY DISAPPOINTED - I came specifically for their "All You Can Eat" boiled crawfish, which according to their website would begin serving at 4pm. They sold out before my reservations at 5pm because they served the crawfish for lunch!! I reluctantly decided to try something else. I tried their Charcuterie menu which is a create-your-own platter. The food was not terrible but portions were tiny (think tapa's style menu). What was bad about the food was the salt level. Everything I had was quite salty, not just one or two dishes. The two guests I brought with me thought the same thing. Great chefs will tell you, bad cooks will use salt and sugar to mask their incompetency."

  • "Last year when we visited Nashville we discovered this place but failed to get a reservation at the last minute so we were determined to plan ahead when we returned to the area. It's such a popular place that even though we tried to reserve a table at 6:30 a few days before our arrival, the best we could do was 5:00! But...it was worth eating early! We enjoyed filet, asparagus, & Mac & cheese with lobster! Our food was awesome and so was our server. Can't wait to go back, later!"

  • "Visited this restaurant on a Wednesday night, 3/26, and overall a good experience but a couple of areas the restaurant needs to focus to be a great restaurant: Service was slow and waited over 25 minutes for appetizers to be served and over 30 minutes for dinner to be served. The rest of the restaurant looked to be moving slow as well but servers seemed clueless that people were waiting longer than needed for food. Good high energy atmosphere but music along with the overall crowd noise made it about impossible to hold a conversation. Need to either lower the music a bit or install some noise reducing features. Good twists on Southern and great beer list."

  • "Pork chop remains one of better menu choices. Halibut special was very tasty although slightly overcooked. Biscuits were served late and were cold and dry. Nice selections of wine served by the glass, quartino or half bottle are overpriced for the quantity of wine served. Service was slow to start, water and drink orders took longer than necessary. Our waiter was extremely rude and almost combative when taking our orders. The manager had another waiter take check on our table for dessert order. We were then bombarded by busboys and runners for the remainder of our meal. With one additional snarky comment, the rude waiter dropped the basket of biscuits off at our table midway through our dinner. Will not return."

  • "I believe the owner of the Urban Grub sat my mom and I when she came into town for a visit; His wife makes the desserts and pastry for the restaurant. The level of service and his love for his menu was extraordinary. He spend quite some time helping us choose a wonderful bottle of wine to complement our evening and we were truly grateful! I want to thank the entire staff for a wonderful evening. I would come back again and again! I work for the Hyatt that just opened down and I constantly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "I went for oysters and was not disappointed. so fresh they still had a baby crab crawling on the shell. the rest of the food was good. the crab appetizer was a little dry on top but once you got down into the chips it was good. manager was walking around checking everyone's meals. recommend especially if you love fresh oysters in Nashville."

Took our out of town friends from Ohio, back in January, and sat outside by the fireplace...impressive. They are still talking about it. It doesn't feel like Nashville, has more of a California vibe and we love it!"

  • "We really like this place and the food is exceptional. However, for the first time (this was our 5th time there), our service was not up to par at all. The noise level is so high that we weren't able to hear each other, even at a small table for 4. This is the second time I've experienced an almost intolerable noise level there, and I hate that because I have really enjoyed this place in the past."

  • "What a treat for a Saturday night supper. We were seated outside for a pleasant surprise with some great heaters that made a little chilly night perfect !! Food and service was outstanding . Started out with some type of popovers with jelly -- over the top ! Ended with to die for donuts dipped in sauce. We also got greeted by Garth the manager -- another treat. Can't wait to go back !"

Our waiter was very enthusiastic, cheerful, and helpful when deciding between 2 appetizers and letting us what Urban Grub was famous for as we ordered. The signature cocktails were delightful. The service was excellent and when our appetizers were slow getting to the table because of delays in the kitchen the restaurant comped them which was above and beyond what was expected. The double pork chop was delicious, as was the shrimp and grits, the trout was tender and moist and the salmon was delectable. The desserts looked delicious,but there was such an abundance of food that we had no room left."

  • "FRUSTRATING.Our party of 6 had an 8:45 reservation and were told that if we did not arrive within 15 minutes of our reservation time with 80% of our party, the reservation would be given to someone else. We arrived about 10 minutes early with our whole party. The restaurant was crowded but we were told they were bussing our table; 45 minutes later we were STILL waiting on a table. We were finally seated at an outside table. Props to the waiter Wilson and manager Garth who brought a few apps as an apology. Then, we didn't get an appetizer that we ordered & 3 of the entrees came out cold and had to be sent back. A few things were stellar - Scott at the bar, Wilson's attempts to fix problems and the donuts to finish the meal."

  • "I've been a handful of times now and each time has been deliciously fresh, flavorful food. Fabulous wine list and great atmosphere. My only complaint is this time we went, my fiance' ordered a gin & tonic that only tasted of watered down tonic. We sent it back and the server came back with the same drink - it tasted exactly the same - so he just ordered a beer instead. Otherwise- fantastic experience...."

We couldn't get a babysitter so we decided to bring our three-year-old along [she's kind of a foodie (she refuses to drink out of plastic cups) - so she's pretty well behaved] for the experience. The staff treated her with exceptional care and never appeared dismayed that we brought her along. They were great! My steak was cooked perfectly and the grits were a must-try. Enjoy!"

  • "Urban Grub is good if you are in your early twenties, you don't mind waiting in line for a bathroom for 15 minutes and you can scream over a table to hear your friends talk. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat but the menu is too broad and the food is just average. The waiter and manager were very nice but my main question is this: Why on earth would you only put 2 stalls in a restaurant that size?"
