Diner Reviews
  • "I have eaten at Tucci a number of times and have never been disappointed with food and service. Many options for wine by the glass and reasonably priced. Our group ordered a house salad with grilled salmon, caesar salad with grilled prawns and penne with sauce bolognese. The salads were crispy with minimal dressing and well prepared salmon and prawns. sauce bolognese was meaty and flavorful. Service was attentive."

  • "Had lunch there with a friend on Sunday (7/20). We both had Gorgonzola Penne, and it was so delicious! For dessert, my friend had the chocolate polenta cake, which she said was amazing. I can't remember the name of mine, but it had fresh strawberries and peaches in zabaglione with cream on top and a chocolate butterfly. The presentation was really lovely. Our server was awesome. She always showed up at the right time and was very attentive and pleasant. I had told her we were going to a play at the Lakewood at 2pm, and she kept her eye on the clock so we weren't late leaving the restaurant. The whole dining experience - sitting at a patio table, good food, good wine, yummy dessert, excellent service - was enjoyable...:)"

  • "Thank you, a very nice dinner with friends although the table was tight with four people with water, wine glasses, etc."

  • "We chose Tucci's for our anniversary dinner and the experience once again exceeded our expectations. The food is incredibly prepared and the service is phenomenally attentive. Our server made an excellent wine suggestion that paired perfectly with our dinner selections. We had the scallops as a starter and they were exquisitely prepared."

  • "Visiting from out of town, we took locals to this restaurant for the birthday celebration of one of them. It turned out to be a memorable experience with excellent food and good service. The venue is lovely. We split two meals among four of us and with shared desserts we went away quite full."

  • "We took our friends including 2 high school students and everyone enjoyed their dinner. Service was exceptional and we all agreed it was the best meal ever. We were seated in a quiet area were we could all hold a conversation. Excellent desserts."

  • "Food quality, food service, supportive staff, wine and food pricing very competitive and quite fair. Entire staff very attentive and work very well together, and go out of their way to accommodate customers with special needs or handicaps. Parking ease is wonderful. Tucci Ristorante is our family favorite."

  • "We've been to Tucci's many times over the years, and when our son graduated from college this past week we decided to have our family dinner there. The wait staff could not have been any more attentive, unfortunately the food was lacking. We'll keep trying to support Tucci's but I'm not sure for how much longer if the food doesn't improve."

  • "Tucci's remains a great Lake Oswego restaurant. I had orchiette with hot italian sausage yum. layers of flavor. Their broccoli rabe is also great."

  • "A special occasion turned into an evening of embarrassment. We sent back an order of fried calamari that was over cooked only to receive a replacement that was a pasty looking bunch instead of golden brown. The linguini had no true flavor. Our waiter was busy with a large group outside and we had to ask the bus boy to refill our drinks. Just not what I had hoped for."

  • "Had a wonderful dinner, however the one thing I was going to order they were out of."

  • "Friendly, helpful service. Warm, inviting atmosphere. Food was not as good as the service and atmosphere, but was good. Patio option for nice weather is a plus. Linguini with clams was nice, orechiette(SP?) with sausage and bitter greens had excellent components but was served absolutely dry (no olive oil, broth, nothing). We brought the leftover home and once I doctored it with excellent quality lemon olive oil and sea salt it was delicious. Soup and salad starters were good, though the salad could've used a bit more dressing for our taste. We didn't try a dessert, but they sounded delicious. Overall, I would go back for the atmosphere, with lower expectations on food. (For comparison, our go-to italian place is Mingo)"

  • "A great wine list, beautiful outdoor patio for dining, in the heart of Lake Oswego, with stunning food. My orchiette was cooked perfectly and complimented the broccoli rabe's tartness. This is my fave of all Portland."

  • "I took my family there for mothers day and it was an absolutely amazing dinner. Service was funny, hospitable, fun. The ambiance was nice - low lit, romantic, and all around comfortable. The food was really good. Their drinks were really good too as well as their dessert. This will definitely be our "Italian" spot! "

  • "We enjoyed a surprisingly good dinner at Tucci. It had been several years since our last dining experience there, and my general impression had been one of style over substance. The Caesar salad was outstanding and more than large enough for two to share. My spaghetti carbonara was very good. My daughter's filet mignon was beautiful, tender, and perfectly cooked. Both of us might have ordered the spaghetti with meatballs, but it was priced at $27.00. For that price, one would expect the meatballs to rock their world. Since we were not confidant that would be the case, we made other choices. The restaurant itself is lovely and relaxing, and the service was excellent."

  • "Nice, quiet, quant restaurant. Service was great. I had wished there were more options on the menu for lunch. The menu seemed a bit limited. "

  • "I ordered the bone in Pork Chops and expected a think, juicy cut as found in most "high end" establishments. What I got were two, thin, small dry chops that could have been purchased at the local market. Definitely, not a dish I would recommend to others."

  • "I always look forward to dining at Tucci's. The food is always superb, the service outstanding & the ambience is perfect. "

  • "Lunched in the outdoor garden-pleasant setting, but stay away from street if possible. Noisy trucks occasionally ply the streets of lovely Lake O. Risotto balls were beautiful and tasty, as was their polenta with sausage. Caesar salad lettuce a bit rusty and dressing not flavorful. Needed more lemon juice, and would have loved to see anchovies at least offered in a restaurant of this caliber. Waiter did confirm, after the fact, that they had them. Oh yes, the waiter. I ordered a soda. It didn't come. Friend ordered a latte. It didn't come. When we had almost finished our three course meal we finally flagged him down and got them. Just in time for the bill. Only a couple other occupied tables so they weren't THAT busy. "

  • "I note that you have many older clients in the restaurant. We don't deal so well with the competition over music. Do you think that less hard surface, music volume turned down...etc. might help. My husband who is 83 and I am 68 had dinner and my husband could hardly be heard by our grandson. Otherwise, it was lovely. Given the choice I would probably fix dinner at home next time. • "I always enjoy Tucci's. I went with friends the other night and we had a lovely meal. We ordered off the Happy Hour menu and the regular menu. The special pizza was great and I loved my Rissoto. Great good."

  • "Overall we had a great experience. We had reservations @ 6:15 and when we arrived we were promptly seated. Our server was very attentive and engaged throughout our dining experience. My husband ordered the spaghetti with meatballs, which he enjoyed but couldn't finish (very generous portions) and I ordered the pasta with pesto, tomato and shrimp. My pasta was good though I felt lacked a bit of seasoning. I also would have liked to have been offered some fresh shredded Parmesan. We finished by sharing a slice of cheesecake. Decadent! :)"

  • "While visiting from out of state we were looking for a nice restaurant near our hotel. Online reviews led us to Tucci's. Great service, delicious meals artfully plated (scallops and lamb ragu were our choices). Desserts were memorable!"

  • "We always enjoy Sunday brunch and Happy Hour. This Saturday lunch didn't quite cut it. Not busy, but the kitchen and only server couldn't keep up. Server very pleasant but flustered. Slow getting food. No one tending bar. Table and chairs all wobbly, but they were perfectly happy to move us or find a fix. Still, we always enjoy the ambiance. Food was all good this time but not great. Salads and pastas fresh and flavorful. The patio is lovely when the weather is warmer. Restrooms are a gem. Not our best experience there, but we'll be back."

  • "Some dishes were excellent-- a salad, the scallops and mussels were all wonderful. An appetizer of proscuitto was lousy--thickly cut, cheese in chunks instead of shaved. A special NY steak was properly cooked, but tougher than it should have been with no interesting sauce and so very boring. Service was great."

  • "Birthday dinner for Wife. She ordered the carbonara and I had the mushroom risotto with duck and truffle oil. both meals were excellent and our waitress was friendly and attentive, just the right amount. She even chased us down outside the restaurant to give me my leftovers. Above and beyond the call of duty. Great experience."

  • "thoroughly enjoyed meal and our waitress, Jennifer, was excellent - felt a little rushed by after server removing plates we had not finished! had a 7pm reservation and experience was leisurely but still felt rushed as it approached (did not reach) the 9pm closing hour."

  • "We celebrated a birthday at Tucci. The atmosphere was splendid. It could easily be an intimate/romantic spot. The restaurant was full but the noise level was low so we could hear each other speak. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was attentive and polite. The papardelle are great and the salad that comes with dinner is delicious. My octopus was disappointing so I will order the mussels next time (and there will definitely be a next time!). I look forward to sampling everything on the menu, eventually! This is an excellent restaurant for casual or intimate dining. Lake Oswego is fortunate to have this gem in their midst. Good luck, Tucci. I hope you are here to stay! The soft Italian music in the background was very enjoyable. -Paula"

  • "We dined at lunch on Monday. There were maybe four or five small parties dining. Our service was mostly absent. We had to flag people down for beverage refills. No one asked how our meal was Or if we needed anything else. No dessert was offered. We needed flag and ask. When more hot water was requested for tea no offering of another tea bag. The minestrone soup was marvelous with a hint of pepper. We split a crab avocado sandwich and left hungry. It was a very small open faced sandwich on one piece of bread about six inches long. Barely enough for one person. It would have been helpful if the server had warned us. The menu description certainly didn't help. Perhaps this is an issue only at lunch."
