A word from Tria Restaurant, Bar & Event Center
Warm. Fresh. Real. Everything at Tria... from the seasonal, made-from-scratch, fresh food, friendly service to the warm and inviting ambience was designed to deliver these three simple qualities. From the moment you enter, it is apparent that Tria is not your ordinary restaurant. The natural woods and stone, wood-burning fireplaces, art and accessories all depict Tria's commitment to creating a delightful dining experience for their guests, offering something for everyone. The menu is fresh regional American and the extensive wine list was created to provide both selection and value (finally a restaurant that provides both!). Recognized as one of the "Twin Cities Best New Restaurants" by Mpls/St.Paul Magazine, the list of accolades continues to grow. You might say that Tria, like their wine, gets better with age. So if you're looking for a night out with someone special, dinner with the family, entertaining clients, or simply enjoying a quick bite with friends, come visit Tria!Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "The menu looks so inviting and I was excited about trying this spot. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The dining area has little ambiance or comfort. The bar area is extremely noisy and and drafty. Though it looked inviting, we were advised against using the outdoor patio because the nearby pond makes it "buggy" in the evening. We ended up sitting in the bar area. The service was extremely slow, inattentive and nearly non existent. Our waiter had to be flagged down any time we needed him and we felt like we were bothering him. They ran out of the Wellington and the escargot was smothered in cheese and overtly chewy. The med rare venison was well done shoe leather and they charge extra for blu cheese olives in the already $9 martini."

  • "Tria has a clubby atmosphere and serves a range of American dining classics. The walleye and salmon are always good. Salad portions have shrunk over the years, but the flavors are very good. The patio is great--it is a true patio, not a piece of sidewalk! The bar has booths and is cozy, and often crowded, in the cold months. Specials (wine and champagne) for birthdays and anniversaries . Friendly to all ages, but the prices and location tend to draw an older (affluent retirement) crowd."

  • "We have enjoyed Tria for several years. It's our favorite place to go for our anniversary. We like to go there when we just want a really nice dinner . The staff always makes you feel welcome. Over all, a great experience."

  • "We visited on a Sunday around 11:30 am. They serve brunch until 4 so we worried it would be packed, but it wasn't (they love if you make reservations). The servers were helpful and friendly and sat us in an area that met our needs (you can ask to sit in a certain section). I had chicken and waffles, the others had creme brûlée French toast and we split an order of Parmesan leek hashbrowns. The food was quite tasty, but the prices are a bit high (especially for certain items such as their salads)--without ordering drinks, it cost $50 for 3 of us so plan on spending at least that. I'd consider going back for special occasions or if we received another gift card."

  • "I would not necessarily call it a brunch as the Sunday menu is so complete. Free Mimosa/or champagne as well as beignet's are wonderful. The servers continue to impress even on a Sunday morning!"

  • "We had nine for dinner. We like Tria because it has really great food but is quiet enough to allow conversation. An excellent evening"

  • "We have been to Tria several times and recently took a customer there for dinner. The waiter we had was very knowledgeable but very slow. During a previous visit we had this same waiter and our dinner took over 3 hours. We arrived early and brought a beverage from the bar to our table. When our guests arrived we were seated and waited over 15 minutes for our waiter to bring our guests a drink. We had appetizers that were delicious but then waited about 45 minutes for our waiter to take our dinner order. This pace continued throughout our dinner. We may have tried dessert but felt it would take too long."

  • "Tria is one of our very favorite places to eat .. well, it is probably our Very favorite! Yummy food, served on plates looking very artistic and special, superb service with knowledgeable and fun servers, everyone there warm and friendly. Variations on the menu from time to time makes each visit interesting. And for a special celebration, it was absolutely the best, even with a blizzard going on last April! We will return ... and we continually recommend it to others."

  • "I don't know why we have not found this great place before. Food was excellent and our waiter was good, fun, and liked to learn how and where the food came from when we asked."

  • "I chose Tria to celebrate my birthday because you get a free bottle of wine with a price matching your age. I was pleased with the long list I had to choose from. The special red wine I chose for the meal was great! However, I would not go again. Our starters were crab cakes ($11), and fras gras ($12). I ordered a glass of white wine to accompany my appetizer and waited long after the appetizers came for the waiter to bring the wine (after a reminder). The appetizers were not great & over priced. Happily, our steaks were perfectly cooked. The waiter brought a birthday dessert to share. It was good, but he did not offer a dessert menu to my husband who would have chosen his dessert. We had a great inside table. It was quiet."

  • "We really felt special and very much at home, thanks to the attentiveness and down-to-earth friendliness of the woman who waited on our table."

  • "Very slow. Our waiter never did ask us if we wanted anything to drink. No coffee offered. This was disappointing. Then, he boxed the incorrect meal for home. He did not interact with us - we felt ignored."

  • "Great food great service at a fair price. Dined outdoors and it made it even nicer. Celebrated our anniversary and was treated to dessert. Will definitely return but more often."

  • "We went to celebrate birthdays and the subtract your age feature allowed us to have a very nice bottle of wine with our dinner."

  • "Close to home, great waitress who took good care of us and even handled a food allergy. Provided an anniversary dessert. Food was pricey as we got 2 scallops for $10, won't do that again! But it was a great evening on the patio."

  • "I have been there before for apps, dinner and brunch and it is generally good. We were there for a later (8 pm) dinner on a rainy Saturday night. Service was not attentive. Took forever to get beverages or place our order. It was after the dinner rush - where was everyone? Food took a long time. My risotto was cold - but again, no server to check on us so I couldn't send it back. Not impressed at all - felt like we were an inconvenience."

  • "We have experienced some very disappointing dining experiences over the last couple of years, but decided to try them again. We were very pleasantly surprised. Had a good waiter - it did get busy and service slowed a little, but overall he was much better than we've had and we were very pleased. The food was great (Trout and steak). We were celebrating a special birthday and were disappointed to find they now have a separate wine list for such events and none of the wines on this list were on the main wine list. We thought for sure these were going to be cheap and nasty wines with jacked up prices. Again, very pleasantly surprised to find a $62 bottle of Merlot was extremely nice. Overall had a most enjoyable evening - we'll be back."

  • "On the patio Friday night. It's a great setting-- stone floor, a variety of table sizes, umbrellas on some. Fine drinks-- Death's Door Martini is excellent. I had the bouillabaisse-- very nicely done. I love the beet salad, although the Caesar and the wedge salads also look great. The comfort food in the form of their wild rice meatloaf is great. My wife has a habit of ordering one of their steaks-- consistently terrific. There is a fine sense of welcome at Tria that pervades the place. It's a comfortable and easy place to be. "

  • "I would give a more favorable recommendation if either the food had been a step or two better or the prices 30% lower. "

  • "The first time I ate at Tria, I asked the waiter for vegan suggestions. He talked to the chef, and I had a wonderful vegan dinner. I was so impressed, I came back a week later, with a writer visiting the Twin Cities to see a production of his play. This time, when I asked the waiter for vegan suggestions, he was completely unhelpful. He told me to order side vegetables. What a disappointment, and such a difference from my first experience. Also, despite having made reservations on a Wednesday night, I arrived to discover that we'd have to sit inside. They couldn't have a place available for us outside on a beautiful evening? Really? I won't be going back."

  • "When we made reservations we wrote on there 40th anniversary. It would have been nice for the hostess or our server to know that without us having to tell them when we got there. It would add that special touch. We did enjoy the meal and the free desert and Champagne was a nice touch. "

  • "We are regulars at Tria and have noticed a definite decline in service and quality of food over the past few months. Our server seemed irritated with us from the start. When we ordered martinis, they came in small juice classes with no explanation. When asked about it she said they were slammed and she seemed irritated again. Worth noting, Tria was not busy this past Friday night when we arrived at 6 PM. Our bruschetta was burnt, we had one half of a cherry tomato on our salad, and our beef was fair at best. We go there for the patio, but from now on, we will have to dine at one of the 29 other "best patios" in the Twin Cities. "

  • "Tria is a great place. The food is great. I love the spinach salad, the scallops, the beef tenderloin medallions or the Shrimp and grits, and the homemade ice cream. There are many other choices. And the wine list has very nice options in many price points. It is a good place to take work clients. For larger groups they have a back room. The service is good too. • "I had been interested in trying Tria for a special occasion. While the service and environment were very good, the food was just average and could have been more generous portions for the price. My food could have been warmer. The dessert was good, but again for the price, expected more quantity and quality."

  • "Very comfortable dining rooms. I definitely would return to try more dishes. We have been here with large groups as well as just the 2 of us. The mussels and scallop appetizers are always a good choice. I loved the grilled trout- nice size filet. The service was well-timed and friendly. Nice wine selection. It was our anniversary and Tria's complimentary dessert and glass of champagne was a very nice touch. "

  • "This was our first dining experience at Tria and we would definitely go back for another occasion. It is moderate to expensive, so it is not something we would do often, but it was great for the birthday celebration. They offer free bottles of wine for birthdays, and that is fantastic! Plus, they brought out a free dessert. The food was delicious and they have a large menu with a lot of options. The server was friendly and the food came quickly. It was a fabulous first time dinner experience!"

  • "There were 5 of us. Two were celebrating their birthdays. 5-5-55 & 5-5-56. Disappointed to find a set wine list to pick from and only one person could have the choice per table. This was never stated in any of the literature that only one could be celebrated at a table. Very disappointed. Food was the best."
