Diner Reviews
  • "Aspects of the service were great. For instance, waitress offered to bring tastes of 2 wines I was considering so I could decide. However, upon being seated, I had to immediately ask for clean plates, as our bread plates were dirty. Then, when waitress cleared used flatware from the table with appetizer plates, she failed to replace it, so when our meals came out, we had no way to eat. Had to flag down a bus boy to get utensils. Certainly would expect these small service components to be second nature at a restaurant such as this. Noise level is surprisingly low for such a large place. Decor is appealing, but does need some dusting/cleaning."

  • "I had Fennel Braised Pork Shoulder Sugo with Housemade Ricotta Gnocchi and Sage, my wife had Gulf Shrimp, Crawfish and Housemade Andouille over Creamy Corn Grits. Both were shockingly good. We are going back soon for the gumbo. The ambiance was great, the food was a class of its own. I hear from friends that brunch is even better. I will be back many more times."

  • "all four of us enjoyed our dinner choices from Cajun to traditional. Service was very attentive, even to the point of managing our pre-theatre time to go to the show. We have eaten here several times and it is a consistent performance from the kitchen"

  • "The menu is large, almost overwhelming, but if you come as a group of four and pick your way through it by sharing small plates you will have an outstanding dining experience. Everything pleased, from the fresh oysters to the prosciutto-wrapped asparagus to the boar sausage. We went back for breakfast the next day and were just as impressed. Amazing creations like boar cheek confit hash for only $9. Try it!"

  • "Although we were there 30 minutes prior to our reservation time. We were still seated late and then it was in the bar. Food & service were great."

  • "Four of us ate at Toulouse Petit for an early dinner after the theatre. All had different entrees, all were delighted with our dishes. The service was extremely friendly and efficient; the food was well prepared and interesting. Toulouse Petit lived up to its reputation. We will be back."

  • "We discovered this restaurant a few months ago when we ended up staying a couple of nights in Seattle as our flight to Puerto Rico had been delayed due to bad weather in the east. When our grandson ended up playing in a hockey tournament this past weekend, we decided to travel from Vancouver Island to watch his games. In truth, the idea of having another dinner at Toulouse was as much a draw as the hockey tournament. We have recommended it to all of our Canadian friends."

  • "Celebrated a birthday and the crew made it really special. The manager came over to our table to presented the wine we chose with enthusiasm and flare. He had a great personality and made great recommendations. Our waitress was very sexy and helpful. Food came out piping hot and it was delicious."

  • "We love eating here, the food never disappoints. Shrimp and grits--can't go wrong. The wild board sausage and the beet salad are great starters and the chocolate tart is amazing. Great for dinner and breakfasts keep you going all day, delicious!"

  • "From the moment we were greeted, seated and left the restaurant the entire experience was superb! Really appreciate a restaurant that goes the extra mile on service. Thanks for another wonderful experience at Toulouse Petit!"

  • "All but one of the items we ordered were well prepared. Flavors were excellent except for the onion soup. It was very pedestrian. Very little onion, little cheese the bread in the soup seemed sliced of the loaf and no addition to the dish, the broth had little flavor. It was the only disappointment with the food. The servicer carried a very pleasant demeanor and we told her at the beginning we wanted to go slow. However, there were times that she went too long to check on us and when the main coarse was served wine was ordered. When she did return over 15 minutes later, we reminded her of the wine and she said the bar was very busy. Over 5 minutes later the wine was served and the entree was gone."

  • "Had to wait 15 minutes after our designated reservation (squeezed standing in the corner, in the way of people coming and going) then another 15 mins to order drinks and then ANOTHER 15 mins to order food. When the food finally arrived, it was slightly disappointing. I ordered to gnocchi. Not only was the portion size very small, (very few noodles), but it didn't taste particularly good either. Iv'e had much better in Seattle. I recommend Mamma Melina Ristorante."

  • "Toulouse Petit has an extensive menu from which to choose. So, we tried the three course Prix Fixe Menu, which was superb from beginning to end, and would highly recommend each dish. For the First Course, we had the hearts of romaine salad and cauliflower & white truffle soup with Dungeness crab. Second Course: Dungeness crab over fried green tomatoes and the boar-garlic sausage with tomato-basil. Third Course: Alaskan King salmon with wild mushrooms, carmelized leeks & sweet corn and the pan seared diver scallops with sweet onion-corn. For dessert we had the Toulouse bananas foster: spice cake, orange rum flambe, pecans, with vanilla bean ice cream Service was excellent as well."

  • "This is our favorite restaurant in Seattle. The wines are great. The menu has it all. The food is beyond expectation. The atmosphere is romantic in the evening with lots of candles. The service is excellent...not pushy, but very attentive. We eat here at least once a month. Joe, the manager, runs a great show! I would highly recommend this restaurant...except I am selfish and don't want to share it with too many people."

  • "We were treated very badly. We had a reservation, through Open Table, on the same night that JTimberlake was performing at the Key Arena. Apparently the restaurant seated lots of walk ins, with little thought to people with reservations. I received a call, telling me I should come 45 minutes later than my reservation, even when we did that, it still took another 30 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated, the food and service were just lovely, but I wouldn't want to go through that experience again."

  • "Our table of 4 enjoyed a very nice meal, but the real treat was our waiter, Christopher, who was so efficient and professional that he really enhanced our experience at Toulouse Petit. He recommended excellent wines that were not expensive, he was informative and friendly, without the false friendliness you get with some wait staff, and he always let us know what was going on. This experience made me realize what a treat it is to have such an excellent waiter. The restaurant was very crowded at the time, but he was highly confident and calm, telling us what he had done (I've asked someone to bring you more water) and what he was going to do next. I'd go back, and hope one of Christopher's tables was available."

  • "Every time I passed by, this restaurant looked busy. They seemed like they have good brunch menu and tried to go there, but always too crowded... We made a reservation for dinner during the weekend during Seattle Restaurant week. Our reservation was early for dinner on Fri, but it was already packed before 6PM. It was pretty noisy and we had to talk really loud. This is definitely not for romantic event. Service was little slow, we had to wait very long to get someone to order drinks. It took at least 30 min to get our drinks after we sat down. Their cocktail was really good! The food was good too. It was more like bistro type of French. Over all, thick sauce & right amount of volume. Not too little, not too much."

  • "Our Wednesday night dining experience was exquisite at this chic restaurant in Seattle. Joe, the sommelier, was spot on and engaging...we suggest he get some more fabulous wine from our favorites in Sonoma County...Dutcher Crossing...Talty Winery & Amapola Creek or our favorite Australian selection "Sand box" Shiraz It was very hard to choose a meal, we wanted to eat/taste the entire menu..."

The food was delicious and so good, I wanted to lick my plate clean. They also have a great wine list and a great cozy atmosphere."

  • "I chuck the noise to the fact that there were 40ers and Seahawks fan in the same place right before the big game, but it was very energetic. The service was simply superb, loved it. The food was great, though some was unexpectedly more spicy than we hoped for, but still great. Black code and the duck confit..simply superb...they also have very nice fixed price menu if you want a three course meal."

  • "The 3 of us decided to sample a number of dishes and share them all, which turned out amazing! The chicken with roasted mushrooms was incredible, the pasta with truffle and peas was the table favorite. I would skip the pork belly appetizer and have 2 of the grilled asparagus apps instead. The atmosphere felt like a party which was fun but not great for conversation, just a little too loud. We will be back for sure!"

  • "I made a reservation on a Monday night because the previous Friday was jam packed unless I wanted to sit behind my date at the bar, weird. Anyways, we sat down and waited...for 40 minutes until I alerted the host that no one had come to take our drink order. Happily, the staff was very apologetic and brought us free beignets (yum!) and a surprise dessert at the end! I had the beef burger and swapped the gruyere with the chevre which was INCREDIBLE. The fries had a nice spice to them too. It was a great experience, the wait made it worth it. Merci Toulouse Petit!"

  • "Usually have Happy Hour (shrimp & grits or other seafood) but this time had a steak for dinner. Petit Filet with mushrooms/onions, and it was absolutely fantastic! Prices quite reasonable too. Will have this dish again. Highly recommend."

  • "I have dined here 3 times so far. It has been a winner each time. Servers are professional and the food options vary from large meals to small plates, many with a creole twist. The seafood is well prepared, duck, rabbit and hamburgers all excellent. Good drinks & wine list. Servers are familiar with the wine list and make thoughtful suggestions. Very noisy. Great choice for after theater or opera. Cabs right out the door. Mostly a younger crowd, but not uncomfortable for "mature" diners. It's fun! Looking forward to our next visit."

  • "I had great expectations based on the reviews, so I was a bit dissapointed with some of the food. First the good. The pate was excellent, and so were the frites. Even though I expected some of the dishes to be on the spicy side, most of them were too spicy for our taste. My steak was totally dry (I ordered medium), and too peppery. My brother, who can't eat anything spicy, couldn't even eat the fries, which I enjoy. The salad/salsa served with my steak was also extremely spicy. A spicy salad? The service was excellent. The sommalier made a great, and affordable, recommendation, and the waitress was very helpful . As I said in the title, I will give this restaurant another try and be more careful with my selections."

  • "Big Easy... North. Gumbo, Crawfish Beignets, Parmesan Grits, Duck Confit (2 types), Jambalaya, Creole Cuisine, just t name a few of their Treasures. Rachel attended our table to make the service look effortless and relaxed. I know better. She is a practiced, hard worker of unusual competence and an excellent Sommelier to boot.! Narrow down your choices before you go from the menu on the web. The menu is rather large in the choices offered. Check this place out. Valet parking at the door. You have nothing Toulouse. (Sorry)"
