Diner Reviews
  • "We (a middle-aged couple with adult son and girlfriend) enjoyed a great meal at Toulouse Petit on a Monday evening. The food was great - beet salad a highlight. As were the drinks - especially recommend 'Atomic Orange' for a refreshing summer kick. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the 3-cheese plate; the cheeses were all wonderful, but the portions very tiny. And the reason for 4 instead of 5 for ambience is that it was a bit loud to have a conversation at times. However, if there was an option for 4.5 out of 5, I would have gone for that for both."

  • "I definitely would return to try more dishes. New York Strip Loin was amazing. Buttermilk Beignets were unforgettable!!!"

  • "We went here 2 years ago when they first opened and we felt it was not as wonderful this time. The ambience is nice and service was friendly but we were not crazy about our meal. Just ok. I did not care for the pecan pie at all and our server removed it from the bill. Thank you!"

  • "This was our second time dining here, and the experience was just as good. The food is delicious, something for everyone. Our server was good, she forgot a couple of items that were ordered, and was mistaken on another, but she corrected her errors quickly and without being flustered. We were also comped a couple of items to make up for the errors, we appreciated this, even though we didn't expect it. Standout dishes: Crawfish Beignets; Frisee Salad; Shrimp, Crawfish and Andouille with Creamy Grits; Lime and White Chocolate cheesecake. Excellent cocktail menu. Will definitely be back when we return to Seattle."

  • "Everything was very good here except the noise level. Having to scream at the person across from you is tiresome. The food was delicious, the service was excellent."

  • "Meal was great shrimp/grits, meatloaf. Waitress friendly, forgot our salads. Dessert was poor. Had creme brule that tasted liked instant vanilla pudding. Beignets prepared like over fried sopapillas. Should have returned to kitchen. Can they turn down music, patron noise already at high volume."

  • "Avoid this place on weekend nights. For brunch or lunch, it's pretty good."

  • "The closest you'll find to New Orleans cuisine in Seattle. One of my favorite restaurants in the country. Been many times, and they never disappoint!"

  • "I have been here several times, and it always just blows me away with how amazing this place is. Food, service, ambiance are all amazing. They have a very big menu so there is lots to choose from."

  • "My second time here and one of my favorite places ever!"

  • "The food is very good, the service (at least that provided by Allie) was exceptional and the atmosphere is casual (music was a bit loud but.... ), it's a great place for dinner or drinks before and event at the Seattle Center - convenient and close."

  • "My husband loves New Orleans food and this restaurant was an excellent choice! Every dish was exquisitely made! The server was very knowledgeable about the dishes, and made great recommendations! The ambiance of the restaurant was also great. I will definitely recommend friends and family to this restaurant! We will definitely be going back soon!"

  • "We had an amazing time at Toulouse, two nights in a row ! We came down from BC and weren't going to be satisfied with only one meal at Toulouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all great here, you gotta go !"

  • "Wonderful evening out, great atmosphere and better food. Tried something from all the various parts of the menu, and it's extensive. Loved everything, can't wait to go back!"

  • "We went to Toulouse to celebrate our daughter's high school graduation. Our experience started off bad, and went downhill from there. I reserved a booth for 7, but when we arrived, we were told that the only booth was being held for a party of 8. Instead, they crammed us into a table meant for 6, without any apology or taking responsibility for their mistake. We all ordered appetizers before the main course. Before everyone was done with their appetizers, the wait staff begain to bring out main courses (not enough room on the table for 6), rushing those still eating their appetizers. To top it off, 2 of the main courses arrived cold. The food was overpriced and mediocre at best. Overpriced, terrible service, and poor food. Stear clear."

  • "Ordered the pork porterhouse and it was cooked to perfection. Delicious!"

  • "The food is good, the servers are well-informed and the atmosphere is fun. So why aren't I feeling the love? Maybe they've become sanguine about how much everyone loves them so they're slacking on effort?"
    Dined on 6/12/2014
  • "The food is great. Recommend to go eat a great meal but not for a dinner during which you want to have a conversation. The noise level is pretty loud and it is rather difficult to have a conversation even between a small group of 4 people seated at a booth."
    Dined on 6/11/2014
  • "We opted for the 3 course (soup/salad/entrée) for a fixed price of $49. Our only regret is we had leftovers due to generous portions but they were every bit as good the next day. The crusty bread is served with real butter, not the ubiquitous olive oil one now finds. Wait staff is prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. A great find and we will recommend."

  • "We frequent Toulouse about once every 2 months and have had nothing less than outstanding food and service. This past visit on 6/8/14 was out of the ordinary. The wait for food was longer than usual, our 2 steaks came overcooked, and our waitperson forgot a glass of wine order completely. However, our steaks were comp'ed, the rest of our meals were divine and we will still come back!"
    Dined on 6/8/2014
  • "It was okay. very expensive for the quality of food. I had the 3 course dinner with the steak. It was not a good steak. Lots of fat and gristle. Worse than something McDonalds would serve."

  • "Everything about this place says 'you will return', from the delish food, to the atmosphere, to the nuclear coffee. It's all just fantastically DELISH!"

  • "The food was excellent and the service very efficient. The noise level, however, made it very difficult to converse."

  • "Really enjoy the scene and the eclectic menu here. The place always seems to be hustlin and bustling. Staff, while very busy, is attentative and willing to help with menu. The general manger of 4 1/2 years is leaving, so I hope the vibe and service continues without him. "

  • "Great food. Great service. A bit noisy, but tolerable. The scallops were fantastic."

  • "In town for a long weekend and had to see what all the buzz was about. Menu was extensive...too much so. As a native of New Orleans, I was surprised to see a restaurant offering so many creole/cajun items...which led me to consider whether the chef knows the difference. 'Crab Maison' was decent, fried pork cheeks a bit overcooked. The blackened yellow snapper over grits was excellent...very nice seasoning. The service was abysmal. Asked for a drink menu with my entree and the waitress finally came back to take my order after I had finished my meal. Sat with empty plates in front of us for 10 minutes before the waitress returned with the check! Never asked if we wanted dessert. How rude! Skip this place. Go to Pink Door instead. "

  • "I've had the Jambalaya, Gumbo, Fried chicken and Grits dishes for dinner. It seems like they never disappoint. Remember to save food for dessert. You cannot leave the restaurant without trying their beignets. Some people dine there just for that dish. "

  • "Took my wife and parents here for Mother's Day. Delicious and authentic Creole food. Gumbo, BBQ Prawns, Jumbalaya were all spicy hot and very satisfying. Bengneits (spelled wrong for sure, the famous New Orleans dessert) were outstanding. Can't wait to go back. "

  • "The food was fantastic and the restaurant is very beautiful looking. However, it was VERY noisy and the service was a bit inattentive. However, I would still highly recommend the place strictly based on the fact that the food was so fantastic. The fried alligator is a must-try!"

  • "Don't miss the crab salad with fried green tomatoes! I resisted the shrimp & grits this time, for Cajun meatloaf -not sorry. We got good advice on wine and friendly, efficient service. Have one of their specialty drinks at the bar before dinner."
    Dined on 5/7/2014
  • "The menu is pages and pages. So many intriguing options, I knew I'd want to come back even before we ate. The food was fantastic, portions were generous. Very unique, not just another trendy café. You must try it!"

  • "Great ambience with live music. Service barely adequate. Food average, not impressed (I can cook better myself at home). Red wine (by the glass) served too warm. I want it to be good, but not sure I'm willing to risk another experience. A great dining experience should leave one hungry for more!"

  • "My wife and I ate here before attending the opera. First there was a mix up with our OpenTable reservation. The restaurant reserved us a table in the bar area, to compensate the loss of a table in the restaurant. This was nice, versus not having a table, but meant we were sitting on bar stools for the meal. We started by sharing a beet salad, which was mediocre in quality, and over sauced. My wife had a charred white fish (too salty) and I had the fried chicken (too small). The chicken, which was advertised as 1/2 of a petite chicken, ended up being 2 wings and a slice of breast smaller than a wing. I also had a single cocktail. Total bill was over $70, which is too high given the lower quality of the food or our experience."
