Thirty 7 North Restaurant & BarAmazingAmazing evening with friends. We started in the bar for a couple signature cocktails and then were seated in the dining room over looking what looked like a fishing dock. That was fun, as they were busy that night bringing in our fresh catch. We all ordered apps, which were fantastic. My friends both had the scallops and the trout. I had the halibut special, which I really enjoined. The service was non-intrusive and they seemed to work together as we never really needed anything throughout dinner. Things almost just happened. This was my second visit and my friends first; we will be back. The server mentioned they change the menu often so that alone will be my reason!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMNew Kid on the BlockThis restaurant opened in July of 2012 in an area noted for good restaurants of all flavors. So it can be challenging for a new comer to make an impression and thrive. Thirty 7 North has a great concept. The menu is innovated with reasonable prices. A very good wine selection. The staff was very attentive.
My business associates from Germany were very impressed. We had a very enjoyable evening, stayed 3+ hours!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen wanting to try this restaurantBeen wanting to try this restaurant for a while. It was an amazing experience. When you first enter the parking lot you know you are somewhere special. The décor inside is absolutely beautiful. The dining room is huge, so you don't feel like you are cramped even when the tables are full. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us pick some items off the dinner menu. I really enjoyed everything I tried. The presentation of the appetizers and entrees we ordered was spot on. It was just a great experience.
I wanted to mention was the entertainment. There was a live performer in the bar while we were dining. Instead of being a distraction or overpowering, it really added to the experience and was way better than just the radio.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother amazing night at 37N.Another amazing night at 37N. I can not say enough about this place.....sat night there was a guy playing music in the bar and he was really good, food was wonderful ( our table had shrimp, salads, halibut, and scallops-great wine too), and Jeremy our waiter was spot on. I love dining here and I am so happy that there are restaurants of this caliber in the vb dining scene!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed this dinner. LiveEnjoyed this dinner. Live music from the bar and speaker music in the restaurant were competing. We were trying to figure our what two songs were playing at once. How about turning one off.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I both hadMy husband and I both had amazing dinners. The food was spectacular, the wine selection was superb, and Richard (our waiter) was excellent. We will definitely return.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe look forward to our nextWe look forward to our next occasion to visit this fine, yet casual dining restaurant.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWrong wine ? but still good...We talked with waiter extensively about Pinots and our favorites. I ordered the Wild Hog Saralees Pinot Noir but was served the Wild Hog Zinfandel. The zinfandel portion of the label was not noticed until after i had my first glass. I liked their Zin and it was a date with my wife so I gave her the taste and she said she liked it but disapointing to have received the wrong wine. Jumbo shrimp was good a little expensive for 1 bite. The Tuna appetizer was tasty and presented well. Warm mushroom salad was small but nice. There was no salt or pepper on the table or I would have added some to it. The Trout main course was very pretty but the buttermilk sauce was bland. Coffee dessert was an A+.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it!!!I took an out of town friend on Sunday night, and we loved every bit of our dinner. She had the mushroom salad and scallops, and I had the watercress salad and pork chop. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine, and shared the chocolate dessert. Everything was fabulous, and our waiter made the night even better with good recommendations and great service. I can only say good things!!!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was fabulous! MyThis place was fabulous! My fiancee and I went to dinner to celebrate our engagement, and it was the perfect romantic date night restaurant. Our server was fantastic - I had him choose the wine to pair with the trout that I ordered - and he was attentive without being intrusive. The plate presentation was beautiful, and the food tasted even better. We will definitely be back!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThere are lots of encouragingThere are lots of encouraging signs here, but menu selections don't include enough local fresh fish dishes...Too many meat dishes...More light items subtly seasoned with fresh herbs would be appreciated and would draw us back more often. The much-vaunted shrimp tempura were disappointingly greasy, but we appreciated being able to order by the piece. (I wonder how many people really want bison and oxtail?????) The chef is obviously talented. And the space is beautiful. We love that the menu changes frequently,so how about some lighter dishes without beans and ham or bacon, and spicy seasonings!!! High marks for the bread basket! And service every time has been excellent!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOur second time at 37 North. Our second time at 37 North. Great food, love they do fresh and local! My husband loves the house cured bacon. It was a hit with our friends, only negative is it is loud. Excellent service too.. We will return.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThank you for a special evening.Thank you for a special evening. It is a slow time of year and a lot of places neglect guest but you all showed why you are great. Thank you for an amazing dinner and a memorable night.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat, as usual37 North has become our favorite restaurant. The food is great and the wine list is excellent and affordable. On this night, I had the Bison. It was exceptionally tender and tasty.
The service was excellent.1/29/2013 12:00:00 AMHALF OFF THE WINE LIST ON MONDAYAs always, the food was innovative, stylish and tasty. I had a fabulous appetizer with “Buffalo Pork”. Think Buffalo chicken, except W/pork bellies. My steak with "oyster dressing" was incredible
FYI, Monday is half off wine from the menu. This is fantastic because 37 North has the best wine list in Hampton Roads.
The service was great. “Dr J” made me feel right at home.12/10/2012 12:00:00 AM
