  • "Excellent food and drink selection. It was a little loud, but likely because it was so busy for the holiday. Service was great, from hostess to waitress."

  • "We dined at Theo's for the first time this past weekend and was beyond thrilled with our experience. The service was outstanding. We loved the ambiance and the food was absolutely delicious. We love going to St. Michaels and are excited to have a new favorite restaurant!"

  • "Theo's is consistently good and the menu has been updated for the summer. We have dined there many times over the years. Most times it has been very good; sometimes at worst, it is just good. Can't beat a steak with hand-cut fries as the default order."

  • "There are now three really nice restaurants in the pretty town of St. Michaels, The Bistro, 208 Talbot and Theo's. I had one of the best steak au pouve ever. Wonderful service even though it was our first visit. Will certainly return."

  • "As always, a consistently great dining experience featuring truly fine steaks (of course) from the bistro steak frittes and Delmonico, to perfectly crisped softshell crabs that are second to none. The bar area is a visual delight and Bill Redmond, whether bar tending or managing, can always recommend a wine that delights and surprises, like a red sancerre or a phenomenal pinot. Our server, Katy, brought not only joy and humor to our table, but can be depended on for a suggestion, whether an appetizer, entree or desert. If a fan of Smith Island cakes, you might find one here as topper to the perfect meal. Plan on having a grand repast in a entertaining and engaging environment. "

  • "clearly one of the top 3 or 4 restaurants in St Michaels, right in the center of town in an older building, handsome rooms. Good, attentive service, and the kitchen turns out really superior fish and meat dishes. But the prices are equal to or higher than what you'd pay for the same (excellent) meal in downtown Washington (where you'd find even better service and more elegant surroundings) -- so why the super-high prices? Definitely worth going to but perhaps not frequently."

  • "Theo's always pleases.......great Thur night burger feast........service excellent and food always above average, even for burgers."
    Dined on 5/22/2014
  • "Excellent service as usual that always found us at just the right time, an herb-infused dipping oil for French rolls that tricked my mind into thinking I was having a salad (who wants a salad when you can have bread sopped in extra virgin olive oil?!), an amazing blue cheese and onion fondue that left me unsuccessfully left me trying to suppress a groan of pleasure at the first bite, and braised spareribs on a bed of bacon-cheese grits and creamed spinach that I can thankfully still taste when I close my eyes three days later. To even begin talking about the densely delicious salted caramel brownie for dessert would just be too much so I'll stop there until my next visit to Theo's!"

  • "A rare twice in one week visit with new local friends. We were not disappointed ! They are always adding something creative to the menu and keep that killer wine list up to date. Consistently great food and the staff always makes us feel like we are special. We stayed a little late....sorry........but we're having such a great time that we lost track of time! But they were totally cool about it. No rushing. Can't wait to go back. Thanks again guys!"

  • "Entertaining, engaging with food that delights, surprises and makes for a wonder-filled evening. Delmonico is second to none, rockfish with corn/shrimp remoulade a treat to revisit again and again, topped by a wine recommendation of a red sancerre (thanks, Bill) that brought it all together! Service made us feel at home and the interior decor/bar area is hard to beat for a comfy environment to visit with friends. All the best and congrats on doing "consistently great" so very well! We'll be back, we promise -"

  • "Once again Theo's gave us an amazing food and wine experience. They called ahead and alerted us of a big party upstairs that may impact service. So we went a little earlier. Turned out no impact but we appreciated the heads up. Nice touch! The greeting at the door was friendly and inviting, the service at the table was spot on and the wine we selected was perfect . We brought out of town friends and they were duly impressed! We had the special, short ribs over polenta...(mmmmm) and rockfish encrusted with corn and shrimp.....just amazing. Prompt service but not rushed, lively environment but not loud, just right on a special night! Can't wait to go back."

  • "...and that's what we found. Terrific food, interesting home-like atmosphere and beautiful bar area. Everything we ordered was perfect. The fried oysters, shrimp and corn crusted rockfish, the petit filet, whipped Yukons and the creamed spinach with bacon were all very well prepared and tasted great. Definitely worthy of a return visit. "

  • "were here 2 years ago for our anniversary on recommendation from local merchant; had a fantastic meal so when we were able to head back again for our anniversary, I immediately booked a table. treated us to a split of procecco (ironically we had same waitress as before; who was excellent). shared a bottle of alamos Malbec, the wedge salad, porterhouse, which was cooked perfectly, grits with cheese & bacon, not my favorite but could have eaten the entire dish! as well as creamed spinach. oh and the rolls!! desserts were sea salt caramel bread pudding and brownie sundae. portions are meant to be shared; you'll have leftovers. quite the gem!"

  • "We love Theo's! The wait staff is consistently great (Audrey, Melanie, Katie, Bill), and the food is delicious! We come back time after time because we feel comfortable there, and we know it will be provide reliability, consistency, a great atmosphere and great food and drink!"

  • "We have dined at Theo's several times. Each time the service has gotten worse and the food is bordering on mediocre. A shame to see the decline...especially when Theo's started out so strong."

  • "They accommodated my reservation change. Staff was awesome and manager was very friendly and treated my party above and beyond expectation for our wedding dinner"

  • "We had a reservation and was seated promptly. The wait staff were very helpful and the service was great . we had a really lovely meal. The crab cake with the corn salsa was delicious, my husband had the red snapper which he thoroughly enjoyed. We had planned to retire to the bar for a nightcap but it was really busy,( next time) Maggie Malvern "

  • "Theo's menu has great variety and from our two visits, it's all good! And the portions are more than generous. The wine list is impressive but could use a few more selections below $40 dollars/bottle both in reds and whites. Service is prompt and courteous. We had a wonderful evening."

  • "Theo's is usually a very nice restaurant with very good steak dinners. On Saturday evening we went to Theo's and order the steak on the Restaurant Week menu. It was a thin, tough steak even though the three course meal was $35.10 I should have ordered from the regular menu."

  • "Theo's is located within walking distance of the place that we stayed. We were greeted by very friendly staff and had excellent service throughout our entire dining experience. The food was delicious! The shrimp cooked on the salt block was superb! We will definitely visit Theo's when we return."

  • "We must have both made the wrong choice because our food was mediocre at best and our waitress was very bland too. I had baby back ribs that were very tough and my friend had the salmon that was really salty. I guess when you go to a steakhouse you should get a steak but the prices were very high for an a la cart steak dinner and we just weren't in the mood. Too bad for us.... :( They really need to up their game if they want to charge those kind of prices. We may go back for a burger at lunch in the bar!"

  • "This was our first visit to St. Michaels, so we were hesitant about our restaurant choices. Theo's was a perfect place for our anniversary dinner. Our server was attentive and even took a few pictures for us. And the food was absolutely awesome! My wife ordered the cauliflower and after it was brought to the table, the manager showed up and took it away. Our server had let him know it didn't look right, and they gave us a fresh plate. Theo's was very busy, so the noise level was a little high, but well worth it for the food! I definitely will be back to Theo's the next time we are in St. Michaels!!!"

  • "Theo's is our "go to" spot for a quiet, romantic dinner in St. Michaels with consistently great food and friendly staff. They do the "steakhouse" theme well, but the surprise is interesting seafood dishes and a selection of less expensive specials that are always tempting."

  • "St. Michaels finest. Excellent food and outstanding staff."

  • "This was the 4th year my husband and I have selected Theo's to celebrate Valentine's day during our annual romantic get away weekend to St. Michael's. We love the ambiance, the service and drink/menu selections. A table in the front dining room by the fireplace is our favorite. The french onion soup, mussels and oysters are great starters. The steaks - Prime NY Strip and Filet - are mouthwatering with several cuts and sauce choices (we need to go back to finish sampling each). A good variety of wine choices (both red and white) to fit any budget. From the minute we stepped into the restaurant to closing the door as we left, the service was inviting and friendly. Definitely save room for dessert - they are to die for!"

  • "We've been to Theos numerous times and the food has always been wonderful and the service impeccable. The steaks are prime cut and cooked to perfection. My husband loves the brussel sprouts but my favorite is the mac and cheese. It's even better than what my Momma used to make and that's saying something. Would highly recommend Theos whenever you're in St Michael's; just be sure to make a reservation because they're always busy."

  • "It was our 20th anniversary and we had an outstanding evening."
    Dined on 2/12/2014
  • "All in all, it was a wonderful dining experience. The food was on par with other higher end restaurants that I've been to. The angus steaks were tender, juicy and had good flavour. Their house steak sauces were excellent as well. We had their salt block seared beef as an appetizer and that was something special. It comes to the table with 8 pieces of rare tenderloin searing on a 500 degree block of salt and you finish cooking it to your preference. The ambiance is pleasant as well. Dimly lit and in set in what appears to be a retrofitted St. Michaels home. It is a cozy atmosphere. The price, for an Angus steak dinner w/ sides is $50/person; $75 if you got Prime. One complaint, ice cream was icy; as if it had thawed and been refrozen."

  • "Okay, I have been to Theo's many times. We are locals. Having said that, the last couple of ties we went we were a bit disappointed. Either the food was off or the service was off, or both. Not horribly, just below what we had come to expect. I was a bit nervous to take our good friends there. The are both CIA trained chefs! Well, did Theo's ever pick a perfect time to knock it out of the park! The service was so good I thought they may have the wrong table! Not 5 minutes after we sat down, they brought a special appetizer to the table, compliments of the bartender , who "knows" us. "Happy New Year and welcome back. Great to see you!" It just got better and better from there! Blown away! Cant wait to go back!"

  • "When we arrived, we were asked to wait about 10 minutes, even though we had reservations. After we were seated, our waiter took our drink orders, but we waited 30 minutes for the cocktails. When we asked, we were told the bartender makes every drink perfectly! (He needs to learn to make them efficiently as well.) We ordered our dinners as soon as the drinks arrived, and I am very sorry to say that it took more than an hour to get our meals! Again, we asked, and later, we complained. It was always, "They'll be right out." Our reservations were for 7:45, and we finally got our meals at 9:45. The food was good, but there was no excuse for the slow service, despite our cheerful waiter's spin. Disappointing, indeed."
