Diner Reviews
  • "The food at the Shrimp Factory was delicious. I also enjoyed my moonshine sangria. If and when I return to Savannah I will definitely dine there again. "

  • "Food was Excellent as was the service. Main course portion was good size, but appetizers were small. Screaming babies at next table kept it from being a 10"

  • "A work group of four; everyone enjoyed their food, and everyone thought the other's food looked yummy. My shrimp was fresh and tasted just like I was in New Orleans ... Sort of a touristy place, but far exceeded our expectations, including reasonable prices for the waterfront location. ... Our group would go back. ... And we were able to have a conversation at acceptable sound levels! -- Service was polite and timely."

  • "I had the stuffed flounder and my dining friend had the pine bark stew. Both entrees were delicious! The bread with pimiento cheese spread was outstanding and the tossed Caesar salad was fantastic! The bananas foster is also prepared at your table, it was perfection! Thank you!"

  • "Went there on a Friday night based on reviews. Wanted a reasonably priced decent meal. We ordered oysters and shrimp with bacon as appetizer. Oysters were OK but the shrimp was very disappointing. Not fresh, dry and overcooked. Then had shrimp with pasata we asked to have it with no tomatoes and it came with tomatoes. The pasta tasted like burnt oil. We complained but were not offered a new dish even though we had only one bite, it was not edible. Very very dissapointing. Would not recommened it."

  • "Last time I was in savannah, I thought the Shrimp Factory was where I went last time to eat oysters but it was not the place from last time. My raw oysters were not very big and they brought them out with captains wafers, not saltines . When I asked for saltines they said they didn't have any. I've never eaten oysters with any other type of cracker. Our water glasses went unfilled for at least ten minutes. The waitress seemed to be in a hurry the whole time but the restaurant wasn't completely full. Probably won't eat there again next time I'm in town."

  • "We live savannah and remember the shrimp factory for great shrimp. We ate at other places on the river this trip. Shrimp factory had better prices and better shrimp."

  • "Before our quick stopover in Savannah this past weekend I emailed to find out the kids menu since I have a very picky child. I received a prompt reply and the menu worked so we booked the reservation. I have been to the restaurant in the past but never with my daughter. Everything was great and we had a fantastic server. From the bread and cheese spread to the entrees to the bananas foster dessert - it was all so so good."

  • "Menu changed to a limited selection of meals. The food was good. Slow service. Waiter forgot to bring items. Maybe change of ownership? Definitely like the old Shrimp Factory better."

  • "We had some trouble getting seated despite our reservations & both hostesses were rude, unprofessional & unapologetic. Our server John was excellent the food just Ok the oysters very small. We'll not go back. We spoke to the Manager who apologized but that was all. No real effort made on their part to make things right."

  • "Valentine's Day dinner...restaurant was very busy but we received excellent service including a visit from the manager just to check on things. Well done!"

  • "At first things were great. Reservation ready. Appetizers served right away. Service was fine. Then nothing. After 45 minutes of waiting for entrees we asked a manager to check on our food. He brought the food 15 minutes later with no apology, explanation or even acknowledgement that it was unsatisfactory that we received our food an hour after we ordered mostly fried shrimp and a kids chicken fingers. The manager made his rounds asking other guests about their dining experience and purposely avoided us. We asked our server to let his manager know about our long wait time. He immediately defended the time he entered our food and within10 mins of receiving our food he handed us our checks. No manager checked on us. We got the message."

  • "Good, solid fare at this Savannah staple. Took advantage of the Savannah Restaurant Week specials to try things not on the regular menu. Two were terrific: a salad with grilled onions and strawberries and a salmon oscar that was both fresh and rich in flavor. The dessert was billed as chocolate raspberry cheesecake, but was actually a dark chocolate cheesecake with raspberry drizzle. It was still very good—but the chocolate completely overwhelmed the raspberry. Service was a bit scattered."

  • "The food was amazing...we had the spinach artichoke shrimp crab dip as an app. and it was amazing. We both loved our meals too. We also tried their signature drink 'Chatham Artillery Punch.' It was yummy....strong. We shared it. Our waiter was really great. He was a lot fun and very attentive. The bar area is separated from the main restaurant but they had live music that we could hear from our table. The music was good. We really enjoyed our whole dinner experience and will go back."

  • "Went here for restaurant week and the food was amazing. The salmon was moist and the grouper was delish! Raspberry chocolate cheesecake was to die for. The atmosphere was great. The lounge area had awesome music which filtered into the dining area. Right on the river so threes view was gorgeous. Would recommend to anyone."

  • "Food was good, just not enough for the price paid. Atmosphere was great - had a singer who sang softly with a mix of music. Menu needs to be updated. An appetizer seen online, they no longer made. Was disappointed."

  • "We dined here the day after Christmas. I had two lobster tails which were done up perfectly. My wife had shrimp and grits which she absolutely loved. The Christmas decorations were far more than any other restaurant we visited...which we loved. Great food, atmosphere and our server was awesome! Hope to return someday!"

  • "The Shrimp Factory was a fine for the variety of seafood, Not limited to shrimp. The price range was adequate as well. The service was fine. I am use to the server coming back and asking if everything is to the liking of the customer. The server was nice, friendly and all but missed that little aspect."

  • "Boy this restaurant probably wished that OpenTable never sent me a reminder to leave a review! The food was completely lackluster, and I could have done better myself. Grits were stone cold, and had absolutely no flavor! I'm expecting a restaurant to serve food that I can't make better myself. After all, that's what they do all day, every day right? Crab legs were also cold, sorry I live mine steamed, not the same temperature as the cold air outside in November. Best part was perhaps the waitress, she was nice. Oh, and they had nice glasses that they served the water in. But that's it. Seriously, go to Joe's Crab Shack down the street, more expensive, but a better chance at getting food that's hot and has flavor."

  • "I had great spectations to spend Thanksgiving dinner at The Shrimp Factory. I called when I got to Savannah and I was told that they had a special menu for Thanksgiving. Our reservations were at 7:00 PM, they were closing at 8:00 PM (which we did not know) Our food was cold, and they had run out of almost all of the side dishes, we end up eating what was left (even if we did not like it). They also were out of the desserts. A complete disaster ............................................ I love Savannah and I am sure I will be back to the city, but not to the restaurant."

  • "We arrived 4 minutes prior to our reservation and the host was not accommodating. He stated we weren't on the list. I showed him my confirmation from your site, and he began lambasting Open Table. Then he told the hostesses not to seat us yet. We waiting patiently, until we saw him begin to seat another party of two. Then we asked about our seat, and he seemed confused. At this time he did seat us. We enjoyed a wonderful meal, with a great server. When we left the restaurant, we found that the host had cancelled our reservation on your site, while we were waiting to be seated. I felt like this host is the first person you are greeted with and he is not accommodating."

  • "I wanted Stuffed Shrimp and my husband and I decided to try this place out. It is expensive, but well worth the price. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable and seemed to love his job. We went to Savannah on vacation and will be back and this place will be the first on the dining list!"

  • "Joel was our server, he was great! We made a reservation and walked right to our table but otherwise there was a 45 minute wait. Definitely make a reservation. We enjoyed everything very much, food was great and service was great. Despite being so busy we had a huge meal in less than an hour and a half."
