Diner Reviews
  • "Truly enjoyed our meals, and service was great! Lemon drop martini was great too!"

  • "Enjoyed a very fresh and flavorful seafood stew, and a Chatham Artillery punch. Service was good. We enjoyed the old world feel of this Savannah River St. Restaurant."

  • "Set right on the Savannah River, The Shrimp Factory is a great spot for good food with a good atmosphere. The interior is nautical, so the kids will love it. I had the Oysters Rockefeller to start... they were delicious. My main course was the crab stuffed flounder, which was also very good. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. The service was good. I would definitely go again."

  • "Used to come here in late 90's for awesome seafood bisque, Caesar salad and bread, but now it seems the ingredients are not as good, lacking the flavor and richness in both the bisque and the salad. Bread also not as good, but still meets expectations of this level of restaurant. Sad that it is only good now, not great. Location on River Street is still a plus and the interior is also a plus."

  • "Great service, great food, great drinks! The crab, shrimp and spinach dpi is amazing!"

  • "The food and service were excellent, and the view of the river and the people going by was outstanding."

  • "We have eaten at this restaurant several times over the years and it seems that it has become run down and dirty. There were at least 4 flies flying around us while we ate. The place just didn't seem fresh and clean-it was dingy and grimy. I was disappointed in our experience. We will not eat there again and will not recommend it. There are plenty of other places that have fantastic seafood and much cleaner!"

  • "Due to the fabulous location and river front scenery, this is a bucket list place to eat. Don't expect gourmet quality food and instead, enjoy the quick service and tourist area meal. If you are a foodie perfectionist then look elsewhere for higher quality and higher priced meals. We dressed relatively casual (collared, button down shirt) and enjoyed the convenience of hot weather street survival and appropriate dinner wear."

  • "The food, service, and ambiance were perfect with a capital GREAT! It was my husbands birthday and was a great choice. The food was outstanding. We had scallops to start and my husband had the shrimp trio and I had one of the best crab stuffed flounder dishes that I have had. (And that is many, many times) This is a great choice for anyone."

  • "The seating was dead on my request. Had a great view of the river. A plus was the live band."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "The shrimp were great, but that was about it. The portion was small for the price. The service was awful."

  • "The food was outstanding! I was their with three of my cousins and we were all very pleased! The stuffed shrimp were the best I've ever had! Our server was new so she wasn't the best, but the other staff stepped in and helped her out right on time. They were great!"

  • "Food was nothing special, bathroom has no tissue and staff did not respond to the issue even after bringing to their attention. Meal was not worth the price."
    Dined on 6/1/2014
  • "Food was as great as I remembered, its been a number of years since we were here. Don't think management planned for the business on Sat. night on Memorial Day weekend, service was very slow. Overall, still great. OC "

  • "The food was good but not worth the $100 we spent. Their alcoholic drinks have very little alcohol. The manager was a jerk and we sat right in front of the waitress counter/cash register and listened to nothing but complaining from the staff, it made us feel unwelcome"
    Dined on 5/20/2014
  • "Friendly staff, good location near market, low country boil and steam pot was plentiful but not flavorful."

  • "My husband had chosen the shrimp trio. The current menu in the restaurant states coconut shrimp instead of the stuff crab.shrimp. They had no problem with the substitution. I order the crab legs and shrimp. We loved everything about the restaurant. I recommend the peach long island tea. We will visit again."

  • "The food at the Shrimp Factory was delicious. I also enjoyed my moonshine sangria. If and when I return to Savannah I will definitely dine there again. "

  • "Food was Excellent as was the service. Main course portion was good size, but appetizers were small. Screaming babies at next table kept it from being a 10"
    Dined on 4/18/2014
  • "I had the stuffed flounder and my dining friend had the pine bark stew. Both entrees were delicious! The bread with pimiento cheese spread was outstanding and the tossed Caesar salad was fantastic! The bananas foster is also prepared at your table, it was perfection! Thank you!"

  • "Went there on a Friday night based on reviews. Wanted a reasonably priced decent meal. We ordered oysters and shrimp with bacon as appetizer. Oysters were OK but the shrimp was very disappointing. Not fresh, dry and overcooked. Then had shrimp with pasata we asked to have it with no tomatoes and it came with tomatoes. The pasta tasted like burnt oil. We complained but were not offered a new dish even though we had only one bite, it was not edible. Very very dissapointing. Would not recommened it."

  • "Okay - great little spot in Savannah. The food was good . . . my husband LOVED his bloody Mary!"

  • "A work group of four; everyone enjoyed their food, and everyone thought the other's food looked yummy. My shrimp was fresh and tasted just like I was in New Orleans ... Sort of a touristy place, but far exceeded our expectations, including reasonable prices for the waterfront location. ... Our group would go back. ... And we were able to have a conversation at acceptable sound levels! -- Service was polite and timely."

  • "Last time I was in savannah, I thought the Shrimp Factory was where I went last time to eat oysters but it was not the place from last time. My raw oysters were not very big and they brought them out with captains wafers, not saltines . When I asked for saltines they said they didn't have any. I've never eaten oysters with any other type of cracker. Our water glasses went unfilled for at least ten minutes. The waitress seemed to be in a hurry the whole time but the restaurant wasn't completely full. Probably won't eat there again next time I'm in town."

  • "Before our quick stopover in Savannah this past weekend I emailed to find out the kids menu since I have a very picky child. I received a prompt reply and the menu worked so we booked the reservation. I have been to the restaurant in the past but never with my daughter. Everything was great and we had a fantastic server. From the bread and cheese spread to the entrees to the bananas foster dessert - it was all so so good."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "Menu changed to a limited selection of meals. The food was good. Slow service. Waiter forgot to bring items. Maybe change of ownership? Definitely like the old Shrimp Factory better."

  • "We had some trouble getting seated despite our reservations & both hostesses were rude, unprofessional & unapologetic. Our server John was excellent the food just Ok the oysters very small. We'll not go back. We spoke to the Manager who apologized but that was all. No real effort made on their part to make things right."
