About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Neighborhood gem
Not only can you get a juicy roast prime rib at The Parson"s Table, but you can eat it inside a church, too. The location remains very much the same structure that it was in 1885, when Little River Methodist Church was built. The cherished establishment first opened its church doors as a restaurant in the late 1970's and has been serving exquisite American steakhouse fare ever since. The restaurant's decor is positively Southern-charm antique, complete with dark wooden walls, stained glass windows and an original Tiffany glass lamp in the main dining room. An award winning wine list graces The Parson's Table as well as an outstanding fresh seafood selection.

Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
The Parson's Table offers a charming dining experience in a historic church setting with "delicious food" and "great service." Standout dishes include prime rib, seafood specials, and chocolate chip pecan pie. While some reviews noted temperature and service delays, the overall ambiance and attentive staff make it a beloved choice for special occasions.

We love the Parson’s Table. It is a lovely old building with smaller rooms to limit noise. The food was excellent, as always.

It took an hour and fifteen minutes to get our food. There was nothing ordered that took more than 10 minutes to cook. I am fully accustomed to fine dining but this was not it. The food was ok but certainly not worth the wait. Loved the building and decor and nice server.

We had a nice quiet corner table as requested just off the main dining room. Our busy server was very knowledgeable and attentive. We started with the Charleston She Crab Soup and Jumbo Lump Crab Cake followed by Braised Beef Short Rib and the Daily Special Grouper. Portions were big (at least for us) and we couldn’t fit dessert. Everything was delicious. Will definitely be back.

This was our third dining experience at The Parson's Table. Consistently wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. There is a coziness about the historic building--the multiple rooms, stained glass, wood, and Gothic architecture make it very romantic. Food is always a good portion, lovely plate presentation, and absolutely delicious. Our waitress, Katie, was a real treasure--vibrant, cheerful, knowledgeable, and attentive--not just to our table, but to all the tables in her section. We will definitely return in the near future for another meal, and hopefully we can request our new friend, Katie.

Anniversary dinner. Great food and interesting decor. They put us (2) in a room with larger tables of 6-10 people so it got rather loud. We will go again soon.
