A word from The Parson's Table
Not only can you get a juicy roast prime rib at The Parson"s Table, but you can eat it inside a church, too. The location remains very much the same structure that it was in 1885, when Little River Methodist Church was built. The cherished establishment first opened its church doors as a restaurant in the late 1970's and has been serving exquisite American steakhouse fare ever since. The restaurant's decor is positively Southern-charm antique, complete with dark wooden walls, stained glass windows and an original Tiffany glass lamp in the main dining room. An award winning wine list graces The Parson's Table as well as an outstanding fresh seafood selection. Continued

  • "Being local residents in a beach community, we eschew chain restaurants. This is one of our favorite local places and we'll be back."

  • "Parson's Table is the best restaurant on the East Coast. Outstanding food and service and the best bartender, JerrI."

  • "My parent's just moved to the area, being from Chicago my wife and I are blessed with a multitude of gastro phenoms. Parson's Table was a pleasant surprise, will def come back and dine when we are in the area which will be multiple times per year. Many restaurants in the area have a similar menu which makes this one really stand out."

  • "The food was marginal at best for three of us and one person could not eat his meal of goat head fish. The server paid very little attention to the fact the meal was not eaten. Quite a disappointment and we will not be returninv"

  • "Appetizers and salad were excellent. Entrees were good but not excellent. Service was prompt and courteous. Ambience excellent."

  • "We have owned a beach house in the area for five years, and had yet to find a really great restaurant for special occasions. A friend recommended The Parsons Table, and we were not disappointed. The waitress was efficient, friendly, and honest when asked about food choices. Appetizer (oysters Rockefeller) was delicious, as were our entrees (seared duck and filet mignon). Meal comes with a serving bowl of house salad, a cheese spread and crackers, cornbread, vegetable, and starch of choice. A nice wine list is available, and we had a nice Pinot noir for a reasonable price. Our occasion was a birthday, and we were brought a complimentary warm brownie covered in chocolate sauce...wonderful! Bill before tip...$95...very reasonable! "

  • "We had a wonderful meal and excellent service! The only reason I rated this dining experience as Very Good as opposed to Outstanding was because we were seated at a small table for two and my chair back was slightly in the entranceway of a hall that led to a server's station. However, this was not a problem in itself and the restaurant was crowded. The larger tables where we usually sit had more than two people, for the most part. "

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. there were 4 in our party, we all had different dntrees and appetizers and all were delicious. ad crime brûlée for dessert and again it was suburb. This was our third time an definitely not our last."

  • "When we plan our trip to Myrtle Beach, it tops our list of places we must go. We were not disappointed, the whole experience was great. The pork chop special was so good and the seafood was great. We booked our reservation online this time, and that was easy and worked great. I hope that they keep up the great service and food for years to come!"

  • "Everything about The Parson's Table was gret. The staff are friendly, our wait person Astrid was the best, and the food outstanding. The fish special was deicious, but I recommend the shrim and grits, loaded with shrimp. A great place for a romantic dinner in an old converted church building."

  • "I booked this restaurant based on the reviews on Open Table and it was great ... in addition to really good food, it's good value for the money. Entrees include a really good salad, the salmon and pork chop were excellent, and dessert was yummy."

  • "Our party of four could not have been more impressed or satisfied. From being greeted, being seated and served and a chat with the chef on departing, it was an overall great experience. We regret having waited so long to dine at The Parson's table and look forward to our next visit."

  • "We had a wonderful meal in a beautiful setting. The waitress is a gem, she did not rush us and gave us great suggestions for our meal. The food was outstanding. The menu had a great selection and the specials were very interesting. We will go back when we next visit the Myrtle Beach area."

  • "Brought a good friend of mine that had been to the Parson's Table a few times before but never had a good experience. She was a food critic in NY before she moved down here, so I completely respect her opinion. However, after visiting the Parson's Table on many special occasions, I've never had anything but a fabulous experience. I love the atmosphere, wait staff, wine selection and of course the food. I was a little apprehensive about bringing her back to PT but thought since it was my choice, we'd try it one more time. I must tell you that we have managed to convert her... She loved everything about her visit and has already agreed to bring some company to dine during the Easter holiday. She gave you rave reviews on the Duck!!!"

  • "PARSON'S TABLE IS AN OLD CONVERTED CHURCH WITH WONDERFUL AMBIANCE. SERVICE IS EXCELLENT AND USUALLY THE FOOD IS ALSO. FIRST, THEY SERVE YOU CRACKERS WITH A WONDERFUL DIPPING SAUCE. NEXT IS A SALAD WITH THEIR OWN SALAD DRESSING (SO GOOD WE EVEN BOUGHT SOME TO TAKE HOME). NEXT IS THE MAIN ENTREE: MY WIFE HAD SAUTÉED PECAN ENCRUSTED FLOUNDER FILLET WITH GARLIC POTATOES AND STRING BEANS. ALL ITEMS WERE EXCELLENT. I HAD A STARTER OF PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND MUSSELS WHICH WERE A LITTLE SALTY BUT QUITE GOOD. MY MAIN ENTREE WAS PAN SEARED DUCK BREAST. DUCK MEAT UNFORTUNATELY WAS TOUGH BUT TASTY WITH RASPBERRY SAUCE. FOR DESSERT WE HAS A STRAWBERRY/RASPBERRY SUNDAY. TOTAL COST W/ TAX AND 1 GLASS OF WINE WAS $71. OVERALL EXCELLENT MEAL!!!"

  • "Our evening at the Parson's Table was the perfect send off after our Spring Break week at Myrtle Beach. We had searched for a unique restaurant with a local flavor and did we ever find it! My wife, 16-year-old son and I had a very relaxing Friday dinner. The service and ambiance were outstanding. They do not rush you through this experience just to fill more tables. Each course was presented well and the seafood was fresh and very tasty. We would be regular customers if we lived near Myrtle Beach!"

  • "We make the Parson's Table our special occasion restaurant for the simple reason that it is "special". There is no better dinning experience in Myrtle Beach."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "We had reservations and were seated promptly. Our waiter was extremely helpful and provided excellent service. The menu has a nice variety plus the specials were excellent. The only negative to the evening was we were seated in a room with 2 large parties that were exceptionally loud and we found it next to impossible to carry on a conversation. We asked to be moved to a smaller room but were told nothing was available. We've always been seated in one of the smaller rooms and will ask to be seated where we know it will be quieter. Our son flew down from Boston and took me out for an early Mother's Day dinner. As stated earlier, the food was excellent but the noise level was unacceptable."

  • "A friend from OH recommended Parson's Table to us and we were blown away by the wonderful food and atmosphere. The setting is an old 1850's church in South Carolina that has been converted to a restaurant with one of the best chef's in America - studied under Wolfgang Puck and other notables. The prime rib is the best my daughter has ever tasted and we went back for a second time and she got it again. The Spinach Mushroom Coconut Apricot Curry dish with chicken and shrimp, to die for. The Cranberry Duck was also excellent. AND it is extremely reasonable...an even happier surprise! It is a special occasion place with couples celebrating anniversaries, families nicely celebrating birthdays and groups of golfers having an evening out."

  • "This is a restaurant that should be a "must go to" for anyone visiting the Myrtle Beach area. The menu is quite varied and the food is excellent. Our server was helpful and gave us just the right amount of attention without being intrusive. Their wine list is large and their bottle prices are VERY reasonable. We have eaten at Parsons Table many times and have never had a bad experience. I highly recommend it."

  • "Hubby & I are from out of state but come down to S.C. for March & April every year. We found this little gem last year and have celebrated our anniversary here since. Love the romantic ambiance, friendly and accommodating staff including the cooks since I had dietary issues, very good food and lastly our favorite wine was on their wine list! We've had two great experiences and plan on returning."

  • "The Parson's Table was highly recommended by a neighbor. Don't know why we put off dining for so many weeks. The entire experience was memorable. High quality food, wait staff and pleasant surroundings. We plan to re-visit and try other menus items that were so temptingly described."

  • "Was looking for nice dinner out with daughter. The fresh tuna was excellent. The scallops were divine...so easy to overcook. Nice portions for seafood, with a lovely presentation! The time between portions was nice, did not feel rushed, nor forgotten! There were quite a few small rooms to dine in, so overall atmosphere was cozy without being crowded."

  • "Liked that we could make reservations. We had wonderful food during our week stay and saved going to "the old church" for our last dinner in Myrtle Beach. We were so glad we did, AWESOME food and great prices. Their salad is delicious. The desserts were huge. We were to full to order dessert but saw them all around us and noticed how big they were."

  • "We celebrated my wife's birthday at Parson's Table, and could not have been more pleased with our experience! The food was delicious. The pace of dinner was perfect, not rushed, but never waiting too long for what was next. We travel to Myrtle Beach every summer, and Parson's Table will be added to our list of favorite summer traditions!"

  • "We were first time customers after hearing several recommendations. It was a delightful atmosphere with excellent service and an outstanding menu. We especially appreciated the "petite" portion options. The Mussels were the best I' ever had. All this, and was not as expensive as we had anticipated with wine, appetizer, entrees, coffee and desert."

  • "With all the really good restaurants wanting noise in their dining areas, this wonderful gem is such a delightful experience. My husband and I could actually hear each other. Other diners were able to speak to each other without yelling and finally we have experienced good food, good service AND a pleasant atmosphere. We will return any time we are in Myrtle Beach. Please don't change a thing! We had dinner at a very famous steak house chain a few nights before and there were only a few people, so the music was turned way up. We asked for it to be turned down and it was loud and soft and loud again all during our meal. I am very happy that The Parson's Table does not feel the need to create a phony atmosphere. Highly recommend."

  • "The outside feel was kewl. An old church. Created that great expectation feel. Once inside things seemed to slide a bit. First impressions always dictate how one feels in that moment. Our waitress seemed shall I say unattached. Since our group did not select a wine to dull the foods taste or in this case enhance it. She seemed uninterested in us. The theme carried through out the meal. Our tea glass went empty far too long. The food itself was not up to the billing on Open Table. Maybe the haze of the wine might have made the meal better. Such is life. The steak was tough as an old rubber boot. The salad was over sauced and soggy. The salmon on the appetizer plate was dry. Kewl went to confused and we left."
