Diner Reviews
  • "I have nothing but good things to say about this restaruant. The food has never disappointed. It is presented well. Your palate comes alive with the flavors. Every thing from the waitstaff to the food is just perfection. I would recommend this place without a slight bit of hesitation. What are you waitig for? Go!"

  • "This is simply one of the finest restaurants I've been to in the United States. We had the 5 course tasting menu, and the restaurant was quite accommodating for the changes we wanted to make. Every course (including amuses) was exceptionally good. And the flavor of the locally grown greens and vegetables was incredible. Chef Hayden has done an incredible job here and his influence is felt whether he's there or not."

  • "The atmosphere is relaxing and decorated like a pottery barn showroom. Drinks were great and food is excellent with great presentation. The staff is great, not overbearing. As always a great experience."

  • "An early bird price fixe was a true bargain. It offered my wife's first choice entree. The bread, barely touched with olive oil had a hint of fresh popcorn. The oyster bisque was the best either of us had ever had. The tuna tartare had a crisp. slightly spicy twist and fresh crisp taro chips. The scallops on potato crisps had three contrasting sauces/dips and wilted spinach. Perfectly cooked swordfish wrapped in Italian eggplant sat on an incredible coconut curry tapioca and delicate vegetables. Despite the fact that this was an hour and twenty minute drive, we will be back. Maybe the most memorable thing was the attentive service without pretense when this kind of foodie experience is often very pretentious, particularly in the Hamptons."

  • "This restaurant is THE best restaurant on Long Island- HANDS DOWN. The service, execution, and food are above and beyone anything else there is. Great job to the whole team from the bread handlers to the stellar server to the inspiring and dedicated owners. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

  • "A North Fork gem. Cannot find one thing we did not like. Desserts delectible too! Would love to check out their food truck for lunch."

  • "Informally elegant dining. Creative preparations rivaling most upscale New York City restaurants. Service was most attentive and professional, but non-intrusive. A distance away but well worth the extra miles required to reach the destination."

  • "What an enjoyable dinner. Probably the best meal I have ever been served in Long Island."

  • "Went with a group of friends for a special birthday and was disappointed. Considering how many millions of waiters and kitchen helpers they had our food and service should have been perfect! Maybe this was a case of too many cooks in the kitchen. It sure looked that way. We ordered 3 duck breast entrees- 2 were cold and one was 10 minutes late. OK. Stuff happens, but not a waitperson or most importantly- a manager- came over to express apologies. It was actually shocking. The food was delicious, but a test of a good restaurant is how they handle the problems. And I'd say they failed this one."

  • "We had heard good things about this restaurant from several people. Since we were headed out East to refill our wine stock we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to try the restaurant. We were not disappointed. We decided to order the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing as we usually order a bottle of wine and the cost of the pairing was in our ballpark. the food was wonderful. My husband who doesn't usually like bisque soups LOVED the oyster bisque. Neither of us would ordinarily choose a dish with coconut curry no matter how mild - the Maine lobster with coconut curry sauce was wonderful. The duck confit strudel melted in your mouth. And nothing tops off a meal like a chocolate soufflé. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves."

  • "A warm and inviting restaurant with food every bit as good as its reputation. They went out of their way to make sure I had gluten free selections that were as delectable as everyone else's dishes. The desserts were beyond amazing! Highly recommend . Worth every penny."

  • "This was our second time at The North Fork Table and Inn to celebrate our anniversary! Everything from start to finish was amazing; from them adjusting our reservation, to greeting us at our table with champagne to toast or celebration, to end the perfect meal with an anniversary cake almost to pretty to eat."

  • "My date and I drove over an hour each to dine at your well touted restaurant. We were very excited to have a romantic and delicious meal. The ambiance was lovely, the hostess was welcoming and warm, the servers were sweet and the noise level was low. However, the bartender was aloof, the food was cold, and really not very tasty. The scallops were paired with chorizo? and some brown paste which was barely palatable though it was all quite pricey. My date's pork was beautifully presented but lacked any wow factor, and it too was cold. Even the apple tart was too sweet. I'm sorry but the meal itself was sorely lacking and at that price, which I don't mind paying for an excellent meal, I'd be hard pressed to return."

  • "Food was fantastic! The only reccomendation I have is to make dessert a bit sweeter. The first two courses were the best meals I have ever eaten!"

  • "Everything about this experience was wonderful. The selection & description of each dish were varied enough to satisfy all tastes. Presentation was lovely and did justice to the food. Our group of 4 had that many appetizers & each of us raved about what we had- & wouldn't share! The mushroom strudel & foie gras looked especially indulgent, in the best ways possible. Main courses were equal & I recommends the pork tenderloin, although the sea scallops looked equally perfect. Service and ambience brought or all together."

  • "Love the quiet, understated decor, friendly welcome, well-trained waitstaff, and above all, excellent, imaginative food, beautifully presented. North Fork Table takes advantage of the growing community of boutique food producers on the North Fork to produce delicious, meals, with as many locally sourced ingredients as possible --- all topped off by the not-to-be missed desserts."

  • "Superb service from start to finish. Dishes reach the table with the precision of a Swiss watch. The wine list is good for local varieties, but we brought an Argentinian which the wait staff decanted for us. First courses for us were the duck breast (superb) and cabbage/mushroom egg roll (crisped to perfection, but gooey and no mushroom flavor). Main courses were venison, beef and pork. All good, but so simple as to err on the bland side. Finally, the ball was hit out of the park with the desserts. I am not a dessert person, but NFT is the place to go for brilliant sweets. We had tapioca pudding and the banana peanut ice cream sandwich. Swoon! Bottom line: super clean food simply prepared, superb service. Worth every penny."

  • "We were given a gift certificate that we put towards the Chef's tasting. The meal is a great deal for the prize as the ingredients are top notch and the preparation was exceptional. Every coarse was prepared to perfection and each blended beautifully into the next. The restaurant also sells chocolate chip cookies which you should purchase to take home as they are scrumptious."

  • "The NFTI is the best restaurant in this area. The food is fantastic, service very good and there are people who make sure you are enjoying your experience. When you are spending money on a nice dinner, it means a lot for the owner and hostess to make sure you have everything you need. Well worth the money."

  • "We have been here several times and the food is consistently superb. Everything is good, including outstanding desserts. This is our go-to place in the North Fork."

  • "Everything, from the welcome we received to the farewell from our hostess, through a wonderful dining experience, was excellent. Service is young and energetic, yet very professional and nice with a warm smile. The dishes are inventive and all very obviously prepared using high quality, fresh ingredients. I would highly recommend the hamachi foie gras (appetizer), an unlikely but oh-so-perfect combination. Next up the venison or the duck breast, in each case, the meat was of an outstanding quality. Finally top it all off with a tarte tatin (aka apple tarte) or really any of the desserts, you can't go wrong. Only sore point of the evening was the wine list. It's short and you likely won't find what you're looking for."

  • "Food was good not great, some items not well prepared - chewy lobster, mushy and soupy risotto. Preparation of food did not equal the prices they charged. Wine list was fairly narrow, not very interesting and disappointed it did not include some of the better North Fork wines."

  • "Delicious, imaginative food with creative combinations of flavors; friendly, knowledgeable, attentive service. The spare decor looks good, but causes a loud room when busy. Pricey; most of the time, they have only a prix fixe (at $75) and a tasting menu ($150l). They do participate in Restaurant Week and have been known to have an early dinner menu ($45 prix fixe with very limited selections, before 6:30 pm). At any time, it is amazingly delicious (save room for dessert!)."

  • "We love our dinners out with good friends at North Fork Table. Our most recent meal featured the winter tasting menu, and, from first bite to last, we were pleased. Two of us are not beef eaters; the chef ably substituted his cavatelli, a wonderfully flavorful dish. Our server was personable, knowledgeable, and just the right level of attentive. We especially appreciate the warm reception from front of the house and the sense that we get of returning to a high-quality yet unpretentious evening."
