Diner Reviews
  • "We were looking forward to this and were disappointted. Our group of 5 was seated at a small oblong table in the back of the restaurant. The view was an awning that had fallen down. Above us, masking tape on the duct. The server didn't know how to decant wine. With so many terrific restaurants in Saratoga Springs, we would not return to Mouzon House."

  • "We had a very enjoyable time with friends on Saturday night. The food and service were excellent, but the food was pricey. The next time I order a special, I will ask how much it costs before I order it. Would we go back? Only if there is a Groupon or Living Social deal."

  • "Dining at the Mouzon House is an unforgettable experience. The food is heavenly delicious. The ambiance is unique, romantic and inviting. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgable, extremely helpful and gracious. He gave us a wonderful tour and told us about the incredible history of the Mouzon House. He described each dish so clearly and so well that it was very difficult to decide which of the delectable offerings to choose. The only solution to that dilemma is that we will have to go back again and again to satisfy our yearning to try everything on the menu. Our servings were very generous and beautifully presented. The Mouzon House is a treasure."

  • "We unknowingly visited during restaurant week, and there were 2 additional menus for us to choose from. The service was prompt, and the food was top notch."

  • "food was excellent, service great, friendly, drinks and wine were overpriced but good.2 drinks and a very meager fill of an "oaked" chardonnay were 30 $"

  • "Didn't realize that it was Restaurant Week. Menu was excellent and so was the food! I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Mouzon is one of the true food gem of Saratoga with a nice menu and a good wine list. The atmosphere is extremely friendly and the staff perfect."

  • "The food was outstanding. The server was friendly and as the son of the owners, so knowledgeable about the menu and the history associated with the house. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Saratoga Springs."

  • "Wife and I enjoyed excellent crawfish beignets, gumbo and shrimp and grits. Everything was outstanding, but the stuffed mushrooms were an unexpected surprise - easily some of the best I have had anywhere. Warm, intimate atmosphere is perfect for a cozy dinner with your significant other a small get-together with close friends. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great spot "off Broadway" in Saratoga Springs."

  • "Our party of six included two vegetarians and two vegans and everyone went home thrilled with their meal. The bread-freshly made and warm, served with a wonderful olive oil. The vegetarian tapas for apps feed the entire table and the salads were beautiful and shared by everyone. Really delicious. Then the entrees were served and across the board everyone had a great meal. Desserts were really special too. Service was A+, especially since it was a busy night. So glad we went--will definitely be back."

  • "Because of the weather, we celebrated Valentine's Day on the 15th. We wanted to try someplace we had never been to. We had a great bottle of wine ( Hahn Meritage ) and both meals were great. I had the fish special which was a grilled salmon over some unbelievable rice. She had the Cioppino. Both were outstanding"

  • "We have eaten at Mouzon House before and we are real fans of their Cajun cuisine. The Valentine's Day Menu was wonderful. We had oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer and I couldn't have been happier with it. My cioppino was fabulous, too, and my husband loved his mixed grill. We joked with our waitress because our plates were clear when she came to collect them. A lovely experience."

  • "The meal itself was wonderful. Beautifully prepared. Perhaps because it was Valentine's day, the service was very slow. We waited about 45 minutes after ordering for the food to arrive. As one would imagine, the restaurant was packed, which made for an abnormally high noise level (we have eaten there before when the noise was much less). We also thought that the menu was interesting and fairly valued. Certainly we will return there many times."

  • "Third visit to the Mouzon House, and the food was the best yet. Chefs continue to vary the menu offerings with a wide variety of dishes. Nice wine list that provides plenty of choices to match any food selection."

  • "Upon entering you get a good view of the kitchen...a nice thing for a diner. The bar area is quaint and quiet. We were seated in the back room which appeared to be a closed in porch...it would be great in the spring or summer but being it is winter I was cold and asked to be reseated. We were put at a lovely corner table in the main dining area...lots of great artwork that tells a story, but still on the cold side. We ordered the greens and beans app...the best I've had ANYWHERE...it was actually broccolini as the green. Also ordered was the orrichiete...amazing and light, and the coq au vin...honeslty... the most savory meal I've had in Saratoga in the last 12 years of living here! Can't wait to go back!!!"

  • "Good food and good service. Lovely surroundings and ambience. Also a really good bartender and nice "by the glass" wine list."

  • "We always choose Mouzon House for dinners with friends. The atmosphere is warm and convivial, the service is friendly and the food is delicious. During our last visit, our table chose Chicken Jambalaya, Orecchiette with Broccoli Rabe and Sausage, and the Mixed Grill. Fresh Oysters for starters. I had a delicious Zinfandel (a Ravens Wood by the glass) with my pasta. We shall return!"

  • "We made our reservations with Open Table and had requested a "quieter" table position for my elderly mother (who is hard of hearing) was with us. When we first approached the table, we headed towards seating directly off the lively bar area ( normally the bar is lightly filled). Our hostess sensed the possibility of a problem and quickly steered us to an adjacent, more serene room. To our delight, the chairs had lightweight throws decoratively placed on their backs (which we placed on my mother's shoulders) and a portable heater unobtrusively waved its welcomed heat our way. The dinner was nothing but superb! I could go on forever, but will leave it up to you to add your comments!"

  • "Restaurant is warm and cozy. Love the attention to detail with the tableware. All three diners enjoyed their meals. Especially the fish soup."

  • "I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant as in Mouzon. We ordered 4 dishes, none of which lived up to expectations and in some cases were inedible. The worst offense was with the gumbo and jumbalaya. It was obvious that these two items were almost exactly the same base with just more broth in the gumbo and more rice in the jumbalaya. Unfortunately, the base used had a very weird sweet smokey barbeque taste which did not work for us."

  • "Food was amazing. Table was too small for 4 people. Waiter was almost too attentive. Room was cold."

  • "My fiancé & I recently enjoyed a wonderful Sunday brunch at Mouzon House. The staff was warm and welcoming. We felt right at home as me munched on the unbelievably delicious crawfish beignets - they are an absolute must with any order. We had a nice chat with the owner while enjoying the relaxing vibe and rustic decor. The food was extra yummy - full of flavor but not too pricey. Can't wait to come back for dinner during our next visit to Saratoga!!"

  • "Good meal and excellent ambiance! Food was tasty and service was excellent. Did have to wait a while for our waitress to check on us during the course of the meal, but that was a minor issue. Only complaint is that the room we were dining in had a noticeable tilt and that made sitting at the table a bit uncomfortable. Would like to try another room next time. We enjoyed ourselves and will return soon."

  • "I didn't feel like any of the staff wanted me and my friend to be there. Maybe it's because we're young and the restaurant is geared at older people, I don't know, but my overall experience was insulting. I've been twice and the first time the food was spectacular, but the second time it was surprisingly mediocre. It's a game of chance, I guess."

  • "The Mouzon House accommodated our three generation birthday gathering with both good food and service. Menu featuring use of local products was appreciated-as was the pleasant décor. Have been several times before, but this was the most demanding group and all was handled professionally."

  • "Interesting Creole-inspired food in a lovely venue. There's an outdoor dining area along with an outdoor bar that looked inviting but the weather was cold and we couldn't take advantage of the space. Our server was lovely and knowledgeable. We only wish we lived closer!"

  • "The salads we had was very good. I was disappointed with the sweet potato gnocchi as it was swimming in oil (even though the gnocchi themselves were tasty). The veal chop was unusual as it was a 2 in thick but turns out was filled with very tasty filling. Overall quite good."

  • "Love this place for local sourcing, organic, low or no pesticide options. I am on chemo therapy and finding restaurants that do not have GMOs or bad additives in their food is hard. Finding excellent ingredients from this kind of health perspective with an excellent chef is nearly impossible - mouzan does it though"

  • "I went with my family and some friends for brunch to Mouzon House and we had a great time. We sat in the deck area and while it was somewhat chilly, the food was delicious and the restaurant quaint and comfortable. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone for brunch and I bet it is good choice for dinner, as well. Homemade bagels, too!"

  • "Highly recommended. Food was great, beautiful outdoor bar setting, trendy drinks. I imagined that this place would be precious or stuffy but the place was hopping and the Cajun influenced food was first class. Came with a group of guys after the races and had a private room but this would be a great romantic spot on the roof top."
