Diner Reviews
  • "Mouzon seems to be on of the best places in Saratoga right now. Interesting food and great setting. This last time I was a bit disappointed in the food. Some in our group of 6 had very good food while other items (chicken) were overdone and lacking. The salads were fine but those who ordered the cheddar and apples on the salad for an upcharge could barely discern those in their salads. Also, both types of salads we ordered were barely dressed. This menu is definitely not for everyone. Many items have a lot of spice or heat. A nice spot but not the best evening there."

  • "I dined at The Mouzon House for this first time this past weekend and I can't believe I have never been there before now. It was a busy weekend in town so I used the search option on Open Table to find restaurants that had reservation times available for when my party wanted to dine. The style of food is Creole which is a personal favorite, and we were seated upstairs in an open air room and surrounded by the foliage of surrounding trees - it was like being on a tropical island. We ordered apps, salads, entrees, dessert, and wine and everything we were served was super delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves good Louisiana style food and anyone who is looking for something a little out of the ordinary."

  • "Pricey, so save for a special occasion. Parking lot was full, we parked illegally but didn't get a ticket."

  • "This was the 4th time I have dined here. The food has always been very tasty. My sister and I ordered fish of the day which happened to be Cod. It was prepared with nice mixture of spices and had this very nice spicy sauce when combined with the fish was very delicious. Served with this dish was dirty rice. On many occasions I've had the Cioppino and really never been disappointed. I would give this restaurant a try you might find your self coming back just one more time!"

  • "We never have been disappointed, very friendly service, the specials are different and innovative, awesome food. The inside surprised with the upper level under roof, yet open windows and views to all sides. Can't wait to go back."

  • "New Orleans style decor and creole menu. The art work is unique. The food was well prepared and savory."

  • "We read reviews about this restaurant and knew we would enjoy it. The house special drinks and food were creative. The staff was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. We will definitely return to this restaurant when we are in the area."

  • "The food is wonderful - so interesting, creative and delicious! It's the kind of food you never want to end. Our server had the perfect combination of friendliness and professionalism. She did not intrude but checked on every course. She was knowledgeable about the wine and the menu. The only drawback of the evening was that we requested to sit outside. Don't do that. To me, it was uncomfortable. The floor had not been swept and we were seated next to the open door of a messy service station. Other than that it was a perfect evening. We will go to the Mouzon House every time we visit Saratoga! Don't miss this fantastic restaurant!"

  • "Living in Saratoga we have dozens of places to choose from. My wife and I have eaten here before and the food was excellent once again! Our waitress Dori made the even better!"
    Dined on 6/19/2014
  • "The Jambalaya and Chicken and Waffles were awesome. Sunday Brunch however is kind of a bust since you can't get drinks until 1200 on Sundays so don't expect any Mimosas or Bloody Marys. "

  • "Mouzon House was extremely accommodating of our last-minute addition of three extra friends, and gave us a room to ourselves. No trouble hearing one another AND we didn't worry about our merriment disturbing others. The bartender was gracious and solicitous, the waitstaff appropriately attentive but not intrusive. Though she was yet another who commits the annoying sin of announcing specials without their price. I hate this. Don't make me ask. Sadly, the food was uneven. The $38 steak special was good, the beet risotto was judged "out of this world, and the vegetarian tapas were good. The jambalaya tasted strangely muddy, the pork special was dry and overly salty, the mushroom pasta had an off flavor, and the mixed veggies were meh. "

  • "Very pricey - wasn't worth the money for the amount of food you received - For instance: $3.00 for 2 little pieces of cornbread and 2 tiny bisquits - neither of which was all that good."

  • "I have always wanted to try The Mouzon House and so delighted I did for Easter Brunch. I made a reservation through OpenTable (which is a great app for last minute planners like me) The atmosphere and feel was relaxed yet sophisticated. Diane and the staff were attentive and friendly. I felt as if I was at a friends house for a special meal. Our party of three left more then satisfied and looking forward to returning as soon as possible to try the dinner menu and/or a drink on the outside garden bar. "

  • "We love this restaurant, we are locals and have eaten here multiple times during all seasons and have never had a bad meal. The service is always friendly and they know their menu, including the memorized nightly specials. The crawfish beignets are to die for, as is the shrimp and grits but don't let that stop you from trying any of their other delicious locally-sourced dishes. We also like that some dishes you can get a half portion(so you can try more menu items or eat lighter). The atmosphere here is hard to beat, in fact I don't think it can be! The inside of the house, where the main dining is, is so charming and the outdoor bar and deck eating area are the best for summer months. This is by far one of the best restaurants in Saratoga."

  • "lots of great choices on menu & specials - we have to go back a lot so we can try all the things we didn't get to try this time!!!"

  • "We were looking forward to this and were disappointted. Our group of 5 was seated at a small oblong table in the back of the restaurant. The view was an awning that had fallen down. Above us, masking tape on the duct. The server didn't know how to decant wine. With so many terrific restaurants in Saratoga Springs, we would not return to Mouzon House."

  • "We had a very enjoyable time with friends on Saturday night. The food and service were excellent, but the food was pricey. The next time I order a special, I will ask how much it costs before I order it. Would we go back? Only if there is a Groupon or Living Social deal."

  • "Dining at the Mouzon House is an unforgettable experience. The food is heavenly delicious. The ambiance is unique, romantic and inviting. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgable, extremely helpful and gracious. He gave us a wonderful tour and told us about the incredible history of the Mouzon House. He described each dish so clearly and so well that it was very difficult to decide which of the delectable offerings to choose. The only solution to that dilemma is that we will have to go back again and again to satisfy our yearning to try everything on the menu. Our servings were very generous and beautifully presented. The Mouzon House is a treasure."

  • "food was excellent, service great, friendly, drinks and wine were overpriced but good.2 drinks and a very meager fill of an "oaked" chardonnay were 30 $"

  • "The food was outstanding. The server was friendly and as the son of the owners, so knowledgeable about the menu and the history associated with the house. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Saratoga Springs."

  • "Wife and I enjoyed excellent crawfish beignets, gumbo and shrimp and grits. Everything was outstanding, but the stuffed mushrooms were an unexpected surprise - easily some of the best I have had anywhere. Warm, intimate atmosphere is perfect for a cozy dinner with your significant other a small get-together with close friends. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great spot "off Broadway" in Saratoga Springs."

  • "Our party of six included two vegetarians and two vegans and everyone went home thrilled with their meal. The bread-freshly made and warm, served with a wonderful olive oil. The vegetarian tapas for apps feed the entire table and the salads were beautiful and shared by everyone. Really delicious. Then the entrees were served and across the board everyone had a great meal. Desserts were really special too. Service was A+, especially since it was a busy night. So glad we went--will definitely be back."

  • "Because of the weather, we celebrated Valentine's Day on the 15th. We wanted to try someplace we had never been to. We had a great bottle of wine ( Hahn Meritage ) and both meals were great. I had the fish special which was a grilled salmon over some unbelievable rice. She had the Cioppino. Both were outstanding"

  • "The meal itself was wonderful. Beautifully prepared. Perhaps because it was Valentine's day, the service was very slow. We waited about 45 minutes after ordering for the food to arrive. As one would imagine, the restaurant was packed, which made for an abnormally high noise level (we have eaten there before when the noise was much less). We also thought that the menu was interesting and fairly valued. Certainly we will return there many times."

  • "We have eaten at Mouzon House before and we are real fans of their Cajun cuisine. The Valentine's Day Menu was wonderful. We had oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer and I couldn't have been happier with it. My cioppino was fabulous, too, and my husband loved his mixed grill. We joked with our waitress because our plates were clear when she came to collect them. A lovely experience."

  • "Third visit to the Mouzon House, and the food was the best yet. Chefs continue to vary the menu offerings with a wide variety of dishes. Nice wine list that provides plenty of choices to match any food selection."

  • "Upon entering you get a good view of the kitchen...a nice thing for a diner. The bar area is quaint and quiet. We were seated in the back room which appeared to be a closed in porch...it would be great in the spring or summer but being it is winter I was cold and asked to be reseated. We were put at a lovely corner table in the main dining area...lots of great artwork that tells a story, but still on the cold side. We ordered the greens and beans app...the best I've had ANYWHERE...it was actually broccolini as the green. Also ordered was the orrichiete...amazing and light, and the coq au vin...honeslty... the most savory meal I've had in Saratoga in the last 12 years of living here! Can't wait to go back!!!"

  • "We always choose Mouzon House for dinners with friends. The atmosphere is warm and convivial, the service is friendly and the food is delicious. During our last visit, our table chose Chicken Jambalaya, Orecchiette with Broccoli Rabe and Sausage, and the Mixed Grill. Fresh Oysters for starters. I had a delicious Zinfandel (a Ravens Wood by the glass) with my pasta. We shall return!"

  • "We made our reservations with Open Table and had requested a "quieter" table position for my elderly mother (who is hard of hearing) was with us. When we first approached the table, we headed towards seating directly off the lively bar area ( normally the bar is lightly filled). Our hostess sensed the possibility of a problem and quickly steered us to an adjacent, more serene room. To our delight, the chairs had lightweight throws decoratively placed on their backs (which we placed on my mother's shoulders) and a portable heater unobtrusively waved its welcomed heat our way. The dinner was nothing but superb! I could go on forever, but will leave it up to you to add your comments!"
