Diner Reviews
  • "The food was excellent, but we had a slight misunderstanding with the server regarding menu choices. She basically told us what would be best for our party that resulted in not exactly what we wanted and at a much higher price. We were somewhat dismayed and disappointed."

  • "It was an excellent experience with knowledgable staff and great food, price was to be expected and worth it for the entire experience!"

  • "Fondue that you cook at your table; a lot of fun. Four course meal gives you your cheese course, salad, meat course, and desert. Great variety. And the service was exceptional."

  • "My friends and I have been here several times. Food is always good. The wine list is a little thin now compared to what it was last time I was there, but I was able to find something decent. It's a great way to have dinner and still be able to talk without being rushed."

  • "This was my first time at the Melting Pot. Sevice was great! Very Nice and clean. The only down fall is it is way to expensive. My lady and I shared a meal. 4 shrimp 4 little pieces of chicken and 2 pieces of steak.....also small. We had the cheese fondue it was good....again a lot of money. Had a couple of drinks (each) $$$$$$ 106.00 WITH TIP. I guess thats all i can complain about. If it wasnt so expensive I think you would get more familys for dinner. THE SERVICE WAS GREAT!!!!!"

  • "I love the Melting Pot. I have been here several times and always had an amazing experience. Definitely try this place out!"

  • "My husband and I had been to the Melting Pot a few years back and had a great memory of of that date. I am so happy that this recent visit did not disappoint at all! Wonderful private, high backed booths really give that sense of being in your own special place. The food is delightful of course and so unique. It is not just a nice restaurant, it is an experience! It was also very convenient to be able to reserve a table and time online. I appreciated being able to view the menu online as well. Also, we loved the 4 course options."

  • "This was our third or fourth trip to this specific Melting Pot. The food was outstanding, as expected. The service was so-so. We had reservations and were seated immediately when we arrived. After that it seemed we were forgotten about for a time. Many employees walked by our table and did not come take any kind of order. Eventually someone brought us water and then two different waitresses attempted to take our drink order. Our waitress was very kind and nice, I understand it was a Saturday evening, but service was SLOOOOOW. We still tipped 25%. Nevertheless, we will return again in the future. We only come for special occasions and when we can afford to do the four course experience (once known as The Big Night Out)."

  • "We were well taken care of; service was great. Food was delicious. The personalized plate they brought out that said congratulations was so sweet. Would definitely eat here again."

  • "The cheese and chocolate items were amazing! Bursting with flavor!"

  • "We had a really poor experience with our waiter...didn't know the drink specials, seemed rushed and unsure of anything, no suggestions even when asked for his opinion, did not mention the special occasion that we went to this restaurant to celebrate ( it was on the reservation and the hostess mentioned it when seating us). I did contact the manager the next day and he was very gracious about the incident."

  • "The staff was welcoming and friendly from time walked into the door to the time we left. It was just two of us and Melting Pot has the perfect booths for two...I will say it was a concern because I didn't want to be yelling across a booth but at MP we sat next to each other in a cozy setting. The server was great, friendly, sense of humor and knowledgeable."

  • "The atomoshpere and ambience was great. Our waitress was informative and nice overall. For the quality and abundance of our main dishes (we each ordered the Land and Sea) it was definitely not worth the money. We each got 4 littlepieces of steak, 4 little pieces of chicken, and 4 low quality pieces of shrimp... I would recommend this place for people who want the feel of a fondue ambience, does not care for the quality of the food, and want to pay big money for it"

  • "My girlfriend and I went there for a nicer date. It was a very nice dinner. We got very good food. We did a Cheese fondue, main course, and Desert and we were there for about 2 hours. It is not a quicker dinner but it is definitely something I would recommend. they also have nice packages for romantic dates."

  • "A new twist on dining out. You need patience as you cook your own food (if you didn't already know that). Ask for the dressing on the side - our salads were drenched in it. Ask for extra dipping sauces right away - we never got ours. Wine flights varied in amounts provided...and of course the one I liked the best, I received the least of! The food was very good. Although not a place that you can go back to as a staple restaurant - it's great for a special occasion or at least try it once."

  • "Started off with being seated at a nice small cozy booth for 2. Then realized we can only order 1 fondue even though we are ordering 2 separate meals. Had to ask 2 times until a manager finally came over to be seated somewhere with 2 burners so that we can actually get some variety in our meal. We have been wanting to come here for quite some time and it was our anniversary so decided to surprise her. But unfortunately, it was not what we expected. The cheese fondues were great. The main entrees were nothing special. The desert was to die for though. Overall, the meals were overpriced and definitely not worth it if you have to share the same fondues when paying for the price of 2.Might go back for cheese fondue or desert but not a full meal"

  • "We both had the four course dinner. The new Wisconsin cheese was very good, I like the hot sauce that was added. I had the house salad with the sweet and tangy dressing, excellent! Steak lovers and land/sea provided more than enough food and really two could share! We chose the mojo broth, I was not a fan of the cilantro taste but it was not bad. Dessert we had flaming turtle with added peanut butter, a must! The atmosphere was busy and loud not the intimate experience we remembered from past visits."

  • "I am a very big fan of The Melting Pot. I like the food, the wine, the experience...I just don't like the Troy location. I have dined with them three times in 16 months, and all three times have been a colossal failure in terms of timely and attentive service. This most recent time just hit a new low, however. We did not get sat for our 8:00 reservation (party of 4) until almost 8:40. It then took another 20+ minutes to get our drinks. This is simply unacceptable, even by TMP - Troy standards. I'm done with this location. Next time I want fondue, I'll head to Novi or Mt. Clemens."

  • "We had a great time celebrating my mother's birthday. We were able to take our time and really enjoy time together, while enjoying tasty food that we got to prepare ourselves."

  • "This is the first time the four of us have ever been to The Melting Pot and loved the food, atmosphere and the service was excellent. I wish I could remember her name but it was a Hawaiian name. She did a fantastic job."

  • "Perfect for a first date! Takes a while to get through the full meal, which gives you plenty of time to get to know each other :)"

  • "The change to the menu for Restaurant Week to sample of meats rather than the fondue was awesome. That was a great lunch for $15.00."

  • "I have been to the Ann Arbor Melting Pot a few times but only once to the Troy one, and was glad to return for restaurant week. Everything was excellent except there was a bit of a draft, and I wasn't sure where it was coming from ... other than that, the meal was great."

  • "Hostess was not on top of her game. She was rushed and a little rude. We stood at a dirty table waiting for her to come back to wipe it for at least 5 minutes with our party of 6. Our waiter was polite and attentive but would be gone for chunks of time and not around. The cracks in the tiles on the table were full if gunk that I could wipe out with my napkin and the ladies restroom was extremely dirty and coveted in garbage paper towels and toilet paper. We only went for a dessert fondue and it was very tasty."

  • "Our server was outstanding as well as others that helped along the evening with little things. This experience was superb and I even let the manager know how pleased we were since it was out first visit ."

  • "First time at a fondue restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. The drinks were made good, but pricey and a bit small. The cost overall was very expensive. It is a unique experience and definitely worth more than normal style restaurants, but too expensive. The atmosphere was great. The music, lighting, and privacy of the booths made it very romantic. I would highly recommend trying it at least once, but make it a special occasion, and save some bucks up first."

  • "Very pricey for us but it was great for a special occasion. All of the food was very good and the waiter was very helpful since we had never been there before. He made great recommendations and was very friendly and funny. There was plenty of food and a large variety."

  • "Our waiter seem annoyed with our group and never explained how the Melting Pot works for the two people in our group who have never been there."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "The food was excellent as usual, our waitress was not. We did not see her for 30 minutes while waiting for the dessert course and had to flag down a different server twice to find her. When she got to our table we received no apology."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "Compared to a former experience at another location: Not impressed with service, food was excellent. A sign reading "Please use other door" and 4 or 5 servers/hostesses gathered inside blocked our way and did not acknowledge our presence so we walked around to the other door in the 10 deg weather, only to find the workers had dispersed and new arrivals entering Hostess was indirect in addressing parties to be seated. We had a reservation, but were given a seat at the far back next to an emergency exit with cold air pouring over us for 3 hours. Every word from a nearby couple was heard; annoying but a small positive because only through them did we learn we could have extra complimentary vegetables/fruits. Scripted conversation from waiter."

  • "Everything about our experience at The Melting Pot of Troy was amazing. The food, the atmosphere, and our server (John) were of the highest quality. I will definitely dine here again."

  • "This was the first visit to the Melting Pot for everyone in my party. Our waiter did a nice job of explaining the process to us. He checked back with us often enough to make sure we knew what we were doing but not so often that we felt rushed. He was very helpful in making recommendations to our table. We all completely enjoyed the experience and the food was fantastic."

  • "Very nice atmosphere and friendly employees. Have been to Melting Pot several times and usually the food is consistently good."

  • "Reservations are highly recommended. Talkative atmosphere, but it didn't seem excessively loud. As with most fondue, plan for up 3 hours. The service was responsive and friendly. We had the 4 course dinner and left stuffed."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "Food was good, but does not nearly stand up to the cost. I enjoyed the first time visit, but only as a novelty as I will not return due to the prices."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "Our waitress was very engaging as she was preparing our fondu yet appropriately left us to enjoy the food."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "This restaurant is more about the experience than the food. Food was good but spending 2 -3 hours with friends and family sharing the experience is the special point. The cost/value relationship makes it a place that I would not consider making a regular haunt."

  • "I have been to many of restaurants and have encountered some impatient staff members, but Robert had patience and was very courteous. Some of my guess arrived a little late, not only did he allow us to stay pass closing he was entertaining. This was the best birthday gathering I've ever had at any given restaurant."
