  • "It was probably the only time we will ever eat there, it was expensive,However the experience was awesome."

  • "It was more about the experience and less about the food but overall it was good"

  • "Our server Melissa was awesome. We were there celebrating our anniversary and she gave us champagne on the house. Food was also very good... Cheese and chocolate fondues was delicious."

  • "We were seated in a private area which I found to be incredibly romantic. We had an amazing waiter and he was good about explaining things to us. Food and drink was INCREDIBLE. We both loved the Entree part of the four course meal that we received for a reasonable price."

  • "It was my Grandson's 13th Birthday ad they made it great! They had a birthday card on the table when we arrived and our server made him feel very special. The food could not have been better. It was great."

  • "We always have a great time when we come to the melting pot the food is amazing but to top it off vince is the best server there is he makes it amazing."

  • "I have been to the Melting Pot numerous times. The server was the main problem this time. I thought he was new and come to find out he had been working there two years. Not very friendly. Didn't keep our drinks refilled without asking. Failed to mention that there was an extra charge for the cooking styles that were ordered. When taking our money he confused two of the orders and had to straighten that out. We spoke to the manager afterwards and didn't get anything but a sorry. There were 3 first time people to the Melting Pot with me and I am sure they will never come back and I will never recommend going there to anyone again."

  • "Was the first time that we had been there, was our anniversary and very pleased with the food and service."

  • "This restaurant is different than almost any other. It had a very romantic and almost private seating. You basically cook your own food with your date, which is romantic in itself. The service was excellent. The only exception I have is the price paid for the four course meal is a little overpriced in comparison to what you can get at other restaurants. However the experience in some ways makes up of that. With that said it is great place to go for a special occasion."

  • "There was 5 in our group, including an 11 year old. We went for a celebration. What stands out most is the service. One member of our party had a food allergy & our server went out of his way to make the food as safe as possible. He even went to the restaurant above to borrow a substitute ingredient. A fun dining atmosphere for a group & 11 year old loves it. It is not a place to go for a quick bite, but to savor & enjoy the food & company. We were there 3 hours. ONLY complaint is seating. We were sitting in a long booth. The seats sat low & it was difficult to reach across the table to the pots. It would have been easier had the seats been higher. Great experience. I recommend it, be prepared to spend some money for the full experience!"

  • "I love cheese and the cheese dip was great, I could have just ordered the cheese and the chocolate and been full and happy. Loved watching them make the dip in front of us."

  • "As always the food was excellent. We love to go there for special occasions. Its quiet and romantic. Our server was a bit slow and took too long to retrieve drinks and such. Overall will go back again and again."

  • "Our server was not very good at all. After we told him we didn't want the 4 course meal he just seemed like we were a nuisance. We order and second beer and 15 minutes later he came back asked us if we still wanted it. We said no and decided not to order chocolate fondue so we could leave."

  • "A lot of training of new people so service was a little slow but otherwise up to Melting Pot standards."

  • "My husband and I shared our 5th anniversary at The Melting Pot. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. We got the romance package which included a bottle of wine and our picture together which was a great way to remember our special night. We received private dining and were able to focus on each other without distractions. We will definitely be back again for special occasions in the future!"

  • "The hostess have a lot to work on. The place was empty, and we had a reservation. We still waited 25 minutes to be seated at a table that was open, and clean when we got there. Typically not a problem, but we were trying to make a movie afterwards. Once seated though, the waiter was good. I would say for me, it's not a place to go for a main course. The meat you cook yourself, in a broth. there is a much better way to do it. But the cheese Fondue is great, and the chocolate is even better. So next time, we'll just do a cheese, cheese, chocolate 3 course meal."

  • "Wonderful and good place for a romantic dinner with your loved ones."

  • "I have been to The Melting Pot numerous times, as it's my favorite restaurant in Kansas City and why I chose it to celebrate a milestone birthday of mine. Some dining experiences were better than others, and at this particular restaurant, having great, personable wait staff is critical. Sadly, of all the times I've been to this place, this was by FAR the worst service I've experienced. Maybe our waitress was overwhelmed by our group of 11; maybe she was having a bad day overall. She was patronizing ("I'll give you FIVE MORE MINUTES and then I WILL take your order,"), unpleasant, was rude and dismissive to some of my guests, and even allowed the bar to send a drink back to us when we complained it wasn't satisfactory. Unbelievable."

  • "The food was great, as well as the service. We loved the cheese fondue and chocolate the best and loved the variety of dipping items for our dessert! Our server was great at explaining how the whole process worked and we will definitely be back soon!"

  • "It was so dark we could not read the menu or see our food. Staff was pleasant. But we will not be back. It felt like a dungeon."

  • "This place is wonderful from the moment you walk in the door the hostess are friendly and very nice. The you get to your private table our server was VINCE he was so amazing we love him and we will keep coming back over and over again. Also there gluten free options are amazing"

  • "Refreshing to find a place that has everything ! Great food prices just wish the drinks were a little less in price. I wouldn't change anything else."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "It seems dark when you first come inside and go downstairs, but it becomes warm and cozy. The booths are high backed so each table becomes it's own intimate setting. The food is excellent, and you are able to try several different types of food. They also offer gluten free options. The citrus pork medallions was our family favorite. But you can't leave until you have the Yin Yang chocolate fondue. It is as fantastic tasting as it is beautiful in the presentation."

  • "This was a new experience for me & it was enjoyable. My daughter & I ordered the cheddar fondue w/Italian meats. The Italian meats were delicious & filling. The serving amounts were generous & we didn't have to wait long. My daughter ordered the chocolate fondue. I can't remember how many pictures she took of the design of the chocolate & white chocolate! The fresh fruit was great. She especially liked the cheese cake. The service was excellent."

  • "Two family members were turning 20 and wanted to celebrate at The Melting Pot. We had visited before for the dessert fondue but decided to try the 4-course menu. The cheese, salad and dessert course were awesome but the entree was a little underwhelming. The meats were all very fresh, but boiled steak and chicken? And way too few veggies. That said, our server Michael was incredible and ensured each course flowed to the next seamlessly. Everything tasted great and fondue dessert as always was a great finish. Start to finish we were there a little over 2 hours so relax and enjoy a great and very fun experience."

  • "Was upset that we got one burning pot even after I notified restaurant that I had severe allergies to seafood. This ruined the experience for my whole table. Our server made no effort to find us a table with 2 burners when ask to speak no a manager no one came. We speny $250 with 3 of the people highly dissatified"

  • "We love the Melting Pot for special occasions. It is definitely a unique experience. The bar area is less romantic--they have TVs and were playing sports and "Cops" when we were there. I felt it was an odd choice for a fondue restaurant, but they must be trying to reach a broader base. It can get pricey if you choose to do multiple courses, but the food is amazing."

  • "Felt very comfortable bringing children even though a very nice place. Private, quiet, and great food."

  • "We had a great experience. They had a birthday card and tiara waiting. Though I would not call this a kid friendly restaurant my 6 year old loves it and had a great time as well. If you have never been before do know it can be a lengthy dining process."

  • "We were seated within five minutes of our reservation time. The staff was very professional and helpful. The service and food were amazing. The restaurant was very clean and easy to navigate through."

  • "I came here to celebrate my birthday and engagement with my parents and the food, wine, and service were all excellent. The prices are a little steep, but the experience and the high quality foods make it worth it."
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "This place would be great if you wanted to dip appetizer foods into cheese, or fruit into chocolate. But as for a sit down meal, this is way too expensive. You pay a higher price for a meal you have to cook yourself. The servers bring out your unprepared food and you have cook each piece. Nothing really for the server or the cook to do. I would not go back unless I had a lot of friends that wanted to just drink a glass of wine and maybe nibble on some cheese."

  • "No complaints with the food. My husband and I make it to the Melting Pot once a year. However, this was our first time at the KC location. We went the day after Valentine's Day. Our waiter and the one helping the table next to us complained the entire time about their long day yesterday. Got a little annoying after awhile. Didn't enjoy being in the basement either. Like the Tulsa location much better. Will probably go to that one from now on."
