  • "GHT always delivers amazing menu choices. Our service was chilly, and we were a chatty group of 6, which seemed frustrating. I asked for an outdoor table in my reservation, and followed up by phone to request the same, but we were not accommodated when we arrived (on a Tuesday at 5:30, with baseball out of town). I also mentioned in my reservation that my guests were from out of town - I had hoped to make a better Cle impression, but service and indoor seating made it average."

  • "Funky place but a bit loud. Great food. The chicken wings are good -- fall off the bone and not sloppy. Green bean casserole was really good -- the beans done just right. Not too hard and not mushy. The vegan fettuccine was so good but small portion. The pork was fabulous. The fried chicken was worth getting as well. Our server made great suggestions and was very knowledgable."

  • "Wasn't a particularly crowded night, but our server brought out the wrong entree for me and forgot my appetizer until they had served all the other guests entrees. Then, when they finally brought my correct entree, it was undercooked and I had to send it back again. They comped a dessert for me, but they are plenty of other good restaurants in this area."

  • "After enjoying drinks and appetizers,we decided to order dinner. That was when our lousy waiter tells us there were no Fred Flintstone ribs, and the replacement will take 45 minutes to prepare. Ok, we will have the pigs head. Again he tells us 45 minutes to prepare. No sense telling us that an hour ago,noooo. How about desert? That takes another 15 minutes to prepare!!! WTF!!! Great location, the food we did order was good (pork chops) but many in our party felt the portions were too small. I will go somewhere else next time."

  • "The Greenhouse Tavern is an amazing restaurant. The wine and beer selection is great. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu either - highlights include the Fred Flintstone Short Rib (if you're lucky enough to get one), the Properly Butchered Steak (amazing, tender, flavorful!), wings, pasta, anything. I only wish they still offered the bread tray appetizer which is sadly no longer available (Jul 2014). If you want to impress someone with a wonderful dining experience, you can't go wrong with Greenhouse."

  • "I frequented The Greenhouse regularly a couple of years ago. I loved the food, the service, and the vibe. My visit Wednesday night changed my mind about this restaurant. The menu has been changed into an esoteric over the top bill of fare. My friends had burgers, which they did enjoy. I ordered the chicken wings which used to make me salivate in joy, not so that night. The wings were a bit dry, the presentation was horrid, a few wings on a white plate. They used to be presented in a bowl. I also ordered the kale salad. It was horrible. The kale was tough, the flavor was peculiar. I will not be returning any time soon."

  • "As always the food blew me out of the water. It was amazing! However, I was really dissappointed in the patio. I was looking forward to eating outside in E 4th but did not want to sit in uncomfortable folding chairs at picnic tables. Especially when I'm about to spend $120 (without alcohol) on dinner for two."

  • "This is a great resturant especially if you are a foodie! The chicken wing (yes, chicken wings) are fantastic and the Gnocchi Sardi Pasta with mushrooms is so yummy!! I wanted more the next day. My only wish is that I could have a straw with my cocktail!!! I know that they are not sustainable but I would be able to drink many more cocktails if there was a straw. What happened to the paper straws of the 70's? Can't they get some of those? Besides the straws....everything else was fantastic."

  • "Took 3 clients to Greenhouse before a Tribe game. As always the Wings are the best in the city. Entree's disappointed quite a bit. 2 guys had strip steak. Taste and sauce was excellent, but smaller portion for the price charged. 2 of us had the Walleye special. Excellent taste, but ridiculously small portion. Especially for the not mentioned up front price of $32. Cocktails were a very light pour and also pricey. Julian our waiter was prompt and very professional. Enjoyed Greenhouse as I have in the past but portions disappointed and pricing was generally high compared to many other options in downtown area."

  • "got the fred flintstone ribs, while they were as big as i expected, they also had way too much fat on them. my wife got the hamburger, for the price i expected it to be bigger. the fries had large chunks of garlic in them, gross. and $9 for a draft beer is way too expensive. I feel like i wasted $100 on a less then stellar meal, i won't be returning."

  • "I had some clients in town so I decided to take them here for dinner. The décor is unique and everyone liked it. There were a lot of young professionals in their 20s-30s at the bar, which gave it good energy. The food itself was disappointing. I ordered a lamb burger and a client ordered a regular burger. Just to double check, when the food was being delivered I asked the server if I got the lamb burger. He said yes. Halfway through our burgers we realized I was eating the regular burger and my client the lamb burger (it was medium, while the regular burger was ordered well done). My burger was loaded with salt and I barely got through it. The other entrees my clients had were just okay, they weren't crazy about them"

  • "After hearing and reading many good reviews of the restaurant, I decided to invite a few friends to dinner for my husband's birthday. Our server was very disappointing. He rushed through the explanation of the 5 course option and was not very knowledgeable about the wine list, but was eager to recommend a $14 glass of beer. We sat in the upstairs dining room, which was extremely hot and uncomfortable. The upside to the evening was the food, which was phenomenal! Since we had several 5-course meals at the table, we were able to sample quite a lot from the menu. Nothing was disappointing - it was all exceptional! We would definitely return for the food, but would request a different server and request a table on the main floor."

  • "We were with people who like to share and the restaurant has portions that make it easy to do that. The beef burger was done as ordered and very tasty. The special fish of the night, walleye, had a delicious preparation. And what can you say about the pig's head that comes on a giant platter that is meant to be shared - it was very tender and easily devoured by mainly the men in our party. The kale salad was good but a little spicy for some of us."

  • "Greenhouse is one of my favorite restaurants but I was really disappointed this weekend. I almost always get the rice & bean burger. I crave it when it's been too long. It was so sub-par this visit I couldn't keep eating it. It didn't seem cooked at all & there was hardly any burger to speak of, mostly just bread. The salad it comes with was way overdressed too. I should have given them a chance to fix it but the opportunity didn't present itself until late in the meal. The firsts and seconds we had were great and I'll definitely be back, I just probably won't get that burger again."

The food was outstanding...not weird combinations of ingredients like some "trendy" restaurants like to do, but high quality ingredients combined for excellent flavors. One of my top three meals ever! Had the pan friend pork chop saltimbocca...best pork chop I ever ate!"

  • "pricey for what you get but still good. Had the soft lettuce salad - excellent. Topped it with a veggie burger. Was warned that it is pink but that's because it is soaked in some kind of juice for flavor. The color wasn't a problem but the veggie patty was just OK. Wouldn't order it again. The fries were very good but very salty. But the do have iced green tea which is really good - especially on a warm afternoon."

  • "While the food was good, the service was terrible. We were entertaining guests from the west coast and eager to show off "Cleveland's finest." After waiting 10 minutes for water, our server greeted us. She reappeared 15 minutes later to take our order and when we tried to order the short rib we were informed it takes 90 minutes (not indicated on the menu..she said it used to be, but that info removed.) We requested bread...another 15 minutes later it came. During the time we waited for our food, two other tables left water and menus due to lack of service...one group went to Lola...ate...and walked past us before we even got served. This was our second (and last) disappointing visit to what is hyped as a great place for foodies."

The restaurant was busy, yet we were served our food and drinks, as well as given our checks, in a timely manner. Portions were smaller than I had anticipated, but every bite was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend Greenhouse Tavern!"

  • "Lunch special avocado/cucumber soup was spectacular, but lamb/goat cheese French bread pizza was unremarkable. The lamb was dry as a bone, and the red pepper sauce was undetectable. This is the second time I've been to Greenhouse, and unfortunately, I'm still not getting what all the buzz is about. I much prefer Noodlecat, frankly."

  • "A friend recommended this location to me so we were excited to go try it while in Cleveland. Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations though. They did have a gluten free menu, and were able to accommodate my other allergies, but the waitress didn't seem very knowledgeable on those menus and was not very enthusiastic about answering some questions. The food was good, but not outstanding, and the service wasn't great. We finished our food and then went to another location for drinks and some fun because we felt rushed out of this location. We would not go back."

  • "We have visited Greenhouse Tavern on several occasions, and have had a good dining experience each time. This time we brought along family, and they appreciated the food as much as we have in the past. My biggest suggestion is to try something that you would not otherwise be comfortable eating. I would not normally order a salmon crudo, but went out on a limb this trip, and it was a very flavorful dish that I thoroughly enjoyed. The fifth quarter is always interesting, and worth the risk. This trip's option was rather tame (duck sausage on toasted bread), but was extremely flavorful. The desserts continue to be innovative, and quite delicious. My chocolate soufflé was complex, using cola, rooibos tea, and strawberries."

  • "Possibly the best meal I have had in years! We did the tasting option which was 5 courses. The amuse Bouche was a delicious surprise. I highly recommend the Fred Flintstone short ribs. Simply amazing. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is busy, but fun. Thanks for a great meal."
