Would still recommend to anyone who wants delicious food. Just understand that you'll be paying a lot for it!"

  • "PURE DELICIOUSNESS - Fried grits, chicken wings, Texas toast, BBQ board - brisket, brisket, brisket - melts in your mouth! Awesome beans! Buttermilk pie - yummy! GREAT BEER FLIGHT. The best meal I have ever had in SA. Excellent, knowledgable and excited waitstaff. Wonderful ambience."

  • "I checked Open Table for the reviews and looked at the menu. Smoked beets app and pork shank entree. Sounded great. The menu had changed. Didn't have either. So, I asked for a Porter Ale - one of the four beers of the day. They were out. So, I asked for the lamb entree. They didn't have it. Got the beef "clod" - nothing special. One of us had the pork chop (too dry) and the other had the brisket ramen, which was good, but the brisket was "over" smoked, and it hurt the overall flavor of the soup. Service was slow - but the server, hostesses, everyone was delightful. No complaint there - the people were wonderful. I think the kitchen couldn't handle the demand thus causing the back-up."

  • "The location was great and the food was wonderful. I understand Bar-B-Q restaurants in San Antonio are plentiful, but The Granary had a few interesting twists. Could improve a little on the service and some of the side dishes still need a little work (the beans were very dry)."

  • "Started off with the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Grit Fritters. Both were delicious, but the Fried Green Tomatoes was the winner hands down. I had the biggest and most juicy porkchop ever, and my husband had the barbeque sampler platter of ribs. All of it was perfectly cooked and made from scratch. Will definitely go back again!"

  • "I love this place, I've gone for an afternoon beer, lunch and dinner and loved it every time. It's definitely not a candlelit kind of place but is still great for a date night or place for a group to eat. The lunch is a good deal and pretty much the same as dinner at a better price. The beer is fantastic (it is a brewery and restaurant) after all. They love to talk about their beer and food which is one of the reasons I keep going back. The atmosphere is great, they revamped an old house into the restaurant and the decor is awesome. Chill out on the balcony or share a table inside with some other diners, great either way!"

  • "I really wanted to like the Granary more than I did. Limited Menu (some of which they were out of @ 6:30 pm on a Tuesday); trying a tad too hard to be hip. Texas Toast spread was fabulous, most other foods just above average."

  • "I had heard a lot about the Granary, so decided to try it out Saturday. First of all, the place is small-they make the most of the room, and there are always people there or waiting. 2nd- make a reservation. Some guests expected to get seated there right away and they were a rude to the hostesses who were doing their job. You may have to wait a little when you have your reservation,but the wait is very much worth it. While waiting , I went to the bar,got the Strawberry Ale- they brew their own beer, several kinds. Was very good. Will also recommend the homemade root beer-not your typical can root beer and it was exceptional. Appetizer- have to suggest the toast with BBQ butter- best thing ever. The BBQ board- amazing tastes. Get it."

  • "I don't consider myself a connoisseur of BBQ, however, I have had a lot of it. Whether it be the barbecued chicken of Brooks in Oneonta, NY, the Lexington-based bbq of Little Richards in Winston-Salem, NC, or Lexington and Eastern style of Prissy Polly's in Kernersville, NC, Angelo's bbq in Fort Worth, TX, Texas Pride's bbq in Adkins, TX, the Salt Lick in Driftwood, TX, or Rudy's in multiple locales, the Granary's bbq takes the cake! While it is a little pricy, it is well worth it. The ambience of its earthy location on the site of the refurbished old Pearl Brewery no doubt plays a part (albeit small) in the delivery of a terrific dining experience, but the bbq is the centerpiece. If you try it, you won't be disappointed!"

  • "BUT, get there early on the weekends. My wife and I have gone 3 times and every time they had just ran our of the ribs and the pulled pork. So our next venture there will be before 6 pm. Other than this minor annoyance, everything we have tried thus far has been wonderful and tasty. The waiter Archie is pleasant and seems to enjoy his job. The owner even stopped by the table to check on us which is nice to see."

  • "There are really no complaints about this place, other than they really are not kid friendly. They have no kid menus so they are basically an adult place. They do microbrew their own beers and a couple of sodas. The tea was awesome. Our service was excellent! As soon as our food was ready, it was brought to us...it might not have been by our server but it was always by someone knowledgeable. It is a great example of teamwork! Everyone was super friendly and the restaurant was very accommodating to us. The server answered each and every question and Jose's recommendations were spot on. The bartender knew what he was doing too. I would definitely go back with just my husband!"

  • "My husband and I have been eager to sample this new neighborhood hot spot and finally got our chance this past weekend! It did not disappoint. We ordered the fried green tomatoes to start along with the Texas toast. The ranch ice cream that accompanies the tomatoes was unique and delicious. The special whipped butter served with the Texas toast was AMAZING. The brisket was some of the best I have sampled and the baked beans served with the sampler plate were just perfect. If you are looking for a BBQ house with Texas sized portions and buckets of sauce, this is not the place. I highly recommend ordering several items and sharing. This is a true foodie experience meant to be enjoyed slowly. Don't forget to sample their house brewed beer!"

  • "Cue and Brew is a gem. Not just for foodies, it radiates quirky charm, and character in its refurbished house location near the Pearl. Highly recommend it. The only negative is portion size. The menu says something about tasting sizes AND dishes for sharing. You can't do both. Portions for some dishes are sparing and almost stingy. Loved the Lamb two weeks ago BUT the plate only had two small slices on it. This week I loved the quail BUT was shocked at the four tiny quail drumsticks on my plate. They were elegant and delicious and had a delightful seat and flavor. But portions were fit for the super model on the night before the photo shoot, not a full grown hungry man. "

  • "This was the2nd time to eat at the Granary for dinner. The artichoke appetizer literally looked like 1/8 of an artichoke, same with the tofu dish and salad appetizer. The smaller portions force you to buy more food, which is already expensive. I shared the 16 oz steak and it was excellent (again, expensive but it was a ribeye so i expected that). I love that it's local food, that's the primary reason why I came, but for the portions size I won't come back for dinner. Great restaurant for a special occasion, but quantity could only improve. "

  • "The food at The Granary is good but overpriced. The beer options are really nice and wine list is adequate. We had the TexasToast appetizer...good but the dripping butter was too salty. Had the quail, barbeque of the day and the beef clod for our entrees. Small portions for $20+ entrees. I will say that the beer and pretzel ice cream was fantastic!"

  • "Too pretentious. Food was okay but overpriced. Waiter got my order wrong, brought out brisket and pulled pork when I ordered brisket and turkey. He acted like I was the one that got it wrong. Dining room was loud and seating on picnic tables and benches was not the most comfortable. "

  • "It's no question that you can find a lot of barbecue in Texas, however, the Granary is unique in that the food it offers is entirely farm-to-table. In addition, the on-site brewery, superb guest beers they offer, as well as a unique and refined wine list make this a spot for foodies who also appreciate quality drink. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and quick to catch onto what we like for good suggestions. Our food was tasty with noticeable details like handmade noodles and bread, which you don't find many places, especially barbecue establishments! We will be back again!"
