  • "Living in OMaha my whole life I figured i must try flatiron, so i did to celebrate my 3 year anniversary. Teh food was spectacular as was the service. The overall ambience is quiet and a bit secluded being just away from downtown. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in OMaha. Will be back"

  • "Food & service were impeccable. My wife's veal chop was sensational. My Sea Bass was delish except the cold asian slaw served beneath the Sea Bass totally detracted from the magnificence of the main ingredient. Would have been stellar if served with a rice or noodle accompaniment, allowing the Sea Bass to shine. The Chef, instead of trying to show off, should know that with such a fabulous piece of fish, less is much better!"

  • "The single biggest problem I have with this establishment is the menu is so good it is almost impossible to choose which items to order. The menu is original without being so exotic I have to struggle to find something I can eat. IT'S ALL GOOD! On this last visit I finally decided the only way to solve my dilemma is to visit until I've eaten everything from the menu if that's even possible."

  • "Always love dining at the Flatiron; it is a "cut above" other restaurants in the city. Menu has variety. Food is outstanding. Service is the best."

  • "We like that they always have new offerings when we return to The Flatiron Café. The service is always top notch and knowledgeable about how the food is prepared (my husband likes to ask questions!). On this visit, we had salmon and a chicken dish - both were excellent. I would have liked to see a sangria or other light summer wine cocktail on the menu, but the wine I had was a good alternative. Hubby chose a cheesecake dessert, which was good, and I enjoyed coffee with Bailey's. All in all, another great experience at The Flatiron!"

  • "I live in omaha and must say I don't know why I don't go to this restaurant more often. There is a lot of choices, the seafood is always great. Pleanty of appetizers that seem to change with seasons! Love it!"

  • "We've been to Flatiron a number of times. We thought the menu had grown tired, but saw a new menu recently and thought we'd give it a try again. It was excellent. They had a steak and lobster tail special that was outstanding. But everyone's food was great and the service was spot-on."

  • "We had a lovely evening at Flatiron Cafe on Saturday night. Our waitress was friendly and very informative. She had many suggestions for wine that we might enjoy. The menu offers many wonderful choices. Our salads were very good and my husband's Lobster Bisque was delicious. We all enjoyed our entrees and the wine pairings were just perfect. The atmosphere is so romantic and we enjoy the fact that it was not noisy even though there was a large group eating there when we were. A very enjoyable evening!!"

  • "My wife and I dined at the Flatiron Café for our anniversary. The food selection was great, and prepared to perfection. Our waitress was amazing. She was very personable and friendly. Maybe it was the stiff drinks, but I sought out the manager after dinner to let her know how great of a job our waitress had done. We will absolutely go back to the Flatiron Café."

  • "We've eaten here many times and always enjoyed the whole experience. But this time was over the top. Partially because we were celebrating an award one of our group had just been told he was getting. But our server really got into our celebration and made it truly memorable. It was a very special occasion and will remain one of our top dining experiences for years to come. Bravo to all!"

  • "We had a lovely meal before attending Wicked. Excellent service and the food was elegant and delicious. A bit surprised they didn't tell us that the kale salad would be an extra charge. "

  • "I specifically ask for the end table in my reservation. I was very upset when I arrived and found that the table was already occupied. My wife and I where taking our Granddaughter out for a very special evening and I never even received a note to let me know that the table was not available. I don't think very much of a restaurant that does not honor a request of a quest. I will not be back unless you make restitution for this error. We told our Granddaughter that we would have that table and when we did not get it. it ruined what should have been a GREAT evening. Thanks a lot for not honoring a quest request. I will be posting this same thing to my face book and restaurant reviews. Very disappointed, "

  • "We made reservations here to celebrate my daughter's college graduation--made the reservation SEVERAL weeks in advance, through OpenTable. Two days before our meal, I received a call stating that our requested time was unavailable because the manager "FORGOT" to block out that time, and had already given that table away to theater-goers, so could I please change my plans? Now the food was excellent, and the service was very good, but I would caution you to DOUBLE-CHECK your OpenTable reservation by making a phone call to confirm--although every other restaurant that I have booked through this website has never had a problem."

  • "My wife, daughter, sister, and two friends celebrated our fortieth wedding anniversary at the Flatiron Restaurant. It is pricey but worth every penny. We had great food and great wine, and the service was outstanding. We will eat there again."

  • "The best part of our experience at the Flatiron was the waiter. We were unsure of our wine selection, and he was happy to bring us 4 different options to try before we made a decision. The wine we did end up with was GREAT, and we had several glasses. The food was good, and we enjoyed having options to try not normally offered at other restaurants. We also had dessert, also good - my friend had the Lithuanian Torte, which was dry, and she wished she had tried a different option. "

  • "I had the Chilean sea bass, and it was simply the best dinner I had ever eaten, anywhere. The atmosphere was great, and it was a great beginning to a night on the town!"

  • "The Flat Iron offers a top notch gourmet menu and an elegant atmosphere yet still manages to make you feel like a member of the family. My wife and I eat their prior to attending shows at the Orpheum theater (located 1 block away). Despite being on the fringes of the Old Market, there is never a problem finding parking. The food is tops in the Omaha area. We have been there a dozen times and are more impressed with each visit. Be sure to make reservations!"

  • "The food - outstanding. The atmosphere - awesome. Natasha, our favorite waitress - INCREDIBLE and a big part of the reason we LOVE the Flatiron. We had a bad experience here many years ago and avoided returning for a long time. Some friends encouraged us to try it again and now it's one of our favorites. Natasha is a big reason we love it. She is the best EVAH!"

  • "Flat Iron, Omaha- What a great find!! the menu selections were great! The special for our evening was Swordfish and it was outstanding! We used open table for our reservations and everything went exactly as planned. We ordered appetizers and wine as well as the entree' and each was fantastic."

  • "In Omaha for the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting. In-Laws recommended Flatiron. Turns out to be as good as any restaurant we have in the Chicago area. Five Stars worth at least for the remarkable beef and sea food preparations but deserves more when you count the warm, attentive service of the family members who own and serve there. Gorgonzola mushroom sauce makes the prime rib explode with flavor. "

  • "Each time we dine at the Flatiron, my husband and I say it was the best meal we ever had there.....they consistently deliver interesting, innovative dishes that continue to please! Amazing meal pre-opera! A gem!"

  • "Updated menu, new waitress, time constrained. Sounds like possible problems? Not at the Flatiron. As always, the food was great, the new waitress was absolutely terrific, we had time for a great dessert, and all was well. As we are long time patrons there, we expect everything to be near perfect. It was. Other wait staff stopped by out table with greetings. The owner checked on us. Her trout and my sea bass were most tasty."

  • "There is a reason the Flatiron has been an Omaha favorite for years. It never disappoints. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly & engaging hostess, knowledgeable staff ( for both food and wine), efficient service and of course, great food! A most memorable birthday evening! "

  • "After faltering in its quality after Jennifer Coco left, the Flatiron has found its way. The quality of the food was again excellent and the service quite good. "

  • "This is my favorite restaurant in downtown Omaha. But this last visit, I was mildly disappointed. Mostly in the Ribeye steak - it was the toughest I've ever had. This ribeye was more chewy than a sirloin - my jaw actually got tired and I didn't finish it. It had very little marbling and still had grissle on the end. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) with a nice sear on the outside and warm red center, not too seasoned. So, it wasn't the person cooking the meat - it was the cut of meat, itself. Other than the steak:Latkas & asparagus were good, appetizer platter wonderful (although rather expensive - $60!). I spent $80 not including tip for dinner. Was it worth it? In this case, no - because of the steak. A+ for service, though."

  • "Cindy and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at the Flatiron as we have for roughly the last 10 years. As always, everything was fantastic! Mike, our server, was jocular and attentive without being obtrusive. The food is always top-notch. We started with the Acorn Squash Pierogi in a Cider Broth garnished with Apples baked in White Wine. It was a delight of wonderfully complementary flavors. For entrees, I had the poached lobster, and Cindy had the Rib Eye Steak with Maytag Blue Cheese butter. The lobster was terrific, the Rib Eye was off the charts good! If you are looking for romance and solitude, ask for the front table in the "V" of the restaurant. It is our favorite, and you feel as if you are the only people in the restaurant."

  • "Great place for a quality meal. Business casual. Wonderful service. Nice variety Consistently great food. Love the old building where it is located. Nice place to take out of town guests because not another boring chain! I usually get seafood/fish and my husband always gets the "tornados" steak dish which is the juiciest medallions of high quality steak with a delectable wine sauce. Better than Prime and prices are reasonable given the quality setting, service, and overall dining experience. Our favorite place. "
