It was the perfect venue for my 25th anniversary celebration.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent reviewThe Flatiron Café is one of Omaha's most wonderful gems. Fabulous food and service.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot for a Special DinnerGreat food, dining room is a cool view to downtown with all the glass windows. Went to celebrate my boyfriend's new job - he got the special of filet and lobster tail and loved it. I had the duck which was also very good. We enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine and had a very nice dinner. Great neighborhood atmosphere but still very special.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a first choice forAlways a first choice for us when we are going to a show at the Orpheum. Impeccable service, delicious food and wine. The Jamrozys always make us feel special.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic anniversary dinner! What a special evening! Steve, the co-owner, greeted us as we entered and made sure that the flowers I had delivered to the restaurant were on our table prior to our arrival. The waitstaff were outstanding...they were prompt, friendly, and attentive to our needs, without being overly-intrusive. I had the grilled tenderloin of beef (medium-rare) and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. My wife's veal rack chop was equally superb. After dinner the waitress brought us a delicious chocolate mousse and two spoons, free of charge. I highly recommend Flatiron Cafe for special occasions and for any time you want to be pampered while enjoying an incredible meal.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and Service are special , but.We wanted a romantic restaurant for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner. We've been to the Flatiron about a dozen times in the last 10 years and have always loved everything about our experience The menu was dynamic as always and the service was even better. I'd certainly recommend the Flatiron again..... But we do have one complaint. We made our dinner reservation through OpenTable 3 weeks before the dinner. At that time there were many open time slots for two. Open arriving exactly on time at 7:30pm we were warmly greeted and then sat at the very last table in the restaurant right by the door. The food/service made up for the table - but I would have wished for a better ambiance with a 3 week lead time.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu is quite interesting,The menu is quite interesting, the setting is attractive and service is great. However the kitchen was only good on the Saturday evening we visited. For example, my dinner companion ordered filet mignon cooked medium rare. What arrived was more medium than rare and quite dry. Luckily the bearnaise sauce compensated for the dryness. I ordered the trout, which was also cooked dry. It also came with gnocchi, which were tasty but unusually filling for some reason. A third companion ordered the duck with honey glaze, which truly was excellent. Also, the small dinner salads that come with dinners were excellent. Dessert was excellent and the wine list is quite good.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food; excellentExcellent food; excellent service. Vegetarian option was terrific as were the seafood and steak options enjoyed by dining companions.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother wonderful meal atAnother wonderful meal at the Flatiron! We love this place, especially right before a show at the Orpheum. Food is great--I especially liked the squash pierogis on the first course--and the service was impeccable as always. Steve, Kathleen and their family are exceptional hosts. We will definitely be back!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAn "Upper end" restaurantAn "Upper end" restaurant for our budget, but certainly not over priced. The food was an excellent treat! Well prepared, VERY friendly staff and atmosphere. Perfect for our date night on the town!!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGood, but as great as pastGood, but as great as past meals. Lobster was a bit TOO rubbery(hard to get that just right), trout nicely done with good side veggies. Wine was a bit amiss. Steve and Kathleen were as vivacious as ever, however.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful experience to celebrateDelightful experience to celebrate a special birthday. The food, service and atmosphere were exceptional!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to dine beforeGreat place to dine before going to the Orpheum. Food was excellent.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe classy yet comfortableThe classy yet comfortable atmosphere, along with great food and service, makes The Flatiron Cafe our favorite restaurant in downtown Omaha. The unusual design of the building makes it feel like you are in a quaint restaurant in Paris. Crisp white table cloths, soft lightening and great jazz music playing in the background makes for a pleasurable and memorable experience no matter the event. The food is always delicious and there is something for everyone; whether it's a tender steak, a vegeterian plate (who knew veggies could be this good), seafood, or one of the chef's "specials" of the evening.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHad been some time since we'dHad been some time since we'd been there. The last time it was summer and the AC was so low we froze. We decided to go for our anniversary and the evening was perfect. It is back on our special list.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent meal. Just NorthExcellent meal. Just North of the Old Market with a nice ambiance. Reasonable prices for the quality of the meal, about $30 for an entree. Try the pulled pork dumplings for an appetizer, they are delightful.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first visit andThis was my first visit and it lived up to its reputation as a terffic Omaha restaurant. The atmosphere was wonderful. With floor to ceiling windows on all sides of the intimate dining room the views of downtown Omaha were beautifully framed, especially as nightfall started and the city lights illuminated the buildings. The food was perfect. My two out-of-town guests had the vegetarian entree and loved it. I had the ribeye (which was wonderful) but next time will try the vegetarian. We will be back!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to celebrate aGreat place to celebrate a special occasion. Although Steve Jamrozy, wasn't there that evening, his wife, Kathleen took over in making us feel welcome with the usual Jamrozy style. Wait staff was very attentive. Food was exceptional as usual. We have been to Flatiron Café on numerous special occasions or on theater evenings and have never been disappointed with any aspect of our evening and this evening was no exception.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI had not been here in manyI had not been here in many years, and the food has improved from "Good" to "Very Good" in my estimation. The seating is very snug, but it didn't bother me too much. The service was good, but the waiter (like so many these days) was too interested in being our friend rather than providing great service.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was amazing, ourThe food was amazing, our waiter was wonderful, the service was spectacular. I've been recommending this restaurant to EVERYONE!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
