  • "Great surprise in now hip downtown factory district. Surprised to see foodies of all ages--not only the young and hip but the sophisticated older food crowd. Great food, great bar and drinks and wine, nice waitstaff.. a great gem for all downtown activities."

  • "walking in, very excited. came with high recommendations. arrived 20 minutes prior to reservation hoping to catch a drink at the bar. we were told we would be seating closer to reservation time. when we checked in, hostess advised they were running 15 minutes behind schedule. proceeded to tell us that every 15 minutes until we were seated an hour after our reservation time. hostess was rude and couldn't provide an exact time to when we would be seated which was unacceptable on a busy saturday night. Manager was super nice due to delay and sent over an array of desserts. ultimately it could have gone a lot better should the hostess have been kinder and had some idea of what to say to us during this type of situation."

  • "Factory Kitchen is a gem. This was our first time visiting the restaurant and we were blown away. Started with the stuffed peppers which were delicious. Followed by some of their stuffed bread with mushrooms and a fantastic salad with goat cheese and dates. Dont miss the Prochutto, it's ridiculous. All if their pastas are made fresh on the premisus. We had the handkerchief pasta with pesto and another pasta that was stuffed with two meats, veal and pork. both were amazing. In addition to the great food the drinks were really good. We love this place!!!!"

  • "Just returned from Italy and it's as good as the best there! Great food!"

  • "Super hip, super cool, with really interesting Italian food, great wine list, smart service and fabulous people watching. Angelo Auriana has always been an ace chef and continues his run here. The handmade pastas are scrumptious. But be forewarned, restaurant is mega loud; conversation is futile."

  • "Went for the first time this week and already planning return visit. Be ready for a loud room, but the food is outstanding. Go. Soon."

  • "Our reservation was early and the noise level was excellent but as the time grew on until after 7PM the noise level became difficult. All customer noise not music."

  • "Love that the menu is ever changing but always fresh and tasty!"

  • "Wonderful food, great ambiance, I'm definitely coming back!"

  • "I was expecting a more industrial space and was surprised to find the ambience so warm (thanks to the lighting) and inviting. The restaurant was full and loud-ish, yet we were able to talk and hear comfortably at our table. Then came the food, and it was simply delicious (and this coming from someone who just spent a week eating in Tuscany): the focaccina calda di Recco with foraged chanterelles was out of this world; the mandilli seta, silken heaven; and the porchetta (which our friend ordered and I was initially less excited about) beautifully executed. Three of us (none dessert fans) shared the panna cotta, which is the best I've ever had. I can't wait to return to explore the rest of the menu."

  • "Our second visit. Every dish was amazing. Service a bit rushed and curt. Given prices that could be better. Even with reservation had to wait awhile for table. Just irritants to what was a great evening of food. Best food in downtown! Work on service and can be best in LA!"

  • "Our waiter was attentive but after having just received our wine and appetizers he brought our entrees. This made what we had hoped to be a pleasant leisurely meal into a rush so that our food didn't get cold. I expected a lot more from what I had read and heard about your restaurant"

  • "My guest raved over the homemade pappadelle. He's traveled and lived all over the world. So, that is high praise indeed. Great vibe in a great venue. Parking is a little weird. Service was a little slow. Overall, those things don't seriously erode the quality of the food, which is fabulous."

  • "My husband took me here for my 30th birthday celebration. Don't let the surrounding area fool you, this place is high class. We had heard nothing but rave reviews and it more than lived up to the hype. We asked our waiter for suggestions and ended up splitting the mozarella, proscuitto, pesto with butterfly pasta, and pork belly. All dishes I've had in some form or another elsewhere but all 4 were potentially the best I've ever had. Definitely pricey but worth every penny for a special night out."

  • "Went for our anniversary last week (on a Tuesday) and are looking forward to going back. The atmosphere was lively without being too loud even though the place was packed. The service was fine, but they seemed a bit frenzied - lots of moving parts. We bought our own wine ($20 corkage) and our server didn't come by to pour the wine after opening. The food....oh the food...fabulous! We started with the mussels and clams - very good. For dinner I got their signature handkerchief pasta which was melt in your mouth good. My husband got the veal sogu which had silver dollar sized pasta which was great for holding the sauce. All in all a wonderful evening - will definitely go back!"

  • "Delicious pizza variant. Pasta, and cannalonni--- but disappointing and chewy veal tenderloin."

  • "As always, The Factory Kitchen served excellent food by top quality staff. Although I have been there numerous times, it was my wife's first time...and it did not disappoint."

  • "Too much pork in too many of the dishes-but the pasta is among the best carb dish in the world- -The server was really attentive-an added bonus -a man arrived who bore a striking resemblance to the most important character in the New Testament and sat down a table away from ours-"

  • "Very authentic Italian food. Went for a special dinner with my Italian-born and bred husband who wanted to try it out for his birthday. He knew the chef and we assumed the food would be good and it was. Service also very good. Did not expect the concrete bunker-like ambiance. The noise level, even with the low ceiling and attempts at sound absorption panels did little to cut the noise level. I could tell that there was music being played, but the noise levelover-powered it. I'm all for a bustling restaurant experience, but I'd like to have a conversation without yelling across the table to make myself understood. Our 24 year old daughter says it's a generational thing. As good as the food was, I wouldn't go back."

  • "Delicious. Great food, great friendly service. All staff worked as a team. The almond pesto pasta was as good as advertised. The steam clams and mussel were also perfectly cooked and delicious. Will go back for more."

  • "I was super disappointed by my dinner. It was my first time at Factory Kitchen and it will be my last too. I had heard such great things about this new place, but all our dishes were flavorless and way overpriced. We got a soft shell crab special that was $34 and it was just 1 crab sauteed cut in 5 pieces w/ 4 roasted cherry tomatoes and 2 sea greens (like green beans). Yeap, that was it. It was insulting! Not to mention flavorless. We ordered the Pancotto, Prosciutto, Casonzei & Soft Shell Crab special The staff was attentive, but not engaging. The noise level was quite loud. Perhaps if we had been drinking more we too would thought the food was at least good. -"

  • "This place has delicious food: clams, mandilli, john dory were excellent. But as my dining companion noted, the noise level blunted the eating experience. "Energetic" doesn't nearly describe the decibel level. It was a competition between heavy metal bands, playing simultaneously, and you're in the front row. There should be a warning sign at the front door, or the restaurant should pass out ear buds. Oh, there is an oasis of calm: the bathrooms. Definitely not the place for a cozy tete-a-tete or conversation at civilized levels. But, again, great food and service."

  • "Great little restaurant in the industrial end of the arts district in DTLA. The stuffed pepper appetizer is not to be missed. I dream about it. Have the famous pesto pasta and the mushroom flatbread. Writing this is making me hungry."

  • "The "silk handkerchief" pasta was as heavenly on my second visit as it was on my first, and the burrata / prosciutto appetizer was divine. Overall, the food at Factory Kitchen is a religious experience! Pray for a reservation!"

  • "A lot of love goes into the creation and preparation of the food at The Factory Kitchen. From cocktails to dessert and everything in between, the dining experience is sublime. Nice atmosphere. Excellent service"

  • "I enjoyed some of the best pasta I've ever eaten, including my my meals in Italy. The restaurant is a bit crowded, deservedly so. The food and service are outstanding!!"

  • "We walked in after a nice, quiet car ride and our ears were completely bombarded with sound when we walked in. We had a 9:00 reservation (our choices one week prior were 5:30 or 9 pm). The wait was pretty long, until about 9:35. It was a Saturday night and the place was bustling. Despite all of this, the incredible food made it worth the wait and, once seated, the sound issue wasn't quite as bad. The focaccia di Recco is out of this world and the mandilli (handkerchief pasta) is something that everyone should try at least once. I would probably not go back on a Saturday night (if you do, just be ready to wait) but I will definitely return on a weeknight!"

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed The Factory Kitchen! It was our first time there and we will DEFINITELY be returning. The food was outstanding, the wait staff was knowledgeable and thoughtful, and the overall experience was wonderful. There is nothing negative to say about The Factory Kitchen!"

  • "Second time at Factory Kitchen and it did not disappoint. Homemade pastas are delicate and delicious. Sage dough with proscuitto and cheese-fantastic. The three of us shared a number of different dishes and enjoyed them all. We were seated upon arrival and served right away. It was a little loud in the restaurant (Thursday night at 7:30 and it was packed). Will definitely go back."

  • "Clams were unchewable....returned them. Ordered pasta instead and it was drowning in oil. Small portion so I picked the pasta from the top of the dish. I was hungry when I left the restuarant and the check was up there."

  • "Service was good. Very attentive. Food was quite good-it is the type of place I would go to for "elegant " pastas, seafood. The desserts were run of the mill-not up to the level of the entrees."

  • "If you have guest from out of town; you are craving pasta (classic); or you want a romantic evening for two, this is the place. The Chickpea and Baby Leek Frittura was really good. If you are not too keen in fried foods I would not recommend it. As a good-old-boy from the South...really good. The Pizzata was baked to perfection with just the right amount of char. The pasta dishes rival the best in LA. Delicioso! You can't go wrong with any of them. On the night I was there, the bartenders proved themselves to be quite the mixologists. One of the best Dirty Martini's I've had in LA. This place you have to try at least once and guaranteed you'll be back."

  • " First the noise, if this was a real factory Cal-OSHA would make everyone wear ear protectors. It's actually worse than Bottega Louie and that's saying something. 8:00pm reservation finally saw food at 8:50 (after complaint to manager earned a free appetizer). But the worst thing is that having gone online to peruse the menu beforehand and decided on some dishes we'd really like to try - they'd run out of them - 2 entrées out the 6 on the menu. At 8:0Opm (well 9:00) on a Sat eve, that's bad management. The food's fine, very hearty Italian, big portions if you like that kind of thing, the wine was good and the sommelière helpful (if you could hear what she was saying).but all in an atmosphere that's frankly unpleasant."
