Diner Reviews
  • "The Dunraven Inn is one of our FAVORITE places to celebrate and go out for a relaxing dinner. It's our "go to" place! The food is incredible, service is always perfect and the ambiance is wonderful! The lobster here is to die for....better than a lot of seafood I've had at any coastline restaurant! The stuffed filet mignon is another all time fave! Highly recommend to anyone!!"

  • "Okay, I'm a Jersey girl and am spoiled when it comes to Italian food. I've lived in Colorado for 16 years and NEVER tasted Italian food as good as the Dunraven Inn's. It's worth the trip from anywhere, but it's also in beautiful Estes Park, home of Rocky Mountain National Park, so you can't lose! If you love Italian food, you gotta go. Mamma will be so proud! PS The ambiance is sweet and great for a romantic evening, especially if you like the Mona Lisa ..."

  • "When we asked the locals for a good Italian restaurant, The Dunraven Inn was the first restaurant recommended by everyone. We were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent. We made a reservation for 5 PM as we prefer an early dinner and try to avoid peak hours. This is definitely a place to dine when you visit Estes Park."

  • "We almost couldn't find it because the restaurant sits on a little wedge on the side of the road. Once you get inside and into the dining room, it has a modern-lodgey feel and the staff is very friendly. We sat next to the fireplace, which is my favorite place in any restaurant. The food was great and the bill was much lower than I expected it to be. We split out our meal, which had an additional $5 fee, but that included two salads, which made it worth it. The serving sizes were large, so I was very glad we did split it. This was a great find and we will go back next time we're in Estes Park."

  • "We were headed to Estes Park for the weekend and looking for a dining experience above the pizza/burger lore that seems to be common Estes eatery. We were so pleased with the food and service at the Dunraven Inn. Beyond our expectations. We will definitely eat there again on our next visit. Food was excellent, portions were plentiful and service was very friendly and professional. Nice wine list too!"

  • "We dine at the Dunraven frequently. The food is outstanding and we like to go during the week as they are not quite as busy and the noise level is less and more romantic."

  • "Went there for an Anniversary dinner with my wife. The food was excellent, and the staff was easily the friendliest and most courteous I've ever experienced in Colorado. We don't get up to the Estes Park area much, but when we do, we will certainly be coming back to the Dunraven!"

  • "We chose to celebrate my husband's birthday here after reading favorable reviews online. However, the food was just ok. He had steak and scampi. The shrimp were way over cooked and a film had formed on the garlic butter it was swimming in. His steak was seasoned, but it looked rather unappetizing next to the cafeteria-like ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes. I splurged in the garlic stuffed filet and had to add a tin of salt and pepper since it wasn't seasoned at all. It was stuffed with whole, raw garlic that had no way of releasing actual flavor into the steak. The risotto that it was served with was pretty good. My husband also had a decent soup while my salad was way over dressed."

  • "Four of us dined at the Dunraven along with a very lively crowd! Three of us had the identical dinner while the fourth in our party had a different dish. Everyone was served at the same time, dishes were steaming hot and all were delighted with the selections. The steak was done to perfection along with the lobster-very delicious! Ravioli looked wonderful and was delicious also. There was an abundance of food left over, so take with containers were supplied to warm up on another day. When ordering wine, the waitress suggested a carafe which would ultimately save us money. The waitress was attentive without being bothersome. Perfect!"

  • "We have dined at the Dunraven several times over the years. The setting of this place is always warm and cozy. First time trying the Prime Rib for dinner there and was totally satisfied. I guess I can honestly say that everything I've had there is fantastic!"

  • "The food is consistently wonderful. Service is top notch...the ambience is a little tired and weary with the worn carpet and dirty money. The large dining room is nicer but cramped. Still a great meal when you focus on the food in front of you and the person beside you."

  • "We live in Denver and for both my husband and my birthdays and other special occasions we go to Estes and spend the night just so we can go to the Dunraven Inn for dinner. I have had steaks in many places in the US and I rate their's the best I have ever had. They have always been cooked to order and the service is friendly and efficient.. I recommend this place to everyone I know."

  • "Absolutely our favorite dinner place in the Estes Park area. A must for a nice dinner away from the Estes Park downtown bustle. It is definitely a local's favorite as well! Simply can't go wrong! Good food, good service, and a warm inviting atmosphere (as long as you do not have to sit by the front door). Reservations highly recommended as the place is always busy, for a reason! It is a short drive out of Estes Park but well worth the 5-10 minutes it takes to get there."

  • "The atmosphere and warmth of the Dunraven has only improved over the years. My wife and I had two of the best dinners that we have ever had. We were blessed to have Rene serve us. We had had her serve us before over the years and she is outstanding. She only enhances our dining experience at the Dunraven. The host who met us was also friendly and made us feel welcome. The combination of host, server and food made our experience at the Dunraven a very special dining time. Thank you."

  • "This is our favorite restaurant to eat at every time we come to Estes Park. We have tried almost all their dishes with our favorites being the lobster ziti, manicotti, spaghettic & meatballs (they're huge), veal parmigiana and their before dinner soups are always tasty. Highly recommend."

  • "It was fantastic. The food was great and we will come back again. The owner was on the floor and went from table to table to see that everything was done to your specifications. The wait staff was very attentive."

  • "The Dunraven Inn has a very nice selection of flavorful Italian menu items but on our 2nd visit we wanted to try their steaks. Turns out they were excellent. Great flavor and good quality cuts. The service was excellent from both the busers and the wait staff. Other than a large group of loud relatives having a boisterous reunion while being oblivious to the impact of their noise on the restaurant, the atmosphere was great. This restaurant will be a regular special dinner spot for us to enjoy in the future."

  • "We shared this restaurant with two of our friends so that we could celebrate 2014. We love this restaurant and have for many years. The new owners kept and also improved the ambiance while keeping most if not all the recipes. Finally hung our dollar bill during this trip and got a kick out of seeing our Governor's dollar bill that he signed over Christmas. Have to visit to understand."

  • "Up from Denver for our annual pilgrimage to Estes Park in celebration of the coming new year, my family and I decided Dunraven, a family favorite for years, would be in order. Once seated we were quickly greeted and had drinks in no time. Dinner started with a sauteed mushrooms appetizer that was superb in both taste and quality. Entrees arrived hot 10 minutes later including sausage and peppers, (2) pesto pastas, pasta with sausage and meatball and the raviolis. All dishes were enjoyed, however the pesto pasta was particularly incredible. Love this place as it never fails to exceed my expectations."

  • "We heard about the Dunraven from a local in Estes Park. It was awesome. Our server Luke was great and the food was the best. We had the Dunraven steak and the chicken parmigiana... both had great flavor. The food is priced great and this place provides a great experience. It was busy and packed, but you would have never known because the service was quick and top notch. I would definitely recommend if you are in Estes Park and looking for a special night out."

  • "This was our second visit; our first was in the spring and this was over the holidays. Food, wine, service and ambience were very good---marred only by the fact that the tables were jammed together so diners were elbow to elbow with diners at other tables, and the temperature inside was uncomfortably hot."

  • "We were nervous when the long time owner sold the restaurant and retired, and indeed the restaurant has changed its decor and made some modifications to the menu. But through the ownership transition and beyond, the restaurant has been faithful to the core menu that everyone loves, and the service has remained perfect. The food is just terrific. If you come to Estes Park, your restaurant journey starts and ends here. Among the five of us we had the shrimp bisque, the calamari, the tuna sashimi, salads (always fantastic), Ziti pasta, Tortolini, and the Filet Mignon stuffed with garlic. Everything was perfect. The only lament is that they no longer serve garlic bread with the salads. Bottom line, this is the best restaurant in Estes Park."

  • "Having dinner and team celebration at the Dunraven Inn was a great way to cap off our weekend. Greeting, food and overall service was excellent. But even more of note of what we consider great service, w the call we received after our online reservation. The call was to inform us that Dunraven Inn didn't have a liquor license until early December. We appreciated the heads up on this!"

  • "The ambience and decor in the Dunraven were tasteful and elegant without being haughty. Every bite of our meal, from the chicken tomato bisque and fresh-baked cheesy breadsticks to the scrumptious chicken parmesan and spaghetti, was flavorful and delicious. To top it all off, the servers were very knowledgeable and friendly. Very happy that we took a local's advice and enjoyed dinner at the Dunraven Inn!"

  • "Stopped at one of our favorites on a Friday night. Sure was lonesome in there! The food was at usual standards (although this restaurant, IMHO, struggles a bit with bread). Service was fine as well. Hope the storms and isolation don't leave a lasting mark on this gem."

  • "The food was fabulous. The prime rib was the best we have ever had. The service was incredible. The chocolate layer cake was to die for (we had one piece and everyone was able to enjoy some). Our server explained all of the specials in great detail and was very attentive. There were 8 of us and we all really enjoyed our dining experience. The Dunraven Inn is the best restaurant in Estes Park, in my opinion."
