    Parking is also available at the Fifth and Mission - Yerba Buena Garage; located at 833 Mission Street. The garage is accessible from Mission Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets, as well as from Minna Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets.

The Cavalier is an all-day London-inspired brasserie, located in the new Hotel Zetta.

This is the third property for restaurateurs Anna Weinberg, James Nicholas & Chef Jennifer Puccio; the team behind Marlowe and Park Tavern. The team has collaborated with award winning San Francisco designer Ken Fulk, who has revamped the interior in deep leather banquettes, polished brass, zinc and white marble, giving it a posh and sultry feel.   • "You never get a second chance to make a first impression. This rings true more so than ever in SF's premier restaurant scene. Our overall experience was wildly mediocre. That said, the drinks/bartender (Scotty) was great. Came here for bday dinner. Wait staff greeted us shortly after we were seated, never introducing himself as our waiter. He asked if we would like ice water or sparkling. After that, he disappeared for 25 minutes... I had to flag down the Maitre'D to ask where our waiter had gone. 5 minutes later, he returned, and made awkward remarks about how he "heard we were feeling neglected." Overall, food was good, not great. Bone marrow was great. Everything else was "meh." Cocktails were great. Bar service was great."

  • "Enjoyed a lovely and memorable evening at Cavalier. Such attentive, warm and friendly service made us feel at ease and welcome. The rib eye steak, brown sauce and chips was outstanding. Loved the commitment to quality such as Mill bread, Stumptown coffee and Samovar tea. Will return for more British specialties like Welsh rarebit."

So many gastro-pubs make a lackluster dent on elevating bar food, but The Cavalier does an exceptional job of modernizing traditional English and American fare without abandoning their roots. The atmosphere is spirited without needing to rely on interior cliches. It's well-thought out from food to drinks to service to style. It's easily become one of my go-to's for lunch with colleagues."

  • "Having just returned from London, we were curious about this restaurant's fare. We had the mushroom curry pie, fish and chips, Sunday roast chicken, and hamburger. We all thought the food was good. We had the Brussel sprout chips beforehand and they were outstanding. The restaurant has metal chairs that made a horrible screeching noise whenever someone pulled one out across the tile floor. (It reminded us of nails across a chalkboard.) I'm not sure any of would go back, but it was worth a go."

  • "When my dining partner recommended this restaurant, I'd only passed it and thought it stuffy and maybe pretentious. Boy, was I wrong. This is a hidden gem and a very nice surprise for me. Service, from the door to the table, was excellent and far from stuffy. In fact, Jonathan, our waiter, was warm, engaging, and quite knowledgeable about the menu. His suggestions were right on, particularly for the oysters and the size of the fish and chips. The food was fantastic and a gourmet's delight. While I live near here during my stay in SF, I will return again, and again."

  • "We had a lovely lunch at Le Cavalier and especially enjoyed the friendliness of the host and server. The heirloom tomato , avocado and burrata sandwich was one if the best sandwiches ever and the fries were fantastic! Located on Jessie, a small alley street just behind Nordstroms, it's a gem!"

I thought Cavalier did a good job of representing the traditional London dinner club concept. Only the Steak Tartare was a disappointment. The Rarebit Soufflé and meat pies were wonderful."

The two of us said we would be sharing everything and I was impressed that they split the meals for us on separate plates. We sat at the bar before our table was ready, and the drinks were expertly made too. Best cocktails I've had in town."

  • "We waited 20+ for coffee; the server brought the appetizer (scones) after we had finished our main courses; we waited an absurd amount of time for our dishes to come out; they messed up an order (after being explicitly told about an allergy, they bring the dish out with an allergen on the plate); they had run out of one of the drinks, and only told us 20+ after; wait staff was very unprofessional and seldom came to check on us. Overall, terrible experience, and the decent food did not make up for the awful service. We will not return"

  • "The Cavalier had wonderful service and ambience. We went for our 10 year wedding anniversary - and they greeted us with a champagne cocktail which started our night off right! The food was delicious but so rich - I couldn't even eat dessert buy my husband would recommend the Sticky Toffee pudding with lime ice cream. I would definitely go back soon for a special occasion!"

  • "I've enjoyed a few visits to The Cavalier now and have really enjoyed myself. The ambiance is just what you'd expect from an upscale British Pub - and the best part is their food is actually quite good! I've only been in for brunch but I look forward to coming back in the evening if it's anything like their brunch menu. You can't beat their location downtown as they're tucked away in an alley right behind Nordstrom. My only complaint is the service; our server was unapologetically slow, inattentive and completely uninterested in whether or not we were content. Perhaps she was slammed and doing the best she could - whatever it was, here's to hoping they work out the level of service soon! Hope to come back soon for dinner."

  • "This was my 2nd visit: Both for business events; One with a group and the 2nd for an interview candidate. It was very good both times. Service is attentive and timely. The ambience and decor is very nice. You almost forget your next to an ugly alley until you spot a strange passer by. Food is good but not what you can have every day. The black cod is good. Of course you cannot resist the slice of bacon that comes with it. I sampled the Fish and chips and they are ok."

Cavalier is the pinnacle for us because the ambiance is great, it's young and vibrant, the food is fabulous and the service is perfection. Ryan is our favorite server and I always want to go back just to see him - but the overall staff is on their game. LOVE this place!"

  • "I was in San Fran for a few days with my kids and we decided to try this place based on the fact that their menu is inspired by traditional Irish/English dishes. The food was amazing. My son had the rib eye which was absolutely perfect, and my daughter had the fish and chips which were also fantastic. We're not usually big dessert people, but the Sticky Toffee Pudding was, in and of itself, a reason to give this place 5 stars. The service was excellent. Friendly and attentive, but not overbearing or stuffy. This was a perfect experience from start to finish."

Extremely noisey - just like london restaurants, fine with noise level eccept had to repeat everything twice for the waitet - though some of that was probably my accent. Food was good, had the chicken and the fish n chips. Was a little disappointed my Pimms cup didn't have chunks of fruit and cucumber in it - as is custom in the UK."

  • "It was a lovely, sunny, June Sunday morning in San Francisco and "The Cavalier" ended up providing the cherry-on-the-cake. Admittedly, there weren't too many diners that morning but that ended up being perfect for me and my beautiful date. I wanted to impress her and The Cavalier really helped me do that. We took our time to order as we wanted to catch up and there was no pressure to order. All very European! She commented that the choice of teas offered on the menu was very selective and in very good taste! She ordered a Cappuccino and described it as "perfect." The food was tremendous. I ordered "The English" and my date the "Breakfast Sandwich." Delicious and all very tasteful! We'll definitely be back. Many thanks:-)"
