  • Parking Details: Valet parking is available through Hotel Zetta; located at 55 Fifth Street on the corner of Jessie Street; adjacent to The Cavalier. Parking is offered at $20 for the first two hours, and $10 for each additional hour.

    Parking is also available at the Fifth and Mission - Yerba Buena Garage; located at 833 Mission Street. The garage is accessible from Mission Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets, as well as from Minna Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets.

The Cavalier is an all-day London-inspired brasserie, located in the new Hotel Zetta.

This is the third property for restaurateurs Anna Weinberg, James Nicholas & Chef Jennifer Puccio; the team behind Marlowe and Park Tavern. The team has collaborated with award winning San Francisco designer Ken Fulk, who has revamped the interior in deep leather banquettes, polished brass, zinc and white marble, giving it a posh and sultry feel.   • "Cavalier is a wonderful find. My boyfriend and I eat out frequently, at lot of the hot spots and many of the unknowns. Cavalier is the pinnacle for us because the ambiance is great, it's young and vibrant, the food is fabulous and the service is perfection. Ryan is our favorite server and I always want to go back just to see him - but the overall staff is on their game. LOVE this place!"

  • "I was in San Fran for a few days with my kids and we decided to try this place based on the fact that their menu is inspired by traditional Irish/English dishes. The food was amazing. My son had the rib eye which was absolutely perfect, and my daughter had the fish and chips which were also fantastic. We're not usually big dessert people, but the Sticky Toffee Pudding was, in and of itself, a reason to give this place 5 stars. The service was excellent. Friendly and attentive, but not overbearing or stuffy. This was a perfect experience from start to finish."

Extremely noisey - just like london restaurants, fine with noise level eccept had to repeat everything twice for the waitet - though some of that was probably my accent. Food was good, had the chicken and the fish n chips. Was a little disappointed my Pimms cup didn't have chunks of fruit and cucumber in it - as is custom in the UK."

  • "It was a lovely, sunny, June Sunday morning in San Francisco and "The Cavalier" ended up providing the cherry-on-the-cake. Admittedly, there weren't too many diners that morning but that ended up being perfect for me and my beautiful date. I wanted to impress her and The Cavalier really helped me do that. We took our time to order as we wanted to catch up and there was no pressure to order. All very European! She commented that the choice of teas offered on the menu was very selective and in very good taste! She ordered a Cappuccino and described it as "perfect." The food was tremendous. I ordered "The English" and my date the "Breakfast Sandwich." Delicious and all very tasteful! We'll definitely be back. Many thanks:-)"

  • "I was honestly disappointed with The Cavalier. The décor tries too hard and falls short. I felt as if I were in a stage set. The front staff was friendly and accommodating but our waiter was for lack of a better word, fake, like the décor. The food was only fair and definitely over priced. I had had the Brussel Sprout chips at Park Tavern and ordered again here but they could not sustain their magic at The Cavalier. All in all, it may work for the lunchtime crowd but not for a visitor."

  • "There was a lot of noise from the bar, and there was a large group sitting near us who were making an awful racket. We went on a Friday evening, which is in hindsight is probably the noisiest time. The restaurant staff did ask the large group to quiet down, which they did."

  • "I'm a big fan of Park Tavern, so I was excited to finally get to Cavalier. But unfortunately, I just don't think it works. The British theme is good enough, but not compelling. The food is *way* over salted, from the brussel sprout chips (which I love at Park Tavern) to the Sunday Chicken. The waiter had an attitude...he was clearly our manager, in his mind. Noise level was too high, but to be fair, there was a drunken table of 12 right near us. At the end of the evening, I had mixed feelings when the manager "invited" us for a drink at Maryanne's the "secret" room in the back. It's a lovely overflow room, and I appreciated the drink, but...he still kicked us out of our dinner table, after less than a 2-hour seating. Won't be back. Too bad."

The fish & chips were the "best" and included a small serving of sweet peas and mint which was perfect. The pear crumble dessert completed our meal with just the right amount of sweetness.   • "Great meal! Cavalier salad delicious, light, flavorful, and healthy. Brussels sprout chips fantastic. Pan-seared black cod out of this world and melts in your mouth. Pride Merlot wonderful. Service incredible. Noise factor: TERRIBLE! And we weren't even in the bar area which is deafening. I don't think anything can be done about it, but it did make having a conversation with one other person really challenging and sometimes painful. But would that keep us from going back? No, we loved it. Maybe brunch or lunch would be better."

  • "I have eaten at The Cavalier 3 or 4 times and it is always delicious. They make a great Gin 'n Tonic, fish and chips are amazing as is the wild mushroom pie. The waiter was not happy with the way our starter looked so he brought us another one and didn't charge us for either one. I look forward to going back. "

  • "The chicken is very flavorful and moist, the steak with the bone marrow jus is probably the best in the city and the triple cooked french fries are out of this world. The Cavalier salad is bright and tangy with an addictive truffle vinaigrette. And you always need to ger the scotch egg! Amazing food and top notch service. "

  • "I had the burger and fries, with a side of horseradish mashed potatos. The burger was very very good, with the tomato chutney being a great compliment and the bun was nice too. The fries were some of my favorite fries in the city--crisp without being overdone, and very well seasoned. The horseradish mashed potatos were very good too. I was with a group that shared the brussels sprouts chips and crab/shrimp dip to start. The crab/shrimp dip was fine--it was a little too spicy for me, otherwise I probably would have liked it better. The brussels sprouts chips were very good."
