First time here and really enjoyed the location, food and wine available! Loved the bone marrow and duck beet salad...only draw back were the hovering bussers, too much time spent at our table which interrupted our conversation too many times.

The service was very slow, although the waitress seemed to be rushing us at first. Boy did that change. At the end of the meal I had to ask two people for cream for coffee, and by the time it arrived coffee was cold. I hope slow service was due to a short staffed evening, because otherwise the dinner was great

Stuck in an alley between Nordstrom's and Bloomingdale's, it's such a treat - it feels just like a British pub. The Fish & Chips were fantastic - triple fried fries that were a delight. Great mushroom pie, nice beer choices (pricey wine... I have a hard time paying $18 for a glass of wine when the bottle retails for $35...)

Fish & Chips were the best I have ever eaten. Beef dripping chips were terrific. My partner had a "Marlowe" burger which he thought was okay. That said, dinner was $185.00 for 2 with a bottle of wine. One should ask, "is the quality of food and service worth the price?" Answer: Yes!

Comfortable amount of foods (not too large, not too small), friendly services are always nice. Although the space is soooo loud. You need to shout to the companion who sit in front of you. Mushroom Pie was a bit too salty. Probably I am getting too old to be accommodated.

Cavalier is part of our hotel (The Zetta) and we arrived late after a long journey from the UK. The food here was exceptional. We had the lamb and the pork loin, both were amazing. The sauces that come with those two dishes and the beef dripping chips, are also brilliant. It's expensive for the type of food they serve but with great taste and good portions, you don't feel too ripped off. Overall, a very good restaurant.

One of my top three go to restaurants in the city. I've recommended Cavalier, Marlowe and Park Tavern to everyone I know and they are always thrilled with the food and service! I always have the crispy brussel sprouts and this time for my friends who'd never been, we had the lamp scrumpets (OMG) and beet salad (wasn't quite what I expected). Then we had the mushroom pie which was delicious, the chicken cooked to perfection and beef chips (to die for)! Because what we were having was a bit heavy, the waiter recommended the tomato salad and he was right - perfectly complemented and lightened up the meal.

Some of the best service we've received. Good cocktails. Food was excellent. Beautiful setting. We picked this since it was a few blocks from the theater and it had good reviews on Yelp, and a few not so good ones. I really wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. Top notch.

Every person who assisted with our meal - bus boys, people pouring water, clearing the table, etc were all fantastic and really really friendly. Our server was nice but reserved, and the hostess was not very great. The food was all good, I had the tenderloin and my husband had the Marlowe burger. We started with a scotch duck egg which was good but weirdly sweet but that's just my opinion. Also tried the deviled crab with bay shrimp, which was again good but not great. We were given an excellent recommendation on dessert from a gal who filled up our water, the peach crumble - awesome - just the right amount of sweet and crunchy. We liked our meal, but other than dessert nothing really stood out in our minds.

Another very fine venue from the Marlowe folks. To me, the most outstanding product is the cocktails . The food was tasty and competently prepared. Great burger and very good apps. Pork loin good. Someone needs an espresso lesson . The young woman at the bar was great. Our server at the table was strangely disengaged but otherwise I thought that the hospitality was outstanding. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience at The Cavalier. The hostess was warm, sparkly, and genuinely welcoming, while our waiter was cheerful, energetic and helpful in recommending a new cocktail to try. We declared that the Fish and Chips might be the best we've ever eaten and we loved the minty pea salad. All very fresh tasting, not a bit greasy. We dined early and by 6:30 on a weeknight both bar and restaurant were lively and packed. Obviously popular.

I chose The Cavalier primarily because of BARTaccessibility. We decided to start with appetizers and picked the scotch egg and the crabmeat and Bay shrimp dishes. Simply out of this world good and worth the trip all by themselves. For dinner we had: welsh rarebit souffle, the Marlowe burger, Sunday chicken, and the leg of Californis lamb and - on the recommendation of our waiter David - we selected the beef dripping chips. Since the lamb came with virtually nothing else, we ordered the horseradish mashed pitatoes. We did share these plates so we all tasted each of the dishes. The verdict: run, don't walk for the beef dripping chips, the scotch egg and the crabmeat. The main dishes - not so much. The peach crumble was outstanding.

When we arrived, our table was ready. The waiters descended on us and pressured us to make a drink choice right away. We felt like we were being "hustled" even though it was a Sunday night and the restaurant wasn't full. We asked for more time to make menu choices, which they gave. Once we had ordered dinner, it took about 45 minutes to arrive. They brought one wrong order to our table, and that guest had to wait for her food. I have been here before and not had such uneven service. Not sure what was going on.

Cavalier Restaurant and the Hotel Zetta are located in what was once the Milano Hotel and Grill. The restaurant has been redecorated in dark red and black; still long and narrow with big windows. Great food! I had a wonderful house salad, slices of leg of lamb, steamed rhubarb/strawberry pudding, the Bodkin sauvignon blanc, and an espresso. All very reasonably priced for nicely creative items. Great service.

Unique theme; wonderful decor; and limited but interesting menu but it falls far short of Marlowe and Park Tavern. Have been for both lunch and dinner. Lunch hamburger=great and dinner pork tender= perfect. However noise deafening, hostess dismissive, service confused by large private party. No difference between bar and dining accommodations, even for only 2 the table size in dining area for dining makes you feel you are juggling plates on AGT. In fairness to them, if they could improve the reception and coordinate service a bit it is a good bar ( but not great bar scene) but it is not a restaurant designed for a evening meal. Good bar scene but bag it for dinner.

We went to the restaurant on a Sunday evening. Our reservation was for 7. The restaurant wasn't very busy at that time. There where 4 in our party. We had appetizers, our meals & dessert. Everything was very good. You must have the French fries. They are fried in beef fat & served with a demi glaze to dip into. These were the best fries I have ever had. We ordered the black cod, pork tenderloin (x2) & ribeye steak for our dinners. They were all great as well. Ask to have your picture taken with the fox.

I love everything about this restaurant. I've been several times and it just gets better and better. The cavalier salad is the best salad I've had in the city. I can't get enough. I also love the fish and chips. It's such a simple dish that usually doesn't stand out, but theirs is different. It's light and fluffy and extremely flavorful. I was quite impressed with the pub menu and food at The Cavalier. Our waiter was excellent and not only steered us through the menu, but also shared history and stories about the restaurant. The food had a fun twist on the typical pub fare and was very good. The only issue was that it was extremely noisy - above the average bar/restaurant. Not good for intimate dining, but great for small groups that want to shout and have a fun time!

I was introduced to The Cavalier by a friend who grew up in the UK. While (as an animal lover & vegetarian) I could definitely do without the animal heads on the wall, I otherwise like this place for the delicious brunch and the friendly service. Hot, satisfying coffee. Scrumptious earl grey scones. The Cavalier kitchen is great about adjusting menu items to your individual liking. For example: I get the Breakfast Sandwich with the eggs scrambled instead of fried, no bread, no bacon. Extra cress. A side of the savory roasted tomatoes. It's a unique and wonderful meal. There's something cheerful about the sun pouring in the windows, which feature red geranium planter boxes. The staff is warm and hospitable (especially Eric & Melissa).

Low-key hangout, great for a meal with friends. Tasty baked oysters, though nothing that can beat raw ones. Farro and roasted beet appetizer a generous serving for three, a delectable mix of crunchy and chewy textures and of nutty and sweet flavors. Duck duck scotch egg was perfectly cooked, with just enough of the meat coating for flavor, not at all heavy; generous side of fruit compote added a lovely sweet zing. Spicy crab and cucumber tea sandwiches were a disappointment, flavors little more than just spicy, the aioli and cucumber making eating a slippery affair. Sticky toffee pudding was dry and crumbly rather than moist, but the accompanying lime and walnut ice cream was heavenly. Warm service, interesting cocktails.

Had brunch here as a group of 4. We started with two orders of the Earl Grey scones that were true English-style scones and very delicious, as well as a peach & fig salad. The salad was a huge, huge disappointment:-3 tiny-half figs, 3 unripe, two-inch wedges of peaches, topped with super-salty burrata for $14!? We don't mind paying $$ for tasty food, but that salad was a disgrace, both from price and taste standpoint. Entrees-wise, our table ordered The English, Marlowe burger, Breakfast Sandwich and Shirred Eggs, all were tasty. If anything, the chef/line cooks were a little heavy-handed with salt. In the end, we will return again if only for the Earl Grey scones.
