  • "From the moment you step in the door the staff is available and helpful. It was my birthday and they had a lovely card signed by the employees on our table. We were then given a champagne toast. Our entrées were all very good. The bone fillet was absolutely amazing and the king crab legs that I shared my niece were outstanding. Only thing we didn't love were the desserts. They were good but I've had better."

I generally try to get to a few of the top steakhouses a year and this one just felt an overpriced chain. Not bad but their reputation was earned too easily."

  • "We had to wait for two employees to finish lounging at the Maitre D's station before being greeted. Then we were informed that our reservation (which Capital Grille had confirmed both by e-mail and over the phone) was not until the following night, even though both e-mail and phone confirmations clearly stated this was not the case. NOT a good start to the meal. They did not have a table available, so we were put in the bar. No apologies were given. No effort was made to be pleasant. We were not very happy with the way we were treated."

  • "Our party of four dined to celebrate a graduation. On the table was a card, signed by the staff. This made a great first impression. Our Shellfish Platter featured a lobster, shrimp and oysters. I had the Steak au Poivre , and the peppery sauce overwhelmed the beef. Still, I enjoyed it. Others had filet mignon on the bone, Rib Lamb Chops, and Seared Tuna - a beautiful piece of sushi-grade fish. Sides are shared, and our mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were great. They brought a complimentary dessert: flourless chocolate espresso cake and cheesecake, which we all sampled. When you crave a perfect steak, a great wine and an elegant but comfortable setting, head to the Capital Grille Boston. It is a splurge that you’ll feel good about."

  • "Special occasion--went there with family for an early Fathers' Day dinner and everything was excellent, from food to service. The ladies are not big eaters so they split the surf and turf which wasn't a problem at all. My Balsamic Delmonico was amazing. The only minor gripe was the lack of draft beer. I know they're trying to push wine, but it wouldn't kill them to have a few draft choices. All in all one of our favorites, right up there with Grill 23 and Abe and Louie's."

  • "Well, this is the place where the contemporary Boston Brahmins go. We were there on Mother's Day, and it was NOT overbooked, even though nearly every restaurant makes that mistake on Mother's Day. Instead, we were seated promptly, served carefully, and provided everything we could want. It was pricey, but worth it. Everyone there was clearly "well heeled" and that was a bit intimidating. But the waiter was gracious and not at all a snob. This is a place I will go to only on very special occasions, but worth every penny."

  • "Graduation night was lovely. Our table was ready when we arrived, and we sat in the smaller room, which was great because the larger room was very noisy. I chose the Capital Grille Boston due to a friend's glowing recommendation as I have never been to a Capital Grille. While the ambience and service were excellent, we were slightly disappointed with the food. My son had the Delmonico steak, which had a wonderful balsamic sauce but was not extremely tender. My husband had the porterhouse, which was tender but not overly tasty. I had the seared tuna, but I have had tastier. We were given a lovely dessert, which said "Congratulations." Overall, it was a wonderful evening."

  • "Went here for restaurant week, with very high expectations. Food was great, but the experience, not so much. Got a cocktail to start with, and ordered our food. Did not get the chance to order the wine until the main course came out. The waiter was hovering around our table, waiting for us to finish our food, finish our wine (which we got halfway through our main course) and leave. Had another table just behind us, and these guests were treated completely differently. The waiter took her time suggesting them both wines and food, whereas we were just treated as unwanted guests. Given the amount of money we spent, I had expected so much more. Will not come back and will not recommend. "

  • "My husband and I were celebrating our Anniversary, we let the restaurant know when making the reservation and they surprised us by decorating our table with rosé petals and heart shaped confetti. I ordered the bass which was delicious, my husband had the salmon which he enjoyed very much. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, for dessert he brought us a complimentary chocolate cake and cheesecake (best ever) on a platter with a candle and "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate; a special ending to a very special evening. "

With all of these changes, the staff remembered the intended birthday celebration, decorated the table, every single staff person wished the celebrant a happy birthday, and topped the evening with a beautiful dessert with candles and a round of "Happy Birthday". The bone in filet mignon was superb. Thanks for making me look good! "

  • "My husband had the surf and turf: filet and king crab legs. He raved about it. My daughters and I each tried a fish dish: salmon, halibut and sea bass. We all liked the halibut the best. I did not care for the texture of the sea bass served over a tomato broth. Without our saying a word, our attentive waiter noticed I didn't eat much and insisted on taking it off the bill. "

  • "This was our first time at the Capital Grille and a great last minute choice. My husband wanted a steakhouse and for a Saturday night, we were able to get 6:45 pm dinner reservations for two. Service was impeccable. The lobster bisque special was delicious with at least four lobster claws and the oysters on the half shell were huge! For dinner we had the Bone-In Kona Crusted Dry Aged Sirloin with Shallot Butter and Porcini Rubbed Delmonico with 15-Year Aged Balsamic and both were equally delish with Parmesan Truffle Fries . Two bottles of wine topped off with a sinful Coconut Cream Pie. We both left full but not overstuffed and we would definitely go back again. Great atmosphere for romantics, special occasions and groups."

  • "I have been to the Capital Grille a few times and always have a great experience. The service is top notch and the steaks are always perfect. I recently went with a group of seven and everyone raved about their dish. We were celebrating a graduation and the staff put confetti and a signed card on our table to help celebrate the occasion. Finally, they brought out a nice dessert plate to end the evening! I always recommend the Capital Grille whether one is looking for a place to eat after a Red Sox game or to celebrate a special occasion."

Incredible but the service is what took it to a higher level. Adam took care of us and he went above and beyond which we will never forget. I would recommend this steak house to anyone. "
