A word from The Black Sheep Bistro
The Black Sheep Bistro is an American Bistro with Global Influences located in Old Town Spring. Our Chef sources ingredients daily to provide our clients with fresh ingredients while creating dishes for our evolving menu. That means our Menu is CONSTANTLY changing!!

Parking is available directly in front and across the street from The Bistro.

We highly recommend reservations for parties greater than 4.

We do not have Booster seats, high chairs or a children's menu.
Due to limited space and seating, we kindly request no children on Friday and Saturday evenings. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you understand.

  • "What a great brunch menu!! A nice split of breakfast items and lunch items, so no one has to compromise. The sausage gravy and biscuits is a bountiful serving. The crab cake Benedict is rich, yet light. The special crepe du jour was filled with lemon ricotta and strawberries and topped with fresh berries and a light drizzle of lemon sauce and honey. It was a huge portion! Make the meal a must."

Whether you choose one of the daily specials, or a regular menu item, the food is always, fresh and out of this world fabulous. They have recently added a cheese board, OMG. With the addition of a nice wine list, a glass of wine completes this experience. Try it, you will LOVE it."

  • "This place is quickly becoming a favorite of ours. This was our second time here. We went with my in-laws and we shared the Bistro Salad (WONDERFUL!), crabcakes (YUM) and the escargot mushrooms (AMAZING) appetizers. Everyone enjoyed their entrees as well. We have had the Airline Chicken, fish, pork tenderloin and the filet. They were all VERY good! The service is very pleasant and personable. Ask for Kat. She is a darling and so helpful! Oh, and they are now able to serve wine. We ordered a bottle and it was very reasonable and good. Wonderful little place! You won't regret it!"

  • "We went for lunch and I had to lobster sliders -- they are awesome! I will go back for dinner as well as the menu looks fantastic. I especially enjoy having the ability to bring my own wine so I could enjoy some of my favorite wine with friends while having a great meal. The service is great in a relaxed atmosphere however the food really does stand out."

  • "After reading such amazing reviews we were expecting a fabulous dining experience but what we got was an okay dining experience. First of all the restaurant appears online as if it's a fancy upscale romantic restaurant but it's not; it's just an expensive one with good food (good, not great). The prices are pretty outrageous. $36 for fish? Much too high for the quality and service and atmosphere or there lack of. Not sure why everyone raves about this restaurant. I wouldn't return personally. The only great thing was the fresh bread which was really good. My meal was average at best and the service was scatty. The atmosphere was much too casual for those prices and I'm still not sure what the hype was about."

  • "At first glance the Black Sheep Bistro may not look like much, but once your food arrives you will be pleasantly surprised. We had been told by some friends that this was a wonderful place to eat and we were not disappointed. The Sea Bass was amazing and the Lobster sliders were incredible. Try the duck confit and foie gras appetizer. It is amazing. they are doing a great job out in Old Town Spring."

  • "We had a great time at the Black Sheep Bistro! We had an 8:00 reservation, and they were BUSY. But, they seated us immediately. It took quite a while for our waitress to get to us, but the hostess came by and opened our bottle of wine (it's BYOB here), gave us water and bread. We were fine with the wait. I had the Red Snapper and my husband had the filet. They were both excellent. Oh, we also had the Mushroom Polenta for an appetizer. Amazing! At the end of our meal, we had the tiramisu. We were told that the chef makes all the desserts in house, and you can tell! Very good! Overall, an excellent meal! We will definitely go here again! We want to support these family-owned restaurant in our area!"

  • "We went there with friends, and had a scrumptious brunch! The menu was unique and the food was delicious! Two of us had their delicious omelets, and the third person had Crab Cake Benedict. The atmosphere was very relaxing, and we just sat and chatted for hours. We also had the opportunity to meet the owners, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends."

  • "This was our first visit to the Black Sheep Bistro, but it won't be our last! This is a small, chef owned restaurant, which is building a great reputation for good quality food. The menu is small and changes regularly, depending on what fresh produce is available. All the food we ordered was beautifully cooked and presented, clean plates all round. The Black Sheep Bistro is BYOB when we visited, but they have requested a license to serve alcohol. We had a great night eating here and will definitivily be returning. I can thoroughly recommend the Black Sheep Bistro"

  • "My husband & were celebrating the completion of our very first half-marathon. We made 6pm reservations & were seated promptly. W ordered the Kale Salad (very good), Oysters Appetizer - this is where I fell in love with this restaurant!! They were cooked perfectly & the flavor profile was out of this world. Then I got the lobster ravioli & my husband got the braised lamb. Both were very good but the lobster ravioli rocked my world!! This chef is super talented. The homemade ravioli were fabulous & the big chuncks of lobster inside were cooked perfectly. The braised lamb was fall off the bone tender. The ambiance was nice & the service was good - they didn't serve too fast & really allowed us to enjoy each course. Fabulous place!!"

The Sea Bass was fabulous although a bit pricey. The linguini with claim was good, but you better LOVE garlic! The Crab Cake was outstanding! Love, love, love that this is BYOB - hope that does not change!"

  • "I kept coming across the Black Sheep Bistro in Open Table, but was hesitant to venture outside of the superb spread of restaurants we are so lucky to have in the Inner Loop of Houston. Wow -- I am so glad we finally did. The Black Sheep Bistro dining experience is definitely a treat. The menu is short but powerful, with strong options for red meat, pork, and seafood. Every dish tasted incredibly fresh, with homemade ingredients. The Mushroom Polenta (we had for a starter) was mouth watering. We were in the mood for sandwiches for dinner; both were very good (the lamb burger & lobster roll)... but we were left wanting to taste the Sea Bass (which we heard several guests raving about), as well as the filet mignon. We'll be going back soon."

  • "I frequently dine at the Black Sheep Bistro. I have tried everything on the menu for brunch and dinner as well as many of Chef's specials as possible. Chef and Maria are amazing. Last night I had the pleasure of New England Clam Chowder, Linguine with Clam Sauce and Crème Brule. A trip to eat at Black Sheep Bistro is a must. If I do venture elsewhere, I am usually disappointed. Chef's marriage of foods and seasonings is truly mind blowing. Do yourself a favor and make Black Sheep Bistro your destination for excellent food. This is a family owned business by hard working folk who will go out of their way to make sure you will enjoy your visit as well as your food. You will not be sorry, go and enjoy!"

  • "If you love red meat, and you enjoy lamb, you MUST have the rack of lamb. Prepared as you request ( and I love mine RARE) , served with a sweet potato purée topped with brown sugar and walnuts, and lovely asparagus spears, cooked to perfection, what's not to love. My hubbie enjoyed the Black Sheep Burger, one of his favorites, again cooked you your liking, topped with a bacon jam, served with a lovely and refreshing side salad. The food is consistently fresh and the taste us always heavenly. Thus is our go to place to eat. All others pale in comparison."

  • "4 dined and we intentionally ordered a variety... this group included a few well traveled foodies...but should you have less adventuresome diners, the chicken or filet are solid contributors. For those who appreciate some culinary flexing - they bring it to the table. Osso bucco and rib roast that require no knife and melt in your mouth, fried goats cheese salad, escargot stuffed mushrooms off the charts, foie gras, well that with warn bread and wine... need nothing more! Lovely desserts to follow. It's out of the way and worth every step."

  • "From the appetizer to dessert, every bite was a treat. We were there on a quiet Wednesday night and had the full attention of our server. I plan to try everything on the menu but the specials are so compelling, it will take a few trips. Be sure to take a bottle or two of your favorite wine since they don't have a license to sell but still provide glasses and wine service. This place should be on your "must" list."

  • "This was the first time I have seen the breakfast/lunch menu and was pleased! It's nice to have the option of both because my boyfriend loves breakfast foods and I prefer lunch. Our server knew the menu very well, and was helpful in describing the dishes. I had the special wich was the lobster bisque and loved it. It was a perfect serving. Maria recognized me right away and came over to say hello and meet the rest of my party. This is my favorite thing about the restaurant."
