  • "My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and will be back for sure. We had to change our reservation to early dinner at 5:00 and had obviously beaten the crowd. Our service was great and the only complaint we had was that the sun was coming in the front window at a blinding angle. But overall, our food and drinks were great. It's a white tablecloth type restaurant in a very casual atmosphere."

  • "I received a gift card, so my boyfriend and I visited for a belated Valentine's Day dinner. The beer list was eclectic; the food selection was unique. We thought the service was attentive and friendly. The food was of excellent quality; there are some unusual flavor combinations that are wonderful. The portions are not large, but enough to satisfy one's appetite. Just several other features that we noted--there is no bread; it would have been nice to have warm crusty French bread with the meal. We were a bit puzzled by the "theme" that the restaurant was trying to convey. Yes, there was a picture of a large black pig on the wall! However, the wait staff was dressed in flannel shirts; the menus looked like office files, the font was tiny."

We were greeted with smiles, service was great, the chef/ owner came over to talk to us. We ordered the Chef's tasting. We had 5 of the best courses of food we've ever eaten. We rated our dinner in the top 20 meals we have ever eaten, including those we loved in Europe. The whole experience was amazing!"

The place is very clean and the staff members are nice and very attentive. Please don't think that because the name screams pork that it's all they have to offer. I'd even recommend this place to my Muslim friend and his wife. I will be back."

  • "The food was wonderful and service was very attentive. It has the charm of an older building in the neighborhood and the decor stays true to that. The tables were a little tight together and I felt as if i was sitting on top of my neighbor. At one point I looked at her menu sitting on her table to look for another drink. The tables were so close, she never even noticed! There was also no paper towels or toilet paper in the bathrooms which were downstairs. The brunch on Sundays is amazing. I would highly recommend."

  • "My husband, four of our friends and I went here for the first time. Our table was ready early, our server gave excellent recommendations and was attentive but not overpowering. Every person in our group, and we have a variety of willingness to try different, creative things, was extremely pleased with their entrees. I had the mushroom and barley and it was really fresh, tasty and a twist on bland vegetarian dishes. We will definitely go back again. The drink I had, the pineapple swizzle, was excellent and creative."

  • "We decided to try something new and dined at the Black Pig for Valentine's Day. It's a little pricey for every day dining but reasonably priced for a special occasion in my opinion. I had the Sticky Pig cocktail and it was delicious! The simple salad wasn't anything great and was exceedingly simple. The dressing was minimally applied and took some maneuvering to get it to cover everything. I ordered the steak frites which was delicious though I would have liked it to be a little bit warmer. Overall it was a great evening with spectacular evening but I will probably look for another venue for our next special occasion."

We tried the pork schnitzel, We also shared the braised short ribs, the baked trout, and the beef entree. Each had its own flavors working behind the scene. The food was very tasty and the service fantastic. I would certainly repeat this experience."

After a weekend meal a month ago, we ate on a Sunday for which a special brunch menu exists, but the website doesn't explain this nor show the brunch menu. We were a little disappointed in the change of menu without a clear explanation. With the exception of desserts, the food is good to very good, but I'll eat dessert somewhere else in the future."

  • "I've been to the Black Pig at least a half dozen times and never once walked away with anything less than complete satisfaction. They specialize in pork but don't be fooled, beef and fish are prepared exceptionally well there too. I ordered the Thursday special (Roast Pig) and was served a heaping portion of amazing pork. My fiance ordered the braised short ribs and was also extremely satisfied by the preparation, presentation, and taste of everything. The drinks were tasty and well mixed as well. I ordered a French 75 and another drink that was a house specialty and both were extremely good. Long story short, definitely eat here if you have the chance."

  • "Our first time at Black Pig. Two of us had excellent meals...short ribs were delightful and the trout was very good. My wife's chicken was tender, but very dry. When she mentioned it to the chef, he said that her dietary restrictions did not allow them to put on the usual sauce. How about identifying that before they prepared it? She has had similar chicken dishes elsewhere without any difficulty. We will probably return, but they need to communicate with the kitchen better when dietary needs exist."

  • "Everything was fabulous and well prepared. Ended up taking most of one of the courses home as it was just a bit too much food. Funny to say it, but 6 would have been perfect. Service was better than usual for the event since the restaurant was absolutely fully staffed. I highly recommend the cocktails here, as they are all very interesting. Pricey, but you'll taste some knew things and that's worth a couple bucks in my opinion. I'm at Black Pig a couple times a month these days and it never fails to disappoint me. If you're the brunching type, you should definitely give it a shot on Sunday."

  • "We went w/ another couple on the word of a foodie friend. My wife's braised short ribs were delicious, but my pork chop special, despite being Flintstone size, was a little overcooked and relatively tasteless. The glaze, white beans and brussel sprouts did not punch it up enough. The other two meals were good according to my friends, but the "sides" that they came with were way too small. Before ordering I asked the server for feedback on that night's pork chop special. Although we were ordering at 8:15, she said she'd only served one, and they seemed to like it. I'd have appreciated her doing a little more research so I could have avoided the mediocre meal I ended up with. Otherwise she was very attentive."

  • "Went to Black Pig while visiting my family in Cleveland during the holidays. The food and service were great. I had the sausages made of pork and foie gras, my sister had the steak frites with blue cheese sauce and we shared the Brussels sprouts. If you even like Brussels sprouts a little, give these a try! They were sautéed, slightly crispy with nuts and a sweet flavor. Yummy. My best meal while in Cleveland."
