We tried for two hours to find a place that didn't make us wait for 1.5 hours and then used open table and found this restaurant. It was wonderful, no wait, no crowded, and in a nice area -- who knew? So glad they use Open Table -- this was a real find! Portions are smaller than expected and salads are small and costly -- but delicious.

Everything is delightfully understated. Food is tasty, varied in flavors, appropriate in amount, presented nicely. Pasta was cooked perfectly and service was excellent. This is a reliable, local gem.

I love this place. My wife and I have been countless times. The small menu's simple yet elegant style helps showcase the chefs' talents at picking great local ingredients and honoring them to their fullest. You cannot go wrong on this menu, but a couple of notable repeat highlights are to have the frites as a side and end with the butterscotch budino (it's like a pudding.) If you've never been before, you might just find yourself a new low-key, yet surprisingly high quality dining experience.

We have eaten at Texas French Bread several times and have always loved it! The atmosphere and wait staff are perfect. The other evening our food was not so perfect! The meal lacked everything - substance and flavor! The drum fish with just a few brussel sprouts did not cut it! Although, we had brunch there on a Sunday and everything was fabulous!

My husband and I went to Texas French bread for Valentine's Day. I originally made a reservation at 7pm which they arbitrarily changed to 6pm. This was somewhat inconvenient for us but the only other choice they gave us was to cancel. They served a four course meal for a fixed price. We also chose to have the wine pairings for an additional cost. The food was good although the starter salad was very similar to the venison appetizer , just with the added meat. My only complaint were the wine pairings. We started with a French sparkling wine that was lukewarm. The wine accompaniment to the lamb shank was a german pinot noir with a very bitter aftertaste. It was pretty much undrinkable. All in all I wish I had just ordered a good bottle of wine for the entire dinner. Service was very gracious and mostly prompt with a big delay just prior to the entrée. Atmosphere was very nice.

Cauliflower bisque with crostini and just a bit of lump crabmeat was out of this world and a lovely start to the Valentine's Day meal. It was a memorable evening complete with attentive staff and pleasant surprises with each course served and each glass of wine poured. The only low mark goes to the drum entree, which was tasty enough but not quite up to the same standard as the other course offerings. Overall, an evening well spent. Thanks to Texas French Bread for being such a good neighbor all these years!

Typically a favorite place for lunch and dinner, but caught an off night. Too loud, drafty, busy. Out of one favorite menu item early, needed salt on the second…and the coffee was NOT decaf as promised. The service was attentive, friendly and professional. Will definitely return for another occasion, as this experience was uncharacteristic.

From the wine find, amazing fresh baked bread with olive oil, to the fantastic drum preparation. I love how it all works, tastes and feels. Thank you TFB for being there for us!
