Diner Reviews
  • "My boyfriend and I went here for the first time and everything was wonderful! They have an amazing salad bar and we enjoyed various cuts of meat without the crowds! Here's a tip: if you want to go out with someone special and actually enjoy each other's company, go during the restaurant's slower hours. I guarantee you will enjoy yourselves. Don't forget to save room for dessert, which includes cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake, Flan and Bananas Foster pie!"

  • "From the salad bar, to the bread, and finally the cuts of meats selection. All components of the experience at Texas de Brazil are set for amazement and never falls short of brilliance! Great job!"

  • "The place is nice and the food exceptional. However, it is too noisy to maintain a relaxed conversation over dinner."

  • "We celebrated my husband's birthday. We came early and had a drink at the bar. When we got to the front the host told us it seems somebody else had taken our table under our name, I mean what? We got a table but that was just weird to us as we told them when we got there, that we were still waiting on friends. But overall we had a great time, the salad bar was outstanding and the men enjoyed all the meat varieties/cuts. Waited long for our drinks, but the restaurant was very busy. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful, the manager came by once or twice I think to check on us. My husband left his gift there and when he went back to get it, luckily it was still there, so thanks for that, much appreciated!"

  • "We had gone to a rodizio style restaurant before but we wanted to try this one, and we didn't get disappointed. The food is fabulous, the "gauchos" met every one of our meat requests. Our server had a great knowledge, from Brazilian drinks to different meat cuts."

  • "The food and service is great at Texas De Brazil and the portions are bigger than their competitor, Fogo de Chao. The only negative I have is that they use to have the Orange Mint that you grab after dinner and they were very Chewy. Now the Orange Mints are hard candy and I want the Chewy Orange Mints back. They were delicious. I don't like your hard candy after dinner mints. Will you have the chewy type after dinner mints still available for your restaurants to distribute?"

  • "There's many choices of restaurants in the Town and Country village but Texas de Brazil certainly differentiates itself with it's excellent preparation of their meats, sexy ambiance, ample wine selection and very attentive wait staff."

  • "Like a typical Brazilian Steak house, you get unlimited amounts of food. You may choose from chicken, different cuts of steak, lamb, and other meats. If you choose, you have to option to get only the salad bar. The salad bar here is wonderful. The lobster bisque is to die for. On this particular trip, we had not-so-fabulous service and the meats were too salty. But this is not typical. FUNNY NOTE: At this particular restaurant, my husband found it odd that the men's restroom had only two urinals (apparently, this is against bro-code) without a divider, and several mirrors. He reported that "He could see his junk from 7 different angles""

  • "To Staff, The waiter we had was very good and attentive. Servers bringing the meat around were a little pushy and could not tell you about each type of meet. How it was cooked , season or etc and figure this would be a good feature they should know. Bar tenders were excellet in the bar area and knew their drinks a long with pleasant to speak with. Vallet service was not desirable at all because they were very rude."

  • "This was a celebration of my birthday. We've been here about 4 times now, once in December for their lunch offering. Each time was fantastic. The waitstaff were spot on and friendly as always, the meat servers were friendly and attentive as well. The meats were flavorful and tender, moist ... melt in the mouth. The salad bar has a great variety and fresh selections - love the grape and Gorgonzola salad!! YUM!! The Lobster Bisque is definitely a favorite. The manager came by a couple of times to check on us and chatted, then to my surprise he himself came to the table with my desert and presented it with a lit candle. It was wonderful! I have to say that this is definitely my favorite restaurant. We've never had a bad experience."

  • "Went here to celebrate a birthday and the food and service was fantastic. The salad bar was fresh and plentiful, the meats were delicious, and we had the creme brulee for dessert, which was very good as well. My water glass was never below half filled and after a few rounds, the servers begin remembering how you like your meat prepared and providing those cuts. Very friendly staff and wonderful food. I definitely recommend!!"

  • "This was our first time dining here. We had high expectations based on information from friends that had dined at their other locations in various cities. As lovers of Fogo De Chao we were a bit apprehensive. We were very pleased to discover that we enjoyed them just as much as Fogo. We will certainly be back."

  • "Fake flower arrangements and extravagant salad bar that needed tending did not make up for the high price."

  • "This is the third Texas de Brazil we have visited. However, it is the first time we have ever taken the kids. The cost is outrageous, but the foods are incomparable. This is a cross between fine dining and an all you can eat buffet. If you have never been, consider it a carnivores dream come true. Great meat options include Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon, Leg of Lamb, Flank Steak, and Smoked Salmon...there are many choices, but these aremy favorite."

  • "Service was not as good as the last time we were there. Took over 15 minutes and a call to the manager to get the desert tray brought by...and all we got were excuses from the waiter. We tried to make eye contact at least 5 times, but still no response. Food was also not as good as the last time we were there....quite a few items were overcooked. Still a special place and we will definitely go back, but again, the experience was not great as expected."

  • "Wonderful food and service. Only negatives were the noise level and cold temperature due to air conditioning being on."

  • "This is a awesome restaurant, being in there makes you feel you are a very important person. However I think the waiters should be more courteous."

  • "The food was fantastic. Perhaps a little over priced. The restaurant was VERY noisy. Table cloths on the tables would certainly help. For the price you pay for this place and the quality of the food, you would expect a more quiet romantic environment. There were kids running around the restaurant the whole time. Gave the feeling of being in a Chuckee Cheese not a fine dining establishment."

  • "The food was quite good, and of course plenty of it. Every few minutes the waiter or a man in a suit would come by and interrupt our conversation to ask if everything was good. I appreciate not being ignored but they should learn a better way to assess the diner's needs without constantly asking."

  • "Every thing was great from the Hostess to our server! Food was great, and there was plenty of it!"

  • "A few pieces of meat were too salty to my taste, some were served cold. however we did have a good time and good service. the waiter came to check on us regularly but he was not overwhelming, and we appreciated that. The noise level was a bit high (as always in Houston). My friend came from out of town and he loved it."

  • "The gauchos bring the meat around quite regularly. The salad bar was great. The waitress disappeared and we went without water for almost the entire meal. Overall quality of most of the cuts of meat was good. The house special cut of meat is definitely the best. The tenderloin was not high quality meat."

  • "We've eaten here about a dozen times. Previously everything was outstanding. This trip, it was horrific. The food was terrible, and the service worse. Had a 9 pm reservation, showed up at 8:50, wasn't seated til 9:20. First round of drinks took around 20 minutes to arrive. Nothing positive to say about this trip."

  • "First time there & thought the restaurant was beautiful. Very eclectic. Salad bar was to die for & the soup du jour was lobster bisque, which rivaled any other I have eaten(no lobster pcs but delicious). The meats were perfectly cooked although some of the cuts were extremely salty, which is a problem with all Brazilian Steakhouses. The meats that were not salty were incredible. To say the service was outstanding is not giving the staff credit. Server was very attentive without being overbearing, the Manager stopped by several times and the rest of the staff seemed to walk by & cover our table as if it was theirs. All in all it was a wonderful experience. If some of the meats were less salty I would have given it an outstanding rec."

  • "We've had the pleasure of dining here twice now, and both times were VERY impressed with the level of service and the attention received. The first was a dinner service, the second was a Christmas lunch service. The waitstaff, both times, were attentive but did not intrude or hover. Glasses were refilled, empty plates removed, fresh napkins or cutlery brought if needed. Their specialties - the meats... oh the meats! were exceptional, the buffet had enough variety that everyone could choose what they wanted. We look forward to dining there again, and definitely recommend this place to anyone. I think, for special occasions at least because of price, this is our new favorite Brazilian Steakhouse."

  • "Went for a special dinner on Christmas Eve. It was my wife's first time and she was very impressed. The salad area (it's not a 'bar') is spectacular. Be sure you don't fill up on all that it has to offer because the main course is yet to come. Waiters walk around with fresh meats on skewers ready to carve you a slice right on your plate. Our favorite is always the lamb! We went home overly full and with a smile on our face."

  • "My wife and I decided to escape for the holidays and go to Houston and through Open Table we found Texas De Brazil. The food was good not great.(some of the meats as others have mentioned was a bit salty for my taste) The salad bar was on another level we enjoyed it more than the great choices of meat that kept arriving at our table. It was also a nice touch to add turkey and dressing to the menu. Our server was excellent and from looking around at other servers they all seemed to be very attentive to the needs of the guests. Overall it was a really nice experience and would dine here again."

  • "The variety is great, but beware of the high amount of salt they use on their meats! I will go again and ask them to prepare food that is not so drenched in it. It is hard to appreciate the flavor of the meats when you are thirsty and puckering..."

  • "TdB is the top of the Brazilian steak houses I've been to. The service is outstanding, and food is pleantiful and well done. While the meat is great, I really enjoy their "salad" bar most. Always a great experience here."

  • "My Boyfriend and I love this restaurant. The first time we tried it is in Pittsburgh, PA believe it or not and we were very pleased with the service and food. When we saw there was one here in Houston, we couldn't wait to go. The food at this location is extremely good, the service is great and the atmosphere is energetic. There is a similar type Brazilian that does the same type of service and Texas De Brazil beats out the competition hands down. If you love meat, and I am a meat lover.... You have to try this restaurant. The meat choices are very good along with the taste. The Salad Bar is extremely good as well. I Love Eating Here and will be back again soon. :-)"

  • "our waiter was great, but everything else was mediocre at best. we only got about 4 types of meats brought to the table, and they were extremely over-salted. I had been to this restaurant once before on a weeknight and had tried about 10 types of meats and everything was great, and this second time I went with all my family to celebrate my bday, and it just wasn't at all like my first experience. it seemed that this time, being a busy Saturday, the gauchos just didn't come around enough and with enough variety. for the price we paid, I was really just so disappointed. I will never come back here. there are way too many excellent restaurants in Houston to waste my money on this mediocre one."

  • "Great salad bar and accompanyments. The quality of the meats was excellent, great flavor and tenderness. Service tableside was great as well. Servers bringing around various cuts of meats for tasting were very friendly and helpful in finding what I wanted. Only complaint was that the bar service was really slow. Decent wine selection but overpriced for what it is."
