Diner Reviews
  • "I could eat 5 orders of the beef bone marrow with gluten free crostini. I could eat it for dessert. This is the third time I've eaten here and every time it is absolutely, impeccably, mouthwateringly delicious. "

  • "I almost never write reviews, but I can't help but do so for Terra Plata because it's so wonderful. I've been there for brunch and dinner, sat outside and inside, for special occasions and on the spur of the moment, with larger groups and parties of two, and it's always great. Consistently the food and drinks are tasty, the space is stylist but comfortable, the service is prompt and polite. As much as I don't want to make it over-crowded with a rave, I have to give credit where credit is due. This is one of the best restaurants on the hill, and probably in the whole city."

  • "Love the space (rustic, modern, earthy) and the food was delicious. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, although a bit distracted now and then. The steelhead I had was perfectly cooked and delicious. The house-made potato chips are not to be missed. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they printed special menus just for us with his name on them - nice touch!"

  • "We had a great dinner: hangar steak, risotto, halibut, and chicken. Delicious radishes to start. The server was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. Lovely spot, overall."

  • "Terra Plata is my absolutely favorite restaurant in Seattle. The menu features fresh, local, and organic fare beautiful prepared. And because the food is sourced locally and seasonally, the menu is always changing with the seasons. During this visit, I had roasted pork with clams, spiced paprika, pickled beets, and an herbed potato- it was fantastic! The wine list has a great selection (try the Burgundy!), and the bar staff make great cocktails. Brunch is especially good, if you'd like something delicious and hearty. I'm a big fan of the Moroccan steak sandwiches which seem to be a perennial favorite, and the brioche french toast with fresh fruit. Be sure to make a reservation, as this place is often full of happy diners."

  • "The food was delicious but our experience was a little under par, first that the waitress while very nice, wasn't as attentive as she might have been. We'd have definitely ordered another round of drinks but no one came by. But worse, my friend found a piece of plexiglass in her salad. And the clams I ordered were much too strongly flavoured with cilantro and salt (and I love both of those ingredients), and was inedible. But otherwise, everything was delicious and the staff were helpful and friendly, though it seemed a bit overpriced for what we got. Still, I would definitely try it again--I think we just had a bit of an off night. The things that were good, were very good."

  • "Paella night is a must. Delicious and affordable. Sangria is amazing."

  • "My steak salad was wonderful. The food was great and the presentation was beautiful. I will say, though, it's not exactly clear what ties the menu together."

  • "Food was very interesting and different in a good way. All three of us enjoyed sharing each other's choices. Everything was great but our less adventurous 19 year old found some things too exotic... eg radishes and onions. Will go back."

  • "The food at Terra Plata was excellent. The portions were a little on the smallish size but they were beautifully presented. Our waiter was great. The restaurant was a short walk up the hill from the Paramount so it made for a great evening out with friends for dinner and a show."

  • "Visiting this great city of Seattle, this place was amazing. The service was great, she was very attentive. We had the blistered shisito peppers, yummy with aioli sauce. Risotto with carrot confit was full of flavors, Manila clams & Mediterranean mussels was awesome and a seasonal menu which looks like a crepe but with mushroom in it. It was so delicious. Desserts were also great. It was an enjoyable experience and this place will get flying colors."

  • "I would have given it a 5 star across but it took forever for the clams. We had the peppers, ceviche (amazing), frites and clams. Unfortunately the frites were cold by the time the clams arrived. However, our server was very apologetic and comped us a glass of wine (would have been two by my friend was driving). Great service."

  • "Twice in two months and I live in San Francisco! This place is wonderful. I happened to be in town again and (fortunately) needed a place to dine on Monday night...Paella night!!!! Outstanding and delicious! 3 of us shared a big plate of seafood & chicken paella and I thought I was back in Spain. These guys really know what they are doing. For dessert we were already stuffed, but decided to share the blood orange creme caramel and wanted to lick the plate. This is my new favorite Seattle restaurant!"

  • "First off, parking is a nightmare & we ended up having to pay $12.20 for parking. The restaurant is extremely noisy & tables crowded together. Food is not memorable. The cauliflower & beef cheeks were extremely greasy. Service was fair, but waiter was too busy with too many tables. Food was way overpriced for what you get. Would definitely not return."

  • "A great restaurant with a sharing concept. We chose to go for the restaurant concept of ordering a few menu options and sharing amongst tour group of three. The table next to us each ordered their own meal and I think they missed out. Portion sizes were conducive to the share option. I recommend it."

  • "The food was AMAZING! I've been to Terra Plata numerous times for dinner. This was my first time for brunch and it was fantastic."

  • "Terra Plata is a fun restaurant with very attentive front of the house -- when they called to confirm, I mentioned that we would be at a play prior and they remembered when we walked to ask how play was.....very wonderful. This is 3rd time we've eaten at Terra Plata -- their menu is great, food is very good and it would be great to have it branch out and change more often too."

  • "I went out for a dinner with my girlfriend, celebrating a special occasion. I am not one who frequents higher class restaurants often, but the food here was extremely well prepared in our eyes. Service was very informative and friendly. Not overbearing. Some of our favorite dishes were the Arugula salad, Fries & Aiolii, Salmon, and steak. The Seattle RainDrop my girl loved, and I had a couple great beers. We left more than satisfied."

  • "We went there for a pre-play dinner and discovered a gem. Each of us had something different, muscles, chicken, steak and all were very pleased with our selection. The server was great and knowing we were on a timeline kept us moving forward. Our water glasses were tended to in a timely fashion. There was a large gregarious party in the front of the room but we were able to easily converse."

  • "We had a "Birthday 3 Way" My brother and I are a week apart and mom is next week so we all went out together for the first time in years. An absolutely perfect night! Food was spot on and service was pretty darn perfect, thanks Ms Murphy and crew!!"

  • "Love the wide range of brunch selections, from decadent heavy to light and fresh. Everything prepared expertly and tasted delicious. Service was a bit lagging despite the restaurant only being half full."

  • "Went with my best friend Tara and we had a wonderful time. Service was at the top of the class. Went on a personal your of the top level with their garden area. Beautiful! Gotta check this place out."

  • "The ambiance, cheese plate, risotto, and wine were all exactly the high quality that you would expect from a restaurant like Terra Plata. The albacore was a bit overcooked, which was surprising, but it wasn't terrible. Where this restaurant really fell apart was in the service. We were rushed from the moment we got in until we finally dragged our feet enough to order espresso and dessert. The waiter asked if he could clear our unfinished appetizers because our main food was ready. I was asked twice within five minutes if I wanted to box up my risotto because I had merely taken a brief pause, and by the third time, I just let them take my plate. Far from a relaxing dinner, all because of the pushy service."

  • "This a great little restaurant tucked onto a corner in the Capitol Hill area just up the hill from downtown Seattle. We started with Seattle rain drop cocktails, which were quite good. The brussels sprouts were delicious and the hand made potato chips were just right. The hanger steak was beautifully presented and very tasty. But the roast pig with chorizo and clams was the highlight of the meal. With every bite, it just kept getting better. Try it, you'll like it!"

  • "Everything at Terra Plata was very good. The appetizers are wonderful, especially the peppers are charcuterie plate. We had a little trouble with the burger but they were busy and it was an honest mistake. Excellent experience overall."

  • "This was a home run in terms of food, ambience, and waitstaff. Three of us had very different choices and every dish, actually every bite of food was sublime. Truly best brunch food that we have eaten. They take reservations which I love as well. Only small blurb was having to still wait 20 minutes for our table because the walk in group who came in minutes before us were given the open table and we arrived 2 minutes before our reservation. Will definitely come back. The prices are on the high side of reasonable and worth it because it was all so good. Grits and greens were sooo perfect as was the fried chicken. Gotta try them!"

  • "What a wonderful restaurant--a gorgeous ambience and incredible food. We ordered all vegetables and had a marvelous experience. The blistered peppers with garlicky aioli and lemon were particularly delicious. Highly recommended!"

  • "Tamara Murphy and her great team continue to deliver a wonderful dining experience. Our party for this visit included four regulars as well as a fellow who now lives in Belgium and his 89 year old mother. All were delighted with the food, drink and service. Although the typical patron that night probably was about a third her age, our 89 year old friend was so happy with her meal, she said it "felt like home." (She must eat far better than I do at home.). One of the regulars observed that the Churros seemed to be a bit shorter than they used to be, though that might just have been wishful remembering. In all, a great evening,"

  • "Wow, why have I waited so long to try this place. Fantastic food prepared with care and attention to detail. Yes, the Brussel Sprouts *are* all that, even if you don't normally like them. Great place for foodies, I look forward to returning and working my way thru more of the menu. Top notch, don't miss."

  • "Went on a date with a really good friend from out of town. Being allergic to seafood I was very worried that I would not be able to eat anything... They made me a paella with everything but seafood and it was truly amazing. It was better than any paella I have ever had, which I have had many before I became allergic to seafood. I would say right up there with Spain if not better."

  • "Based on other reviews, I selected this for a dinner with friends (4 of us total). The food was delicious. Good enough I would go back again. The brussel sprouts appetizer will make anyone into a fan. The pork feel away from the bone, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The desserts were unique and just as good as the other courses. They use the roof apparently during the summer. My only warning to folks is this is on part of Cap Hill where parking is at a premium and paid parking was a walk. So plan accordingly. I had no problems on a weekday but weekends - watch out."

  • "We chose Tera Plata because it was close to the theater we were attending the same evening. We arrived at 5:30 pm, when the restaurant just had a few tables seated, the majority of the place was empty. Even though we told our waiter we needed to leave by 7 pm, we still had not received our main course at 7 pm. In the end, our main entree was given to us in a doggy bag. So, we paid our $120 bill for two people, left hungry and very dissappointed."
