Diner Reviews
  • "Owners are fully engaged, taking orders and serving good. Unusual location but you step in and are teleported into an intimate Greek dining experience, served by your new friends.Try the Greek pot pie or lamb shank. Take the bone home and your dog will forgive you for not taking them."

  • "We had the roast lamb and it melted in our mouths! Soooo good! We also had the chicken rolled up with spinach. The chicken was moist and so tasty. The staff is very friendly. We will definitely be back!"

  • "You'd never suspect a restaurant in a strip mall would be such a wonderful place to dine. We loved Tastes of Greece and will definitely be back. The food was authentic and I loved that the owners are constantly there and accessible. You can tell they really love what they do. Service is just what they do and making people feel happy is who they are."

  • "I'm happy that such a place is near my house. The food is authentic Greek, but slightly adjusted for American palates (less butter and fat). The prices are nice - very affordable for what they serve. I still am wondering how they can stay in business - with their prices so low. Unfortunately, some customers compare their prices to Daphne's. That's like comparing prices of Morton's to Sizzler. My only complaint - they're closed on Sundays. But then, it's run by a husband - wife ownership. So, they need a break sometime. I'll be back very often - to support them. It's nice to have such a place in the local community."

  • "So thankful a friend recommended Tastes of Greece, the food is delicious, the seasonings are amazing and all dishes are freshly prepared. A must try is the hummus and the spicy cheese appetizer!! oh my it is a taste bud treat!! It is in a simple center and from the outside it seems like nothing, however once you step inside you are transported to Greece... So go and enjoy and say hello to Elizabeth and Yanni!!"

  • "Food was very good but service was slow (read that under staffed). Still had a good time and will return."

  • "Looking for something different we decided to try Tastes of Greece. Spoiled by the dining experiences when visiting Chicago's Greek town our expectations really weren't that high.Pulled up to a strip center convinced me that this was just going to be another ordinary meal but we were totaly surprised the minute we walked through the door. The restaurant was clean bright and very homy. Our waiter was a young man from Athens and he could have not been better. The food was a delight and the price was more than reasonable. During dinner the owner/chef visited our table and she made sure we were enjoying the evening. I just can't say enough about this restaurant. First visit but certainly not the last. Try it you will thank me."

  • ""Authentic Greek" applies to more than the menu. The care and attention given to the extensive menu is also evident in the unassuming service provided by the owners and their staff. They almost seem embarrassed when asked for recommendations to guide you through the many possibilities of wonderful sounding Greek dishes. Be sure to ask about different dishes and especially the desserts. We overheard descriptions of the sea bass that when we asked about became clear we had to try it. And it was well worth the excursion from our habit of it's Greek so try the lamb. And overhearing about Elizabeth's homemade ice cream led us to discover something even better than the fish. This is definitely a must-revisit restaurant to try more wonderful food."

  • "We enjoyed Tastes of Greece for the food--interesting, not run-of-the-mill, authentic--as far as I could tell; the service--individual, personable, slow-paced; ambiance--neighborhood small, with great use of a small space as well as inviting design choices. The best part of the evening was that we were allowed a leisurely meal, no rush. The baklava was delicious, interesting flavors I've not had before. All in all, a delightful evening that we look forward to repeating."

  • "A friend introduced me to this restaurant. Run by a husband and wife - the food is amazing. My first experience with Greek cuisine. I'm now hooked. This will now be one of our 'usual haunts' from now on. I'm trying to tell as many of my friends as I can about this place. And, you'd never guess at how good this palce is - based on the location (plane looking 'strip mall', where all other storefronts are not that great)."

  • "One would not expect to find a restaurant with such great food & service in a 'fast food strip mall'. I would've never gone in here, if not for a friend's recommendation. I'm new to Greek food, but this is authentic, the 'owner' (husband) is a Greek national. Look for the daily specials - there's more than one. And, the desserts are amazing - the 'owner' (wife) is a French-trained pastry chef. The only problem with the dessert menu is, deciding on which one to order."
