Blue Door Kitchen & Garden, home to celebrated Chef Art Smith, is a farm-to-table oasis in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast and deeply rooted in the philosophy of letting the seasons dictate the menu. From its inception, the Blue Door brand has become synonymous with sustainability and responsible sourcing. We pride ourselves in showcasing dishes made from fresh, local ingredients sourced from Midwest farms.

Experience a chef-driven menu featuring everything from pierogis and market fresh salads, to Chef Art Smith’s famous buttermilk fried chicken. Walk-ins are always encouraged. Be sure to join us during the warmer weather months when the beautiful outdoor patio is open. Charming decor, excellent service by Juan, and yummy dishes. We enjoyed the interior dining room, however the outdoor space is equally lovely. In a great neighborhood for walking after the meal. Can't wait to return!

This was the most $200 worth of unseasoned "Soul Food" We've ever tasted. Not 1/1000th drop of salt or any seasoning. Waste of our $$, waste of $22 to park, 30 Min in rush hour traffic, only to box it all up to feed to our dogs. Coming from Nola, the Chef is either never around, or seasonings ran out. It's a beautiful space, but it stops there. Not one seasoned Entree. We had 2 chicken dishes. All of the sides, and Shrimp and Grits. Nothing was flavored.

Absolutely perfect brunch experience. A delicious lychee cocktail and an exquisite slice of quiche with mixed greens salad. I savored every sip and bite.

Blue Door is a neighborhood fav of mine.The day we visited and the cooling system was having issues keeping up.I felt bad for the staff.We shared a salad and the stuffed peppers.When the server arrived with our meal-my guest and i looked at the pepper(we almost always order them)and laughed.They were the smallest,most unstuffed peppers we have ever experienced at BD!As we all know food costs are high but it was so disappointing .Id rather you raise it a couple of bucks and keep integrity and presentation of the dish.
