Susan Feniger's STREETDisappointed Favorite RestaurantI am not sure why they started a new brunch for Mother's Day. that being said... waiting 40 minutes for my son to get french toast bites is ridiculous. Two people kept checking on it. Everyone around us was getting there food and there we waited. We weren't there when the mad rush was there, but the food took a long time that it got very busy. This is one of my favorite places but today was a huge disappoitment. The Food was incredible when we got it5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways OutstandingGreat restaurant...the food is always fantastic! It's like visiting a friend's home...warm, caring, and always a terrific meal.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night outWe live by LAX and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to the restaurant - so we were in a bit of a bad mood when we arrived. That changed quickly as our server was fabulous - very knowledgeable about the specials and the overall menu. Everything we ordered was delicious - would definitely go back again - despite the distance from our house.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLive a little, go!A fun, grazing sort of dinner, made up of lots of small plates and everybody sharing. Between 4 people we tasted 10 different items on menu and found every single item unique and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with fresh, high quality ingredients that left you feeling great, not one was too rich. I would have liked my pizza dough a little less doughy, a little more cooked, otherwise excellent. My fav's of night, in order: sashimi plate, BBQ jackfruit bao, Szechuan potstickers, kaya toast & beet salad.
Relaxed environment, but it was a Tuesday!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMExciting foodDue to it being Cinco de Mayo, the restaurant had a special all-taco menu. Customers could build their own tacos with either meat, fish or vegetarian "protein", then add a salsa and a topping. Our party chose mahi-mahi or vegetarian options. The best was the spring onion and bean taco. The chayote squash and roasted corn taco was quite good, as was the batter-fried okra. The mahi-mahi was so-so. Salsas and toppings were all amazing! We especially loved the pickled tomatoes which we added to the spring onion and bean taco along with cheddar cheese. Fantastic!! Drinks were delicious, as was the maple cake for dessert. Fun experience with very exciting food!
The service was terrific--friendly waiter.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is great, but theThe food is great, but the menu doesn't make it apparent that the items are all "small plates." After we were seated the waiter told us that we'd probably need 3 - 4 plates per person, which made our casual dinner very expensive. I liked the food a lot, but felt like we had been tricked about the pricing.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest dinner in Los AngelesMy husband and I came for a quick bite to eat before the movies and were over the moon with how yummy the food was...we had so much trouble deciding what to order but EVERYTHING was outstanding...the BAO buns were my favorite my husband loved it all!!!!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurantThe food is always great, I didn't give it 5 stars only beacuse I really wanted a pizza and their oven was not working that night. Other than that, everything was great. The manager is very nice & friendly, always welcoming! The specialty cocktail was delicious!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you're looking for uniqueIf you're looking for unique tapas at a good price, this is the place. Valet parking right out front, street parking usually very easy to find within the surrounding block or two. Great ambience inside, modern, edgy, elegant, casual all in one...the waitstaff extrememly informative and knowlegable about the dishes. Glad to have come across this local gem, will definitely go back.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMYUM!Always delicious! was pleasantly surprised by "earthday" specials and took full advantage. Everything was scrumptious.
very sad to see the millet puffs gone due to "vegan" concerns. they were a great give away, but i'd happily pay for a bowl of them!
hint hint!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time here and we wereSecond time here and we were so impressed with the variety of the food. It is not your meat & potatoes restaurant and we are so glad for that. Potstickers, samosas, and the mushroom/pea pod pizza were our favorites. Go but with an open mind and you will love it as much as we did. Nice wine list, too - small but a good variety not just chard and pinot.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI love small plates - it givesI love small plates - it gives you the opportunity to explore the menu and try whatever tickles your fancy. The food was eclectic, but all very delicious. The outdoor seating was wonderful - plenty heated so it was very warm and comfortable. the rickshaw shrimp bowl was a little too salty, but still good.
those angry eggs were so cute, but delicious!
my friend and I didn't think we'd get full because of the small portions, but I guess we ordered enough food and left very full!
we loved trying out Susan's food.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food here is absolutelyThe food here is absolutely AMAZING!!! We tried one of almost everything on the menu and while these plates are tapas sized, there were 4 of us and we were almost too stuffed to get through the dessert. And as a special treat...Susan actually comes around to the tables to introduce herself or bring you your food.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is outstanding andThe food is outstanding and the service quite good, however, the noise level is very distracting. When I dine, especially with another couple or two, the food and service are on an equal footing with the ability to converse with others. When it is necessary, during the meal, to raise my voice to be heard the experience is marginalized.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite restaurant inMy favorite restaurant in LA! I make sure to take out-of-towners here when they visit, as it is always a delicious and fun meal.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great, food,Everything was great, food, atmosphere and service. Servers/staff were efficient, knowledgeable and friendly.
Bit of a problem with the valet. I had $6 cash on me, was alone and in heels when I left and he told me I'd need to go the ATM on the corner for cash, the $8 needed. I thought that was rather petty, but didn't seem to have a choice, so walked to the gas station, used the ATM, of course getting a $3 for it. Then, after I got home, my daughter said hers was only $5 because we arrived during HH. There were 5 in my group and we all arrived for drinks before 7p at HH. Their web site also says $5 valet if arriving during HH. Regardless of the time, the best customer service thing to do, would be to say that my $6 would be fine.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMdelicious, interesting, anddelicious, interesting, and upscale street food. small plates perfect 4 sharing!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experienceWe were a group (4 adults and a toddler). I was concerned that our friends' baby would be a problem, but the staff was very friendly and accommodating and, luckily, the baby was pretty-well behaved. The food was fantastic. We really enjoyed the experience and would recommend the restaurant to anyone who would listen. Thank you for a wonderful experience.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDistinctive food. Good forDistinctive food. Good for an occasional visit and for out of town friends to display LA's eclectic food spots. Probably NOT healthy. I was waiting for the rest of my party and the bartender, Sam, was super cool. The food was amazing! That coconut jam?!?! Service was great and reasonably priced. Dessert was decadent. I'll definitely be coming back.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't wait for moreLoved the zucchini and carrot latkes and the Japanese Breakfast was delicious.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a reservation for 5:15We had a reservation for 5:15 and were seated outside. There was a draft so we asked to be seated closer to the entrance of the restaurant. We were told they would have to hold the tables for a party of 6 since they were very booked. We sat inside where the chairs felt too low for the table. Not more than 30 minutes later, another couple was seated right at the spot we had asked for. Other than the seating glitch, our servers were all very friendly and helpful. The tables we were at kept wobbling so one of them had corks in hand to fix the situation! We liked our drinks (tamarind/ginger cooler and basil limeade), but for $5 it was pretty steep, especially for such a small glass. We were there for 2 hours and never felt rushed.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFlavorful & Colorful Street!!!Great ambience, creative menu, great tasting food!! Small plates, so you get to taste a number of dishes ... lots of vegan choices. Curry Fries, Pumpkin Cauliflower Cannelloni were our favorites. Good selection of wines ... they comped our cappuccinos becoz they didn't want to serve the donuts we ordered for dessert as it had not come out well ... we'll be back to taste the donuts for sure!! Our friends who were at the Street for the first time, loved it too!
Our waiters were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu & wines ... service was great!
