Gorgeous patio and we loved the live music. I couldn’t get into our table because my chair was wedged between a tree and and the leg of the table which was between my legs for dinner. We asked them to move it out a bit and they didn’t take the wine glasses off before moving the table, and that was a almost a fiasco, but I caught the glass before it fell. All the food was good. My salmon was a bit boring but the cod was great. One had a lot of the yummy sauce but the other didn’t which didn’t seem right. The lamb and the passion fruit soufflé were the biggest hits. All in all it was a very nice night, but not as upscale as I expected. A child at the table next to us was banging her spoon in the plate for the first 10-15 minutes. The bus boy kept mumbling things that we couldn’t understand well and he poured the water from the end of the table, trying to reach the glass, which mostly made it, but it was not appropriate for such a nice place. Our waiter was great; loved him (Milan). In the end it was just SO expensive, id say twice as much as most nice places in town, so for me I probably won’t return, or at least not for a long time.

What an absolutely incredible experience! We eat out A LOT, and this experience by far has been one of the best experiences we have ever had - from service to food to ambience and everything in between, our experience at Stonehouse was above and beyond. We decided to have the Dover sole for two (amazing) and the chocolate soufflé was perfection!

FAQs

It depends on what you want: for romance and sunset views, book a dinner reservation around sunset, guests rave about evening lighting and live guitar. For gardens and daytime photos, Sunday brunch or a lunch reservation is ideal. If you prefer a quieter experience, choose a weekday lunch or midweek dinner when it’s typically less crowded. Always reserve in advance, especially on weekends and holidays.

Yes, the staff commonly accommodates special requests. Guests report successful arrangements for dietary needs, allergy accommodations, celebratory touches, table-side preparations and seating preferences. Because the restaurant can be busy and some requests require advance notice (private tables, dietary needs, celebratory arrangements), call when you book to confirm details and ensure the team can meet your request.

Guests report occasional private or semi-private rooms for celebrations, but availability may be limited. Many reviewers mention intimate private rooms and special-event table-side service for anniversaries. Because private dining options aren’t clearly listed, call the restaurant to discuss private-event possibilities, capacity and any minimums or special arrangements.

Yes, Stonehouse is an excellent choice for a romantic date night. Guests consistently praise its magical garden setting, twinkling lights, live acoustic music, tableside preparations (Steak Diane, Dover sole, desserts) and impeccable service. Plan to arrive early to stroll the grounds and book a sunset or evening table on the terrace for the most romantic ambiance. Note that it’s a splurge, many guests call it expensive but worth it for special occasions.

Yes, it can be in high demand. Guests frequently advise booking weeks in advance, especially for weekend dinners, Sunday brunch and holiday evenings. During peak times the restaurant may have a wait or limited availability; calling ahead or reserving early is the best way to secure your preferred time and seating area.

Generally yes, Stonehouse operates regular meal periods and many guests visited during holiday times (Christmas, New Year and seasonal events). However, holiday hours or special menus can vary, so call ahead or check the restaurant website before your visit to confirm holiday service and any special offerings.

Yes, outdoor dining is one of Stonehouse’s highlights. Guests frequently mention a terrace, veranda, covered patio surrounded by gardens, heaters for cool evenings, and twinkling lights. Outdoor seating is popular for brunch, lunch and sunset dinners; reserve early if you want a specific outdoor table.

Portions tend to be moderate and designed for sharing or multi-course dining. Guests often order appetizers, a main and dessert, and many recommend sharing entrees (Dover sole for two, Steak Diane) or sides. A few guests noted some items felt small, so expect refined, plated servings rather than oversized portions, it’s more about quality, presentation and the full experience than large quantities.

Family-friendly, yes. Guests frequently celebrate birthdays and bring families, and reviewers mention a kid’s option and guests dining with teens. For accessibility, specific details aren’t listed; some guests reported bench seating or high benches that were uncomfortable. If you need accessible seating or have mobility needs, call ahead so the staff can best accommodate you.

Yes, several guests describe bringing their dogs and note a dog menu was available, so the property has welcomed canine companions. Because this is an upscale property with specific seating areas and seasonal conditions, call ahead to confirm pet-friendly seating, any restrictions, and whether your dog will be comfortable in the outdoor garden or patio areas.

Stonehouse serves multiple meal periods: breakfast Mon–Sat 7:00–9:30 am and Sun 7:00–9:00 am; Sunday brunch 10:00 am–2:00 pm; lunch Mon–Sat 11:00 am–2:00 pm; and dinner daily 5:00–9:00 pm. For holiday hours or special events, call ahead or check the restaurant, since hours can vary.

The ambience is romantic, rustic-elegant and intimate, guests frequently call it "magical, " "European, " or "fairyland." Expect manicured gardens, twinkling lights, live acoustic guitar at times, and attentive, theatrical service (tableside preparations and smoked cocktails). It’s polished but unpretentious, ideal for special occasions, anniversaries and destination dining.

Stonehouse offers a mix of indoor and outdoor options: a wooded terrace/veranda and covered patio with heaters, an elegant indoor dining room with a fireplace, and a separate lounge/speakeasy for cocktails before or after dinner. Guests also mention occasional private or semi-private rooms for celebrations. When reserving, request the area you prefer (terrace, fireplace room or quieter table), staff are usually happy to accommodate when they can.

Resort casual is the stated dress code. Guests typically dress nicely for the elevated, romantic setting, think smart casual attire suitable for a special occasion. If you have specific questions about attire for an event or private celebration, call the restaurant ahead of time.

Busiest: weekend dinners, sunset service and Sunday brunch, many guests say these are lively and can book up. Quietest: weekday lunches and midweek dinners tend to be calmer. If you prefer a peaceful dining experience, aim for a weekday lunch or an early week dinner and reserve ahead.

There’s no single “best” day, it depends on your priorities. For sweeping garden views and a lively atmosphere, Sunday brunch is exceptional. For sunset romance and tableside theatrics, a weekend evening is ideal. For a quieter, more relaxed meal, midweek lunch or dinner works best. Book early for weekends and holidays to secure the time and seating you prefer.
