  • "amazing dinner, view, and staff. Great great place both with your lady or with a group.."

  • "We first came across Steiner Ranch when we were touring the area, just after moving to Texas. We drove up, and smelled intoxicating meat being smoked. We drove closer and the NICEST guy explained that it was Employee Party day and he was cookin'. He couldn't have been more friendly. Later on, we found out he was their Executive Chef. Wow. We came back when the restaurant was open and were treated like royalty, when simply mentioning we'd never been there before. The manager gave us a personal tour, and again...HE couldn't have been nicer, too. So, when my brother came to town we HAD to share this with him. We had a blast and couldn't have been attended to, or experienced more INCREDIBLE cuisine! THIS IS A MUST EXPERIENCE PLACE!!!"

  • "The steaks were amazing!!!!!! We ordered the ribeye's, they were tender, seasoned & cooked perfect to our order and delivered hot to the table."

  • "The food was not awful, but for the way Steiner Ranch Steakhouse advertises and prices its food, I was unimpressed. We were a group of four. Had appetizers, wine, entrees and desserts. Smoked turkey/tortilla soup, and the cheesecake dessert were quite good. Otherwise, nothing extraordinarily good. Seating was confused, wine selection was confused, our waiter was unsure of the evening's special. "I'm not sure," he said, "because it's new!" Chuckle? Wine glasses not refilled, our waiter told us lots of stories about himself. I've had much better food at Perry's & Flemings. At these prices, there are much better food and service options in Austin. With Steiner's spiel for their excellent food and service, $340.00 later, we were disappointed."

  • "My husband and I came up from Dallas for our anniversary. We had been wanting to try Steiner Ranch for a while. The restaurant is so very Texas. From the cowboy decor to the view of the lake, everything was beautiful. Our server was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Our bone-in ribeye steak was cooked to perfection and the creamed spinach was warm and cheesy! This dinner rivaled any chophouse in Dallas. There is an outside dining and bar area where we had after dinner drinks and listened to the nightly entertainment...very romantic! We will definitely be returning on future trips to Austin."

  • "We had a special family occasion and the Ranch was perfect. I have never had food melt in your mouth like this did. We will be making more trips back!!!"

  • "I had the perfect dinner experience at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. I was seated in a beautiful private dinning area with the most incredible view of the lake. My red wine was exceptional and my meal was delectable! And all of this was facilitated by extremely courteous staff and my exceptional waiter."

  • "The location of the restaurant is gorgeous, not to mention the architecture of the building itself. We ordered the blue-corn tortilla chips with salsa and queso for our appetizer, all of which was absolutely delicious. I got the 7 oz. filet mignon with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and he got the country fried elk with mashed potatoes and broccoli. With steaks, I normally order them well done. However, I'll get medium to medium well next time so that it's juicier. For dessert, our waiter Caleb brought out a complimentary and delicious bread pudding since we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday. Our waiter was really knowledgeable and extremely professional, and we'll definitely request to have him serve us again next time."

  • "We went there to celebrate my husbands birthday - the website said open at 11 on Sundays for brunch or regular menu, will take reservations. Made reservations requested a view. Got there - actually opened at 10 on Sunday, sat us inside by the piano - wanted a view, found out had to put our name on separate outside list, they accommodated us to sit outside BUT sat us in the middle of nasty, smelly, cyclist - NO view, asked to order from menu was told that they only serve brunch on Sundays - for 20.00 I ate 4 strawberries and 2 pineapple slices, for another 20.00 my husband ate from the brunch menu, played country music outside - not a fan of country music. Was it worth it - NO. Would I go back again on a Sunday - NO."

  • "Everything was perfect! From the moment we entered the building until the time we drove away, our night was wonderful. The Food & Service were top notch. We can't wait to return."

  • "Upon arriving to Steiner ranch, my family and I were amazed at the view. We were greeted by the valet and hostess with smiles and kind words. The hostess accommodated our outside seating request and we were greeting yet again by another very friendly and cheerful waitress. She was very patient with us asking many questions and made some great dinner suggestions. The steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection and the sides were amazing as well. Overall, our first visit was one to remember and we will most certainly be returning again."

  • "Tonights dinner started out very well, seated quickly by the young smiling girls. The view is fantastic here. Every dining room looks out over the lake. The server was knowledgeable, efficient, recommended local favorites, and was timely in coursing our meal. The FOOD was AMAZING!!! The Cowboy Ribeye was cooked to perfection and full of juice and flavor. I chose some "add ons" and turned up the dish a notch by getting crab au gratin and blackened shrimp on top like the sign i saw, and it was well worth the flavor. There is an option for any wine drinker, and several that are not found on any other wine list in town. All and all, great meal, ambiance, and service for my date and I. Cannot wait to go back and try the Happy hour!!!!!"

  • "Made a reservation for father's day, couldn't wait to take him for a nice fat steak. Checked out the menu online, full menu all day was online. Also checked out the brunch menu before going as well. Our reservation was for two at 11:15. Two disappointments: 1. We climbed stairs or took an elevator to serve ourselves from a buffet. 2. We could not order a steak. Our server said steaks are not offered until after 12:30pm. Breakfast buffets are a dime a dozen. We certainly did not need to drive 45minutes to enjoy one. Then to pay primo price to serve ourselves, they could have at least set up a buffet on the second floor where they parked us. Very disappointed."

  • "My family took me here for Father's Day dinner. We arrived 5 minutes ahead of our reservation time, and were told our table was being prepared so we happily waited. However, that 5 minutes turned in to 15 minutes. We were seated in a small room that was overcrowded with tables and guest, and relatively warm to hot. It took nearly 10 minutes for our server to acknowledge us, and we were seated without a wine list, so that was another 5 minute wait... When I finally ordered the wine, the vintage listed in the wine list was not what the sommelier brought out. I pointed it out, but he informed me that they only have the newer vintage. The steaks were average, at best - not what I expect for a $50 steak. All in all, I am quite disappointed..."

  • "The waiter we had was not good. He couldn't handle the number of tables that he had. We always had to ask for water. He was unclear when describing the options for my side dishes thus didn't get what I was expecting. They brought out the salads with the dinner meal."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "We had brunch here for father's day, so I'm not sure about the wine list and dinner menu, but the brunch was excellent and we are already planning a trip back to have dinner and/or drinks!"

  • "Had their food on previous occasions and was very good. Had Sunday brunch and was not impressed. Prime rib was cold, guy at the omelet bar was sweating all over the pans, service subpar for the cost."

  • "We have dined here before and the food and service were excellent. This time it was saturday night on father's day weekend.....I have worked in the restaurant business and I know how busy these holidays are. Although we were seated on time, we waited far too long for our entrees to arrive and my husbands steak was not cooked correctly. The server was apologetic and took it back to be cooked correctly. By the time we were done, we had been there for two and a half hours. I would go back, but would encourage them to rethink how they handle holiday weekends to improve the kitchen service. Possibly they should have comped our deserts."

  • "I made a reservation for a special occasion. I asked for a scenic view table outside. Instead they placed us at the far back tables on the patio. They only view we had was that of tables in front of us. Then when I ordered wine, it was brought out in a plastic wine glass with a gnat floating in it- not much for classy. The waiter took the glass back and brought me a fresh one. As we got our dinner, my steak was overcooked and had to send it back. My husband had ordered raw broccoli with his steak. Instead the waiter brought him 'all broccoli' steamed, by the way. He never got a side of mashed potatoes nor did he even get his sides corrected after letting the waiter know. Overall, the service sucked and we won't be going back."

  • "Took someone special to Steiner Ranch Steakhouse Sunday night. We each ordered the ribeye and it was wonderful! No bone and very little fat. It was cooked exactly the way we asked and was super tender.. Expensive but worth the price. We also ordered the lobster macaroni (comes in Family size) and it was heavenly! The wine list is impressive and the views are spectacular. After dinner we went to the outside patio and listened to some live music and enjoyed the views. If it hadn't been such a hazy day the sunset would have been breathtaking."

  • "Food was good. We booked a table for anniversary. As we arrived our hostess brought us to our table and then told us someone took it. Then she placed us at a table without a view in the middle of the traffic path. Waiter shrugged off fact we were not pleased with table. We ordered pinot grigiot, and waiter brought us pinot noir. When I told him I didn't order it, he argued that I did and even said my husband wanted red (not true). They were great with our 5 year old, and great sunset views. We won't go back."

  • "The steak, lobster chips with cheese sauce and blackened shrimp was outstanding. The 10oz fillet was tender and cooked to my expections. My wife's shrimp brochette was very good and she enjoyed it. We arrived a little before 6:30pm for indoor seating and as we finished our meal, we waited 35 minutes to get a peach cobbler for dessert. The service is slow as the place gets more busy. Overall, it was good meal and a good experience"

  • "Fabulous western theme with outstanding steaks, seafood, and appetizers! I treated two of my clients to dinner Saturday evening and was delighted with the food, service, and ambience. An added bonus was the visit from Bobby Steiner, who graciously treated US to a molten lava cake after a truly memorable meal. Thanks so much!"

  • "Most disappointed. Waitress rolled her eyes each time I spoke. Food was awful. M baked potato was under done. Manager looked daggers at me when we were leaving. Not one person working there said thank u to us etc. only the valet. "

  • "This was our first visit to this restaurant and had heard good things. We had a reservation and arrived early to have a cocktail before meeting our friend for dinner. The whole outdoor bar scene was fun! It was a comfortably busy Friday night, the drinks were good and the service was spot on. At dinner, things were just average. Our server Caleb seemed inexperienced and uncomfortable. We ordered the lobster mac with our entrees, but he said he failed to include it in the order, so the lobster mac come to late in the meal to really enjoy. He should have comped the lobster mac. Also one of the steaks had to be returned to the kitchen because it was not prepared the way it was ordered, way under done. Not sure we will be back. "

  • "We were 1st timers to Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. Great Service, awesome view, very relaxing dinner w/ friends. Their prime rib was melt in your mouth. The Ahi Tuni appetizer was a little mushy. Our waiter, Will was awesome. He attended to all our needs but didn't bother us...great guy. "

  • "We had a group of 3 family members that visited for dinner. The menu was huge with many options and everything we selected was excellent. The view from the restaurant is beautiful as it sits high on the hill. Although we dined inside there is outside dining and live music. The staff was very attentive and friendly. A manager walked us out to the balcony and took our pictures for us. I highly recommend Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. We made reservations thru Open Table and that was quick and easy"

  • "I boycotted Steiner Ranch Steakhouse after receiving poor service and terrible food a year ago, but decided to try it again for my birthday. What a terrible decision. Our party of 4 was neglected all evening by our server, with many excuses about why our drinks/bread/food wasn't served to us in a timely manner ( many of the drinks aren't at the second floor bar apparently). The only saving grace was the good food- that was actually an improvement over my last visits. If they could only get the service part straight, it might be a good restaurant again one day. "

  • "Food was great, service was great. But it was our 15 year anniversary and I requested a table as private as possible. I understand that there's only so much they can do. Seating us by the largest group in the restaurant and amongst every one else is not my idea of private. Especially when the whole other side of the dinning area was unoccupied. When I asked the host if we could move to another table she responded with a very snooty I did what I could and walked away. I have eaten at much less expensive restaurants and was treated with a lot more respect. It will take me a long time before I return to this establishment again. I am not one to voice my opinion a lot. Being that my family works in the customer service. I do understand service"

  • "Even though it had rained, they turned on the fire pit and brought out the guitar player; great view and ambiance on the patio. Food was excellent--we each had something different so we got to experience steak, fish, and salads. Wine was very good. Only problem was that the server had too many tables to which to attend so service was a little slow. Not his fault."

  • "Excellent food, best I have had in a long time but expect to spend a little bit of money. Nice place to impress a first date, trust me it works! Porch with music is awesome vibe with an amazing view of the lake in the back ground. Now if only Steiner Ranch could fill the lake back up that would be the only thing that could make this better!"
