A word from Stafford's Pier/Pointer Room
A tribute to the maritime heritage of beautiful Harbor Springs, Stafford's Pier Restaurant offers true waterfront dining, quite literally, as the Pier Restaurant was built on original pilings over the harbor.

The Pier's Pointer Room overlooks the historic yacht basin while offering visitors a superb choice of fine cuisine. The more casual Chart Room provides a relaxed environment with a traditional menu. A local meeting spot, the Wheelhouse Lounge is open daily for cocktails with a complete menu. Dudley's Deck is without question the most famous outdoor dining spot in northern Michigan and the place to be each and every Fourth of July.

Along with spectacular views, the Pier notes an impressive culinary team, lead by Executive Chef Britt Beaumont.

The Pier is always the center of action in Harbor Springs all year long. And especially when summertime hits, there is probably no more popular nightspot in town.

  • "You couldn't find a more beautiful dining room than the Pointer Room at Stafford's Pier Restaurant. Views of the harbor are all around and when we were there last Thursday evening we enjoyed watching the activity on the third deck of a huge yacht. The Pier has the best whitefish we've ever had - year after year. My favorite is the recipe (not on the menu) with capers and lemon sauce."

  • "as this is the very beginning of the season, with new employees, there are always a few "glitches" to work out, but we love this dining venue. As a great added surprise, we found a newly added appetizer(fried brussel sprouts), so delicious we asked to complement the chef. That alone will bring us to dine at the Pier more often! My husband had the famous perch dinner and it never disappoints! I ordered king crab legs which were delicious, but the first time mistakenly came out as crab cakes.Management is superb and we felt specially treated. You cannot miss this restaurant if you're in this area, as it is truly a winner!"

  • "ordered Prime Rib and Rib eye. Prime Rib had been around for awhile, ordered it medium rare came out medium and a very thin cut of meat had gravy on it?? The menu said it was a 12oz,but look like a 8oz. Not much flavor. Bake potato was just okay. The Rib eye steak was also very thin cut for a steak and price. The wife said the taste was good. For the prices we paid the cut of meat should have been better. The drinks we're nice and wet and the boats hanging on the celling were nice and the table was nice and the chairs were nice and this is far too many word to type for a review....never again.........................................................................................................will I write a review for open table........."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. The service was excellent, as was the food with the exception of the Crab Claw Cocktail that was difficult to eat and not worth the work to get the meat out of the claw. They did take $12.00 off the final bill. We were treated to a champagne split and ordered another one later in the meal. We will go back whenever we visit Harbor Springs, and will definitely try them elsewhere."

  • "My wife and I took her parents here for their 43rd anniversary and it was perfect. It was a non-holiday Saturday in February so pretty quiet already but the service and food did not fail to impress and go beyond the expected. We sat by the window as requested earlier in an email and got to see a stunning, pink and purple wintery sunset over the bay. The pianist, amazing calamari, breaded and fried just right with a mild but tasty sauce, perch, surf and turf and the Commander's Platter were all great. My mother-in-law accidentally spilled half of her hummer at one point and the waitress got her another full one. Afterwards, we went to the fun bar and sat by the fire for more conversation and one last cocktail. Everything was impressive!"

  • "Our hotel was in Petosky and we drove to Harbor Springs for dinner here. Cute, quaint little town. We were seated right away and a waitress was at our table to take a drink order. I had the 1/2 whitefish 1/2 perch dinner and they went off menu and prepared my whitefish specially for me since I did not want it cooked on a plank. It was delicious. My husband ordered the petite filet and whitefish and his was good also. The rolls were heavenly. The dessert was "okay". We ordered the hot fudge/carmel/peanut cream puff. The puff was obviously pre-made a frozen. They typically are soft heavenly pastries and this one was hard as a rock. Other than the dessert, this place was a great gem on the water."

  • "My wife and I went here for our 10 year anniversary. The host was very energetic and had a table all set for us when we arrived. As soon as we sat down, the manager offered us a more intimate table closer to the widows which over look the bay. As the wait staff passed us, they all congratulated us on our anniversary. It seemed they all knew who we were and why we were there! When we sat at out new table our waitress brought us a bottle of complementary champagne and the chef sent out a sampling of the antipasto salad. The wait staff worked as a great team, helping to take care of each others table and we never had to wait for any of our needs. The food was excellent and we will be visiting the Pointer Room on our next visit."

  • "My wife and I dined in the Pointer Room to celebrate a special occasion and kick off our trip up north. We really enjoyed our dinners - we both had the planked whitefish - which came in huge portions and was well seasoned, but mild. I'd never had potatoes prepared the way they do it, but I loved them. Our salads were also very good, as was the complimentary freshly baked bread. We got their just after sunset, which is unfortunate since this room sits right on the water with pretty views during daylight hours. There is also a nice bar that is separate from this dining room, which is cozy and has really comfortable bar chairs. Try the Awesome Coffee for a night cap. Highly recommend this place, and we hope to dine here again."

  • "My wife made reservations for dinner to celebrate my birthday. The view of the harbor and the quiet atmosphere was only the beginning. The waitstaff was very friendly and professional. Then came the food. The seafood chowder was AMAZING! The steak was done to perfection. The scallops were the low point of the meal, receiving only 4 1/2 stars out of 5. My wife's prime rib was top quality and melt in your mouth tender. We topped off this perfect meal with the Saunders hot fudge cream puff, which we shared. We will definitely be back. Jerry Haines"

  • "We lived in Michigan over 30 years ago and really looked forward to a really excellent Great Lakes seafood dinner. Staffords ranks with the best fish houses we remember from years ago. The whitefish was large and expertly prepared. The lake perch were also excellent. Add to this a view of one of the most beautiful harbors on the Great Lakes and you have a very memorable evening. Highly recommended."
