Spassomother's day lunchwe were a party of 4. my mother uses a walker. i had requested a table with easy access for her. we were seated earlier than our reservation time. the wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. the mother's day menu was smaller than normal but offered a great variety of dishes. none were over priced for the holiday. our orders included: spinach salad with chicken, canelloni, spasso salad and penne with chicken in a creamy tomato sauce. our meal was prepared and served very fast. no long wait due to the holiday. each dish was prepared very well. we finished our meal with creme brulee.. it was excellent.. another plus was that there wasn't a price-fixe menu. i would recommend trying spasso's anytime.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite Neighborhood SpotMet friends there recently for drinks & tapas/appetizers. We ordered a bunch of small plates and had drinks before they had to return to SFO for a night flight. Polenta cubes, crab cakes, piquillo peppers--these are some of the tastiest things on the menu of small plates. But we eat at Spasso often and have never had even a mediocre meal--it's all been stellar. We each had a nice martini, shared a warm cabbage salad, enjoyed perfectly prepared Halibut and Skirt Steak, and finished off the meal with a wonderful cobbler for dessert. We were at a nice table by the window and were able to quietly enjoy a one-on-one conversation. The black pepper pasta, the chicken parm, and many of the small plates (the polenta cubes and the piquillo peppers in particular) are delicious.
