The setting, service, decor and ambiance in this historic Liberty Station location is like no other. Family-owned and operated, Stefano and Roberta hail from Milan, Italy and personally designed every aspect of Solare’s, using organic elements. We believe in the use of local fresh organic produce,… natural meat and wild seafood and we are a "Sustainable Green Restaurant". Each dish is prepared from scratch with love and passion to satisfy our customer's heart and soul.

"A friend and I were traveling and the restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff. There was a large party dining that seemed to throw the wait staff "off." Our waiter seemed so rushed and stressed that we were rushed. The pear and gorgonzola salad was fantastic. However, the tomato soup that the waiter recommended over the minestrone was not worth $12 a bowl (compared with 7 for the minestrone)."

"My husband and I dined here last night due to a Bluespot coupon for 50% off. We were really impressed by the ambiance of the restaurant -- it is visually beautiful inside -- and the service was personal and the food was wonderful! We shared a delicious carpacio appetizer served with arugula, capers, parmasan and lemon. Then we shared a seafood pizza -- no cheese, but the flavor was really yummy. I think they should tell you there's no cheese, though and I would have preferred it with cheese even though it is more authentic to serve it without cheese. Only other negative was the bread and tomato dip - the tomato dip was cold and was like someone just opened a can of tomatos and put them in a little bowl, and the bread was just ok."

"Went here with friends for partner's birthday. Two of us ordered the duck (on special) and it was REALLY dry and tough. Had to get a steak knife, and ended up leaving a lot of it on the plate because it was too much effort for sub-par duck. Might have sent it back, but it took us over an hour to order our main course. The waiter took our wine and appetizer order, came back only three minutes later for the entree order, and when we told him we still needed a minute to decide he disappeared. And when we finally we caught him, he was walking past our table and appeared to be specifically avoiding looking in our direction. I almost had to physically grab him so he would stop. To their credit, the water and bread guys were very attentive."

"My whole dining experience from start to finish was outstanding. Table was prepared on time with flowers I had ordered. Pomodora Bruschette was excellent as appetiser. Linguine alla Pescatora was outstanding. The wine list was a little weak so I brought my own wine and paid the $15 corkage. Service was outstanding. I dined there for a romantic evening and Solare met all my expectations as a romantic dining experience."

"Party of 5 just looking for a relaxing dinner. Service was pretty slow and not very attentive. Had to beg for bread, and when we wanted a refill of bread it took 15 minutes before anyone even looked our way. Had the same problem when we were ready for more wine. The restaurant was not that busy."
