Finally stepped outside of my go-to sushi spot to find a more reasonably priced restaurant that doesn't sacrifice quality of the food. Slow Fish met every need we had. Good sushi, great prices and good service. A must-go place to take advantage of their amazing happy hour prices. Only downside is that some of their furniture seems like it needs to be tended to. The ripped seat cushions and the wobbly tables specifically.

We went here on recommendation of my brother, who loves the place. Sushi was adequate, but nothing to sing high praises for. Fat Avo promised much more than it delivered. Service was awkward; items arrived in random order with the fat avo--listed as an appetizer--arriving last.

We decided to try Slow fish as it was so close to LACMA, where we had just enjoyed an exhibit. The fish was excellent. The service was very friendly and the sushi arrived very quickly. We happened to arrive during Happy Hour so a few of the rolls were 1/2 off. Our final bill was surprisingly very affordable considering we had a couple of beers and a lot of really good sushi. I would go back for sure.

We liked this place -- the black rice sushi is super tasty -- but our server was illusive and we sat for over 20 minutes waiting for the bill long after we'd finished.

We often order Slow Fish delivered to our apartment and are quite happy with the food. However, dining at the restaurant was extremely disappointing. I had a reservation, when we walked in no one was at the host stand. I waited 5 minutes before I was greeted but was still optimistic...and then the server was like, "that's your table in the middle" and she pointed...seriously...so we sat ourselves while she went to get menus. Service was slow and awkward the whole time - I understand people have off nights but this was pretty ridiculous. I won't be dining in again and now I don't know if I even want to give them my delivery business. Overall 3 stars because of the food...that's it.

I brought my boyfriend to Slow Fish for his birthday dinner. I'm not a huge fan of sushi, but he is, and I had been to Slow Fish previously and enjoyed it. I was surprised to find the place almost empty during happy hour! My boyfriend got sake for $4, which I felt was quite a steal! We both loved our food, my boyfriend has even told people since that it's the best sushi he's ever had (I agree, though it's the only sushi I've ever really liked)! The service was quick and good. The only slight hiccup was that my boyfriend thought the dish he ordered was cheaper than it turned out to be on the bill. Not a big deal though - we just have to make sure we ask about the prices! Overall, excellent experience, and we'll definitely be back soon!

We really enjoy some of the different options available on the menu (Fat Avo) and the traditional lineup of sushi. The black rice option is also a favorite. Friendly staff and decent wines make it a good spot for a night out.

Expected a bit more from this place. We rolled up at 8PM and there were just 2-3 tables with people at them. The music was way too quiet, and the lights were way too bright, which made the overall vibe feel very awkward. The service was super weird and felt hurried. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco, and the waitress didn't pour it when she brought it to our table. They also brought a roll we didn't order. The prepared rolls we ordered were not that great, and neither was the Gyoza. The only redeeming part was that we ordered the fish they said was freshest, and the quality of the fish was very good.

Food was above par but not the best sushi I've ever had. The broiled salmon collar and the "hot city roll" were standouts. Service was attentive and server gave great recommendations. Good happy hour prices that go till 7pm...though the happy hour menu could stand to be a little larger. I'd probably go back if I was in the area and hungry for sushi...not sure I'd especially seek this place out though.

The highlight of the meal was the "slow fish" roll. The rest of the food was pretty standard for a sushi restaurant. Our waitress was very genuine and tried to make our experience great (and she succeeded)! The florescent kitchen lights that spill out into the dining room detract from the great ambiance.

I now know why they call this place "slow" fish. The service was really bad. Our appetizers came 15 minutes AFTER the entree. No one asked if we needed anything else (napkins, another drink etc), they couldn't find our open table reservation, when the ball came, they had forgotten to charge us for our bottled water. We didn't realize, put or card to pay.... 10 minutes later, a waitress comes back with a revised bill. I found that to be in poor taste. A nice restaurant would have eaten the cost ESLECIALLY after all the other mishaps. Never going back. Not recommending.
