Where we invite you to journey into a place of both intimacy and companionship
Our concept is drawn from our name. The word “cloak” implies secrecy, inspiring our concept of a social sphere humming beneath the levels of ordinary life. “Petal” alludes to the Japanese tradition of “hanami,” when family and friends gather under blooming cherry blossoms to savor food, drinks and fellowship.
Enter our space and travel underground to décor reminiscent of an abandoned Tokyo subway, a stratum of society all its own, an artist’s dream. Cross the threshold into a mystically transformed Japanese social dining lounge which appears to be an outdoor seating area, similar to a waiting platform. Sit beneath a trellis of draping vines and teardrop lights in the intimate space we’ve thoughtfully created, and feast on authentic Japanese sushi, appetizers, small plates and drinks with family and friends.

Food was on par with sushi quality around the area and within southern California restaurants. I did not have steak so I cannot comment on the steak dishes. The sashimi was fresh. I ordered mostly sashimi (about 6 different ones) and 3-4 appetizer. They were all delicious and high quality. The server was available shortly after we were seated. However, the appetizers came out, I had to ask the host who walked by (and who was more attentive to the tables) to ask for placing more orders.

Celebrated my husband’s bday on Saturday early dinner (4pm). Service was great, food and drinks were delicious, we enjoyed everything. They gave my husband a little birthday dessert after our dinner. So cute!

We came here for my friend’s birthday and had a great experience from start to finish. We were seated right away with a reservation, and our waiter was super friendly and attentive. He gave spot-on drink recommendations based on what each of us liked, and the drinks were tasty—flavorful without being too strong. We shared three appetizers between the three of us, which was the perfect amount. The noods & dumplings are on the spicy side, FYI. The music was a great mix that added to the vibe, and the decor was really nice without feeling overdone. Overall, a solid spot—we’d definitely come back!

Fun vibe and Vegas like atmosphere. But, the food is very average and they use soju or shochu in their drinks. Anyway, we had fun but I wouldn't go out of my way to return anytime soon.

The food was average. The specialty roll we ordered had tempura that was cold and chewy. It didn’t taste fresh at all. Music was really loud for a half full restaurant. The service mediocre. Really nothing special that would ever make me want go back.

I really like the happy hour. But overall, the sushi rice was not well done. The fish quality was great though. I probably won’t go back though.

This was a fun, young spot to celebrate a 20th bday! The space has fantastic graffiti, edgy lighting & a cool, high ceiling covered with flowers. The sushi was great - fresh & flavorful. The skirt steak app was insane & we had to order two sashimi apps because they were so delicious! Our server was attentive but not pushy. We would totally come back!
